WTF!? Garka mages

Galka mage is bad because they have small mp pool?

lv 75 Galka Pld has 143 base mp, 223 fully merited. At least some part of the pld hate is generated throguh mp, % depends on your play style.

I'm sure you can make a big list of reasons why you are not gimped / waste of pt space. Most of those reason will explain why your fellow galka magic users don't suck.

Flame the retarded players, there's no bad race.

pld mp is overated, your getting cure bombed too much in a situation where race would have a noticable defferance to get your cure fully used. Cure IV for 112 hp is lol... <3 galka pld, best hands down ^^

I always make the most out of my cures, and I'm hardly ever cure bombed, and if I am, I just ask the healer to hold back a little bit. All races, especially galka, should make the most out of their MP.

Mirewen says I look cute with my Scythe

'nuff said.

Galka mages aren't half-bad (even though they're stinky-winky galkas)

and Tarutaru melee "rock the shit".

Then you tell your whm to stop cure 5ing you for no reason dont let yourself suck cause someone else does. I always use my MP. Tanking isnt a one person effort plds and nins should have communication with there mages.

How come when Galka's mage it up, they are teh suck, but when Tarus play a melee job, they are cute and effective. I want justice dammit!

Wow, people are still making flames about race/job combos? I suppose it's better than another rdm melee thread but even still, this argument is old.

Any race can play any job, as long as the player understands how to max their potential. Stat differences at lower levels are easily overcome by gear, and at higher levels are barely even noticeable in terms of performance.

I staticed with a Galka WHM whom I believe was the first to hit 75 on Quetz (this was over 2 years ago). Back then merits didn't exist, and most people hadn't even hit 75 in one job, much less multiple. He was (and still is, if he's still playing) one of the best WHM's I've had the priveledge of xping with. And to think that when he joined our static he was getting snubbed for invites just because galka showed up on search. This is 2007 people, the racist bullshit needs to stay back in 2004.

Pixelated racism?

I believe we covered that while I was camping Dune Widow=)

Where's the love people?

Galka may be fugly looking

Taru may be punted

Elfs may not hit water if they fell out a boat

Humes may all look like wanna be boyband rockstars

And every mithra may be a manthra and have a "second" tail

but aside from flaming idiots to your elitist jack offs

Where's the love?

Totally agree. There are plenty of good Galka mages.

Skill > Gear > Race

So, I guess I don't see what there is to flame, especially considering it boils down to what someone else does with their $12.95/month.
dies of shock:shok: you said skill:shok: nah but in all seriousness galka blm are not that bad least they don't die in one hit like some taru blms. Just like taru pld won't run out mp but will get 1 shoted by 1 good nuke.

Well at least if a Galka mage grabs hate he can probably withstand a few extra blows while the tank/melees attempt to peel the mob off him, and like so many have said here its the person within the body that counts hume, galka, taru, elvaan, mithra they all have their own advantages and disavantages and skiled players can take each challenge in their stride and do the best they can with what they have given to them.

I think thats why I really enjoy the merit system, not every player will merit the same stats, they will chose what they think can increase their characters effectiveness. :)

Its fine if any job wants to play any job, but I think his point is how effective a taru blm versus a galka blm with the same merits and gear would compare. If I knew how bad my elv blm would stack up against a taru blm, I would have never lvl'd blm. I don't see a prob with a galka whm or rdm, but blm I still would leave to the hume, mithra, and taru. A well geared and merit'd elv or galka blm will still only be as good as a 74-75 taru blm with no merits, and avg gear.

No offense Q, but that attitude gets me every time. Feeling like it's not worth levelling a job just because your racial disadvantages mean your nukes will do about 5% less damage than a stacked taru . . . c'mon man. It's fine to be a numbers whore, it's fine if you get off from being the best of the best uber leet pixels out there, but not everyone wants that. Some people just want to have fun and experience the full range of jobs available, they shouldn't be required to create a new character to play a different job. Maybe they don't want to do Genkai bullshit over again. Maybe they think Taru are immasculated shrimps and don't want to be punted everywhere they go. As long as they're having fun, and making an effort to compensate for the racial differences, why should it even be an issue?

I was reading this topic and noticed a lot of people saying skill > gear > race. Sorry, but no. There is little to no skill involved in this game. Gear > Race >>> whatever Skill you might need.

Sorry but no, there is skill involved in playing any game. That's why some people are better at certain games than others. People who think no skill is involved are either one of the people who lack the skills to do the job right or just have the mistaken impression that everyone is equally capable at every job. They're not.

Meh, in pre-75 I'll take a galka mage who knows wth he's doing over a taru (or w/e race) that doesn't have a clue. 75+ you can merit to make up the difference to a certain extent, as you pointed out. =P
Goodluck with that
