XBox 360 already having Hardware issues

If you can recall the first X-Box when it released it only lasted for an hour and broke. Consumers started calling Microsoft complaining that the console would not function anymore. Customer Support was so rude it could project like a recreation of the Cold War. Maybe the same will go for 360.

I'm not buying 360 untill next year or something. I'm in no rush to buy 360, PS3, or the new Nintendo. It's not really worth the money atm with all this bug shit and paying more money to get the god damn system fixed. So back me up on what I said. =)

I got both my Xbox, and my Xbox 360 on release days and both work just fine. the only issue with the xbox I am aware of was some improperly installed curcit breakers put in the first gen launch day hardwear, wich I didn't even know about till microsoft sent me a notice about, and sent me a special power cord with a curcit breaker in it.

Also I think your sources are nothing more than sony fan boy rumors and hear say, like the orginal exploding xbox rumor. I have only turned off my 360 twice since purchace and it's running just fine. thats almost 6 solid days of continious use.

My experience is the opposite of what it is being said here.

All my gaming devices were bought on LAUNCH DAY and they all have survived untill the "next big thing" launch day. My Pong, Atari, Intellevision, ColecoVision, Commodore 64, NES, Genesis, SNES, Gameboy, 32X, Sega CD, NeoGeo, Playstation, NeoGeo CD, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Gamecube and Xbox were living proof of that.
Thats why i always buy consoles at launch and i have no doubt that my XBox 360 will perform superb untill my next XBox if any.

Okay okay okay okay... Genesis and the N64 were probably my favourite systems ever. Sonic 3 in Sonic and Knuckles is probably still my favourite game to date, even if I rarely play it anymore.
However, I still say the XBox is a shit system, and Gates and his Microsoft kids are stupid for trying to control the console industry. I'm not saying Playstation2 was like way greater, but in my opinion, the XBox has crap games, crap gameplay, crap most things. PD:Zero is okay... it's not a supreme game, but it's not bad. It's like Halo2 mixed with PD 64

Call the sony help line,
tell them you are getting DRE (disc read error) when trying to play your ps2 games, they will ask you if it does that for music, dvds, etc.
they will walk you through some steps on the menu to see if it still doesnt read. Usually, it does not.

They will then ask you some simple questions with obvious answers (have you dropped the system, has it come into contact with water etc.)

they will then tell you that your system needs servicing and that they will waive the service fee for you, you only need to pay for the shipping and handling TO them they will pay for the shipping back, once you send it you will have your system back in a week. Working like new. Infact when i did this with mine i got mine back 2 days later....my friend got his back the next day, we dont live too far from the area we shipped them to tho lol. like a few hours away.
they basically just put a new ps2 inside your old shell!

So yeah, call them and your ps2 will be your friend again

And that has been an absolutly horrid experience for me. I had the same problem couple years back. Did the same thing. Called them. Had to ship it to them. They in turn sent me a refurbished unit back to me. Not my same one. This one was broken also. I honestly don't think they test their units thouroughly.

Well I called them up AGAIN and told them that their unit that they sent me was broken as well. Anything driven by the 3D processor was acting haywire. Nothing displayed correctly. It was still fundamentally broken. So they forwarded me to an actual Playstation console tech so I could tell him 'EXACTLY' what was going wrong. I did. And they told me to ship it to them again. Which I refused. This was their fault. So they payed for the shipping this time.

Cue 2 months later and I get my system back. Excited as hell I open it up and it looks like the same unit they sent me last time (scratch on the top right corner and all). Good, I thought, they didn't pull another switcharoo on me. Hopefully they just FIXED this one. Turn it on and load up Wild Arms III. Wow... still broken. Exact same problem from before... they didn't fix it at all. Did they even LOOK at my console? Doubt it. Major fuck up is what it was. So I called them again. And was getting the exact same response as before. "Send it in and we'll fix it." Well... didn't work the first two times I sent it in. So screw you.

Unfortunately I caved in and bought a slim PS2 about 4 months ago. 2 years without a PS2 and I was acheing to play some of my old games again. (FFXI kept me fairly busy in the interim.) :)

For those that get the DRE errors. From my perspective, it would have been better to open up the PS2 (Screw the warranty) and fix it myself in a matter of 30 minutes. Than to wait 9 total months and never get a working PS2 back. Thank you, and good night.
 
The only system i didn't make my mom buy me was the 3DO. That is in my Hall of Fame of crappy systems right next to Nintendo's Virtual Boy... ><

I had all those systems because im old. I'm 34 now and i didn't have many options back in those days (i coulda kept going to swimming team but i liked gaming better ^^).

