After level 65ish, Dancer obtains Dancing Edge. Duh.

This move is unlike any of our other WSs beforehand in the fact that the main stat mod is Charisma, and the secondary Dexterity, thus giving us a WS that will naturally do decent damage.

By that level we also have access to Wild flourish and Building Flourish, when combined with dancing edge, most dancers can perfom some notable melee damage, and with the right gear, can actually compete with a SATA.

On can only imagine what the possibilites are for a dancer at hier levels, like.. Eviscration?

Now, here's what I propose for a gear setup in end game levels, like nyzul, for dancers, to maximize our weaponskill efficiency.

Main weapon : Trilling dagger, dramaticly increases the damage of light skill chains

Off hand: Martial knife, TP bonus, makes your weaponskill do an extra tier of damage.

The move: Building flourish >>> Wild Flourish >>> Eviscration >>> Skillchain: Transfixion (Light, Tier 2)

Building Flourish makes next Weaponskill perform an extra 20-30% damage.

Wild Flourish Makes next weaponskill perform an immeadite Skillchain.

Martial Knife makes the weaponskill go up a tier, so a 100% WS will do the dmg of a 150%, a 200% do the damage of a 300%, and a 300% do the dmg of... a 450%? lol

Trilling dagger practicly doubles the damage of a light skillchain, and under the correct circumstances can possibly make it do more than the WS that tripped it.

Thus, at 100% tp, you do a instant doubled transfixion skillchaining 150% Eviscration with an extra 30% dmg. the result? I have no idea.

All that remains is stacking on the stats for eviscration in macro, and att. Toss in O hat, velocious belt, and a couple other high acc items with the god hands (our af hands) You have a omgwtfbbqdncmelee that can actually hurt the monster.

I have 0 idea if this actually works, but I am so going to try this out asap. I'm already collecting my dex and chr gear for later levels as we speak.

If anyone wants to know, the trilling dagger is dropped off a tier 2 ZNM, colibri I believe, can't quite remember. Has a high drop rate though.

martial knife doesnt work in the offhand.

Maybe you should actually get to 75, before telling others how to gear themselves/play.

most likely the effect isn't a martial stat so i'm fairly positive that it would affect regardless of which slot. there are some items with martial stats like crit % bonuses that only work for the weapon equipped and some on both ie dissector on the weapon and senji on both(?).

it's an interesting idea, assuming the sc isn't resisted to hell the damage itself would rely on the wses landing all hits and hoping the crit would go off on the ws. Wouldn't it be better to make something with dancing edge? although i'm not sure if the sc would be on the same tier the damage overall from trying this combination would be better.

But you'd use different and stronger weapons for dnc then, you also have to factor in that the weapon base is low but the positive side is the low delay still the ws damage would reflect which is what you're aiming for here besides the light sc of course.

No, the KS30 weapons (+6% crit) only effect that weapon, they make no difference to the other weapon when dual wielding, which is one reason you won't see a (smart) nin main hand Perdu and off hand Senj.

Same thing applies to all the martial weapons as far as i know, and i would assume Trilling dagger aswell, although possibly not, I think X's Knife still increases crit damage for main hand, even if it's off handed - not 100% sure. But then again, why would you be offhanding X's knife, unless you have Mandau, anyway?

I have dagger merits and dnc at 75. Dancing Edge with building flourish works well on mobs weak to piercing, but a thf will pretty much always win. The only issue is using so many finishing moves for having both of those flourishes up at the same time. I personally thing building flourish is much more useful than wild flourish, and you can keep the buff up while you recover your finishing moves to do a reverse floursh right after the ws.

The only Jobs wielding daggers who use Evisceration are the jobs who don't have Dancing Edge.

Trilling Dagger blows, don't use it.

TP bonus doesn't go higher than 300%... I can't believe I'm reading this, I'm going to get some aspirin.

I personally prefer Behemoth +1 for dnc. The lower dagger skill gets a nice attack boost from the dagger so you are less likely to hit by 0, and the hp is always a great bonus.

Lol, i can't believe i missed that, my own fault for skimming over posts instead of reading them properly. What a gem, 450% TP... haha.

Went over it a second time...

although it's fairly funny we were all at that "stage" once nei, simmer down rofl

Guess I better stop before I really blow it but still, I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that one lol

holy !@#$...

Sarcasm, you know it? TP caps at 300%? no fucking duh people, it was a little joke, haha?

Maybe you should actually get to 75, before telling others how to gear themselves/play.

