i'm just wondering if any of you have run into the problem of having your xbox 360 get 'stuck' while loading ffxi. I find that i frequently get stuck just as playonline drops and loads ffxi, it always gets stuck at "disconnecting from lobby server". its getting rather annoying. have any of you ran into this problem and possibly know the cause? thanks :)

Hmmm never really had the problem loading it. But when you say "disconnecting from lobby server". Do you mean when you're logging off? I do sometimes have this problem, it's pretty rare and usually can see it coming. When you play does your sound ever glitch in the game? Usually happens to me in Sky, or when exping in the Whitegate areas. My sound will end up either going out completely or running 10-30 seconds behind the graphics (very annoying). When I shutdown to fix this, it always crashes the xbox. I know that a few of my friends have this problem as well. SE seemed to have the giltch fixed for quite some time, but it's returned now with the expansion. >< Hopefully they'll fix it again soon! =)

I have had that problem on PC before, but it would be a few seconds at best while loading.

Whenever I logout to FFXI main menu I never have a problem but if I shutdown to go to 360 Dashboard my screen just goes black and I just turn the system off.

I'm still waiting for my 360 to get "red rings of death".

Yeah I have this exact problem too. It's really annoying.

Yeah I've had that glitch where it freezes after i try to log so I end up just turning off my xbox and I have also had the problem with my sound either cutting out or lagging behind in which case i just have to turn off the FFXI music and just have my ipod music solo. So I guess we all just have to deal with it.

I've had the same issue while shutting down, but I've also noticed it only happens to me in Aht Urghan. I've also had a lock up during a campaign battle. A RDM showed up, but his armor graphics hadn't finished loading yet. His whole outfit was a rainbow of pixels. Seeing the opportunity for a unique screenshot, I went over to take one and the xbox froze up in the process of taking the shot. aaaaaand I never got the shot.....

Whenever I shutdown anywhere but a moghouse or an area with low traffic I seem to freeze. I've gotten used to it. >.>

That's the problem I get, it's reoccuring... and I've already traded in my first consol for this one. No rings yet tho *crosses her fingers*

I was unfortunate to get the ring on my current console. I never did do the towel trick with it. I left it off for a couple of days, then bought a can of compressed air and went crazy blowing out every opening I could find on the console, including opening the tray as well. After turning it back on it worked fine and I haven't had any problems with it since. This was probably 5 or 6 months ago.

I've had the "disconnected from lobby server" issue, but very few times. One factor of the problem is in the 360 having to read FFXI from a DVD. But, wth...