The XBox aside from being the most powerful system from last GEN, has some very interesting games u can play. Try Elder Scroll's III: Morrowind, great game and OBLIVION when it comes out. Sonic and Knuckles was a fun game and you could put some old SONIC cartridges on to of it to maximize the fun. Remember? ^^

Playstation will ALWAYS be #1 for the time being because of it's support. You can recognize who's in 1st position because everyone who don't know anything about videogames will always call your videogame system PLAYSTATION, no matter if you are waving a purple GameCube in their faces. Like the ATARI in the 70's, the NINTENDO in the 80's and after 95' it was all about the PLAYSTATION. And on a personal note, Nintendo deserves it. Because after 8 years playing 8-bit games on the SNES, when the Playstation comes out with 3D and all they come and pull Donkey Kong Country outta their asses... and i was like WTF??? I coulda been playing games like this since 1989??? FK Nintendo gimme more Toshinden!

If you go back, way back to when microsoft first announced its plans to enter the home videogame console market they said, as plain as day that thier long term goal wasn't JUST videogames, but to get a "set top box" into as many households as they can. Something that can focus on multimedia and movies as well as videogames.

The xbox was the first step, with a focus on gaming as a selling point. Now with the 360, it incorporates ALOT of multimedia features that have NOTHING to do with gaming.

-Voice chat
-PC conectivity
-Movies
-Connecting MP3 players
-Connecting Digital cameras
-Music
-Pictures
-...etc

Microsoft is now finally starting to show what they had in mind with the phrase "set top box"

Man the biggest thing that pisses me off, and I rember we talked about this once, was when sonmy announced PSX no one gave them shit, everyone and their 3rd cousion was like "ohhhh damn! that shit is going to be soooo BAD! I gotta have one!". And when microsoft comes up doing the same thing no one shows them any love.

More seriously though. Microsoft is going through the same things Sony did when the PSP came out. The only difference is they might be getting additional criticizm because Microsoft itself is seen as the "Evil Empire"(in a Spaceballs sort of way) and so people are quicker to criticize. Every system gets some grief when it is first released because so dew people have it that 20 people may know 1 guy whose box didn't work, and each of them tells someone else, and the rumors start to make it look like 20 boxs didn't work. Once more of them are in people's hands we will stop hearing about overheatings and broken disk trays, which are uncommon as a whole, but may make up a heaftier % in the first shipment just due to it being a rush job.

If you are concerned that Sony hasn't gotten enough crap for PSX, they should be recieving a fair amount of it over the next 6 months after Christmas, as people complain about all their friends having their new systems and and debates flare up as to why there was a delay, and Sony delcaring that it may drop yet another bit of functionality from their next system.

Everyone gets their turn, right now is Microsoft and the Xbox 360's though.

PSP is a solid peice of hardware if you negate the sticky button sony refuses to fix, and the easily broken LCD screen. As well as the recycled game selection. Other than that yeah it Roxors!

Although it is a cute media player, but I prefer my Ipod, Ipod NANO FTW!

Well, my friend bought 2, They both work fine. He has been another lucky one with out a fallen package. Haha. I'm gettin one like Kurosan. They will get 100% effeciancy. So yeah, by then PS3 will of came out so I'll just get both. Big dip, why not. Sorry to all those who's 360's f$!#ed up on them.
 
hey I've got an idea! I'm gonna make a custom case for this new computer I'm gonna build and call it a game console. I'm gonna put some controller ports in the front and design the controller to be 20x larger than my hand.

Then I'll make a crappy ass game where all of the player models are exactly the same but with different colors and it'll become the biggest FPS on the market.

... I hate xbox so fucking much

My ps2 just chewed up my madden 06 game on week 16 on season mode and I'm god damn pissed.

Fuck sony, they're fucking cunts. They wouldn't have as many sells if they made durable products; a good chuck of those sells are probably resells. Why even try and argue this?

Figures this hasn't happened to one game ever for me with any nintendo console. Yet this is far from the first time with sony and they've been around a fraction of the time. HURRAY FOR HAVING TO SPEND MONEY REBUYING GAMES, YAY! I'D HAVE TO BE CRAZY FOR NOT BEING A FANBOY ASSKISSER AFTER THAT!

This shit isn't supposed to happen to people that always keep the games in their cases and very dust free, doesn't haul around the system like a cheap toy, and just in general shows a lot of respect and attention to the warefare of his/her console and games.

I would've had this game for cube instead if it wasn't a gift. And what's worse is knowing this is bound to happen again for me in the future with sony products eventually because they're going to continue to be shady business people. Companies that either purposely make short lasting products, or are just too stupid to know how to really don't deserve lisences and such to games from final fantasy, metal gear solid, GTA. They deserve to choke on their own tongues during christmas day. And I don't want to hear BS about "It's not easy" blah blah blah. It's what they get paid to do. I hope they lose their valuable lisences, and someone shoots bottle rockets at their heads.
