i think its funny that people are buying them for 1000+ on ebay. nice way to waste a shit load of money. they are gonna be in for a surprise. stupid fucks.

Very true, but I can't say that's been a bad thing. Nintendo introduced shoulder buttons I believe with SNES. They really brought the joystick into the market back with 64. And I've never heard a good backed up complaint about the cube controller, even of those who favored the ps1/ps2 controller.

Even I'm thinking "What the hell" about the new controller though, and I consider myself open minded regarding the subject. But when it's all over and released, I have a feeling I won't be dissapointed based on past history.

It's really nice to see microsoft has put computer game standards into the console world though. Releasing semi finished products for the sake of deadlines, way to go Microsoft! I'm glad it's appartently going to bite them in the ass, that shouldn't be accepted. It's bad enough we have to deal with that on most PC games.
 
no system will ever be 100%, ps2 isnt (DRE and Gear backing issues still exist to this day)
xbox 1 isnt (god forbid one of your saves corrupts your Xbox dash file and your system wont boot and there is no safe mode!)
i personally....have had no trouble on the 360. Its a great machine, from what ive researched the numbers are about 5 in 40 that have had problems, that adds up to alot, but thats to be expected for any system.
Remember the gameboy Missing NO. problem....*shiver*
 
xbox1 sucked 360 was rushed and sucks, ps2 was good but at start it had problems, gamecube had no problems just lack of good games and the new nintendo will not have any problems i bet
 
Microsoft has no Knowledge of the console industry. Nintendo has been in the game for the longest, Sony came in the console industry at the time Sega Saturn bombed I think. Whem Microsoft came into the Console industry I was like, "lol". I think everyone thought so.

I remember hearing some dumb fuck dad saying (before PS2 came out) him and his kid didn't want PS2 and was gonna wait for X-Box to come out. He also said he was going on line for the console. I really wonder what his face turned into when he found out his shit wouldn't even turn on! XD Cause he looked like the father that would blow off steem easy.
 
I bought a PS2 when it first came out and i still own it till this day and play ff11 on it. So i say the original ps2 not the thin little shit was built to last.

BTW i'm always loged on i have 300 days playtime and counting
 
Yeah, I am still on my original PS2 also, got it the first month it was out, so it was original line of them. I have never had problems with consoles, but I always treat them very well and keep them very clean (My parents are neat freaks, so our house never has dust to fuck up a system lol)

XBox360 and Microsoft in general are still new. Some mishaps are expected. Hopefully nothing too big though. I still think they kind of rushed it to get the Holiday money.
 
my PS2, from about a week after launch, has lasted up untill last week, when it decided it didnt like me anymore, and stoped reading ps2 games. does PS1 games just fine, so i'll live untill PS3 launches. It survived being luged across the continent several times in a not verry protective bag, i got my moneys worth out of it, and then some.
 
I still have the original PS2 I got at KB Toys that they overcharged me on cause of the shortage problems lol, was like 350 or so instead of the regular $300, and it still reads ps2/ps2games and dvds, I just take good care of my systems lol.
 
Got my PS2 from that christmas. Still works fine, neverr really had issues cept with my sega genisis getting worn out.

Granted I HAVE gone through some variuse cabels before but those are more through stupidity and or negligence on my part then the consul being shoddy.
 
My ps2 has lasted also. Although I believe my first Ps1 eventually stopped working for no good reason.

I've always taken very good care of all my consoles.

you know you can get that repaired for free right?
Call the sony help line,
tell them you are getting DRE (disc read error) when trying to play your ps2 games, they will ask you if it does that for music, dvds, etc.
they will walk you through some steps on the menu to see if it still doesnt read. Usually, it does not.

They will then ask you some simple questions with obvious answers (have you dropped the system, has it come into contact with water etc.)

they will then tell you that your system needs servicing and that they will waive the service fee for you, you only need to pay for the shipping and handling TO them they will pay for the shipping back, once you send it you will have your system back in a week. Working like new. Infact when i did this with mine i got mine back 2 days later....my friend got his back the next day, we dont live too far from the area we shipped them to tho lol. like a few hours away.
they basically just put a new ps2 inside your old shell!

So yeah, call them and your ps2 will be your friend again
