Someone please help me. I cannot get the macro right for MNK AF hand and O kote switching. I want to gather tp with O kotes, equip the AF hands for boost, then re-equip the O kotes for atk. Can anyone give me the correct commands?

/equpie Hand "items name when in your invertory"

some armour like IM is not iron mustkers its IM shield etc so you put the name from inv in the slot of items name when invertory
so be "O-kote" and "Temple Gloves"
so /equip Hand "O-kote"
and /equip Hand "Temple Gloves"

edit also have like this
/equip Hand "O-kote"
/echo O kotes on

/equip Hand "Temple Gloves"
/echo af hands on

The extra boost gained from AF hands goes away immeadiately after switching hand gear whether you WS or not. Alot of MNKs make that mistake with chi blasting.

For a WS you would probably want 1 macro as

"ws"
/equip hands "Temple Gloves"
/equip other items

and another as
"tp"
/equip hands "Ochudio's Kote"
/other equips

and then

"skill"
/p 1st/2nd/both(whichever ws) {whatever} >> <t> [ <tp> ]
/wait 1
/ws "whatever" <t>

My macros:

/equip "Hands" "Ochiudo's Kote"
/equip "Hands" "Temple Gloves"

These are the hands sections only; each of these macros has 3-4 other pieces of gear swapping. I recommend macro'ing in str equipment (including brown belt over life belt) for WS's, and make sure you know what your WS modifiers are.

http://www.qcdn.org/showthread.php?t=23269 is a great post about WS formulas; that should let you determine what of your gear you should be macro'ing.

Also, about temple gloves and boost: Equipping the gloves enhances boost effect. This includes boosts that ocurred before you equipped the gloves.

If you boost three times, equip the gloves, then boost three more before chi blasting an inc mob, you will get the damage from 6 enhanced boosts. If you equip gloves, boost six times, switch to kote and chi blast, you will get the damage from 6 normal boosts.

Actually, that's not true. I just tested it, I wore my temple gloves and boosted then took them off and my attack only dropped by 2, which was the effect of the 4 STR that was on the gloves.

Also untrue, at least from the same experiment I just did where I boosted without the gloves equipped and then put them back on, my attack only changed by 2 due to the STR on the gloves.

Yay for people spreading false information.

Two macros.

WS
/equip hands "Temple Gloves"
/ja "Boost" <me>

Raging Fists (or other WS)
/ws "Raging Fists" <t>
/wait 6 (anything above 3 works, but 6 lets the SC animation go off)
/equip hands "Ochiudo's Kote"

Or if you really wanna have the extra attack instead of STR,

Boost
/equip hands "Temple Gloves"
/ja "Boost" <me>
/wait 1
/equip hands "Ochiudo's Kote"

O-kote works

You have to actually spell out the name of the item, so Ochuido's Kote is what you have to put. Since there's no item that's actually called "O-kote" in the item list, it won't do anything.

I'm going to have to check in-game, but I know I experimented a lot when I first got AF gloves, and unless they have changed it in a recent update, the boost effect does get enhanced by equipping the gloves afterwards.

I'm also certain that unequipping the AF gloves loses the enhancement to boost.

I will do experiments in game later today and post results.

Edit: Ok, just checked and they do work the way Ikari has posted; that is, you want the gloves on when you boost for the effect. Changing the gloves on or off after a boost only changes your attack by the 2 points from strength. It is possible that my earlier tests were confused by the attack on the Ochiudo's Kote, or that it has been changed at some point.

i also read similar things, that like if you use the temple crown and use focus, that any enhancement from the crown is lost when changing the equipment. id imagine its same for the gloves.

That's actually wrong. The bonus stays, as with all other AF. Only AF2 works differently, like the WAR AF2 berserk boost.

Not true, at least in the case of Souleater. If you take the Chaos Burgeonet off after using Souleater, you lose the bonus damage.

The reason I could see why, is because Souleater is dormant until you're actually hitting something. Accuracy is always active.

Actually, that was me, not ikari.

Or the Melee Gaiters counterstance enhancement. :(

I thought you only had to have Melee Gaiters on while activating?

Nope, it's glaring obvious you need them equipped to have the enhancement when your counter rate plummits without them.
