Alright, see the optical out, missed that. I've got a switch for optical so I'll just order a cheap cord to throw on the 360. Still need to organize everything to actually make room for it. As of now I've got an HDMI switch and an optical switch, With PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 to get their video/audio from each of them that way. Wii isn't actually plugged in at the moment, but when it is just the low def cables and out of the TV speakers for sound. Sorry Nintendo, all you deserve this gen, lol.
As for renting COD4, I don't really see the point. If I'm going to get a game to play multiplayer on the 360, it might as well be an exclusive I've skipped over and to own not rent. My real life friend(Prothall) is pressuring me to get Halo. In all fairness i got him into FFXI and Asheron's Call so buying a shooter to play with him is fair enough.
Shadowrun, without a persistent population could be problem, especially with no offline, even worse with me just on the 30 day gold trial still.
Still mulling over my options, maybe I'll get Perfect Dark Zero, I hear it's pretty decent.
As for Gears online, the host advantage isn't really the issue for me. Not even the people who are all hardcore. I instantly got into a game with people talking about how they've been a crew for years and me struggling not to get owned, but I don't see myself having that much fun even knowing what I'm doing. Too many better online games I've got right now for PS3 that I don't have to worry about a gold account for. To me, Gears is an offline game and that's what I got it for - the campaign.
Mass Affect I'm having fun with. It's got its fair share of problems, and I could easily make a rant about what's wrong with it, but it's been fun to play and the story is good. Let's just not go around calling it one of the best games ever made or having a story equal to Star Wars. It was overhyped, and I didn't expect that, but still a good 360 game for me to start out with. I'm only about 6 hours in(according to my save file) , so who knows it could get better and better as it continues).
It, by the way, took me a few hours to understand the combat system, and yes, it's a shooter - with RPG elements, not an RPG with a shooter engine.
Marvel I bought for the PS3 when it came out. I just plain didn't have fun playing it and didn't think any of the characters played like actual superheros.
Forza is fine but without my G25 logitech wheel being accepted, I doubt I'm going to buy any 360 racing games. Just chilling out waiting for GT5P.
I might pick up Marathon off the Xbox Arcade if I can work around a system to a few games I actually want without leftover points. I'm thinking about Marathan, that chess/checkers thing and the marble game.