I'm not telling anyone how to play their job, I was making a suggestion and looking for feedback.

This was suggested for a WS stack, not DoT stack for dnc. DoT would definitely be azoth with off hand behemoth +1.

The reasoning for this is with trilling dagger, a well executed light SC will due as much, possibly more damage then the evisceration that triggered it. Now how much dmg does dancing do more than evisceration? 300? 400? maybe 200, meh

So if you stack the stats for evisceration, you will lose 200-300 damage, but double it in SC form. Once again I';m not saying, "Hey /R/tards, you should be using this!!!1!!!" it was a "hey, how would this work? Anyone tried it? I'm curious."

Get off your "you're 20 levels below me so I'm officially a god and you know nothing about the game", hey guess what, I got dancer the day it came out too, so we've both been using it for the same amount of time, so stfu and get off your high horse, or take it to the flameboard if you feel so damn strong about it.

Back on topic, HAS anyone BWF'd eviscration with a trilling dagger? How much do you find it to increase the SC?

eviseration is very much inferior to dancing edge by a large margin, using it for sc purposes is really the only use

on a thf I've found it to do about 100~300 more dd sans crit and triple attack procs, which is a pretty noticeable amount of damage added... light scs which damage can vary can fluctuate more so than your weaponskill damage because you directly control the results as with weaponskill damage. This is also the reason to focus more on your weaponskill damage overall than skillchains.

the responses twoards you were definitely rough, but you have to take viewpoints that don't agree with you to learn

you also say double the sc damage but you've never tested it and you're asking if any dancers have had results to speak...just to add

Since you missed it the first time. Why would you use a WS stack as you put it, the DoT setup will almost certainly beat it, time and time again. Yes the light SC will be stronger but all your hits to 100% will be weaker, lowering your overall damage. The only use I can think of is on something with innate physical resistance, which you shouldn't be meleeing, or a HNM, which you probably shouldn't be meleeing. No one is on a high horse, it's just a bad idea.

This entire post has been a lot more noteable than all of neisan's snooty over the nose comments.

The only reason I'm getting annoyed is because the replies were so "I'm better than you stop wasting my time noob"

Anywho, I'll definitly want to test this, considering the set consists of a single slot, the trilling dagger, (cause I'll still use martial knife on the Dancing edge stack anyways)

All in all, it's trying to igure out whether or not the damage increase do to trilling dagger, is > than thedamage lost over using eviscration over dancing edge.

Dancign edge does still seem to be a better WS due to the chr part, so a dnc can in fact stack the chr and dex, toss in some acc/att for good measur,e and fill in teh rest of the empty spots with haste gear, resulting in decent balance with DD, healing, and DoT. (I don;t know what the oppisite of DoT is, damage in a single shot...

While I understand what your saying Urat, that you want to use different daggers when you plan on WSing a lot, but for a dancer, that is a terrible idea. A dancer is not a thief and does not use their TP solely for weaponskills. A dancer is there to help cure the party, buff the party with sambas and debuff the enemy with steps all while doing respectable DoT to the enemy. When you're in a situation where you are simply just WSing the mob on DNC, you are almost always neglecting healing/buffing. Not that doing so is truly awful if your party setup allows you to WS more, but you really do have to be careful.

The two knifes you mention could and would never win out on a dancer's true purpose. My dancer got 72 yesterday and with my gear setup, I can pull out farily nice numbers with my WS (Evisceration or DE). But WSing should only be done when you know you can keep up will healing.

Trilling Dagger has 28 dmg and Martial Knife has 27 dmg. While Behemoth's +1 has 32 dmg (and attack +10) and Azoth has 35. No matter how you look at it, the benefits of either two behemoth's +1 or azoth/behemoth +1 are so much better and probably even WS higher than Martial/Trilling. You mentioned you keep Martial Knife on anyway. I'd strongly advise against that. Think about it, on DNC you very very often hold TP over 100% as high level waltzes and sambas take a good amount of TP to use. How much good is 27dmg doing then as opposed the much better options?

^^^^ exactly what I was looking for, thank you

I never looked at the dmg of the weapons, yeah that is a hgue difference.

And the only tiem I'd be using this set up is in a party that already has decent curing, and my only purpsoe is to stack my steps and keep samba up, and with that I can easily get 1 WS per battle.

If they needed me to cure, or even back up cure, yeah I'm stacking on the chr and acc, and will probably never even go over 100% tp so WSing is out of the question, lol

Thank you.
