Just a simple question, and looking for a simple answer. :D
 
PC is less laggy (but that depends on what PC you have.) i.m.o. offcourse
 
Pros
360 - get to sit in a comfirtable chair, larger screen (for me at least), larger easier to read text, no jittery lag in high populated areas (dynamis, whitegate, ect).

Pc - windower, windower macros (<3), faster load times, larger resolutions


Cons - pretty much the oposite of pros. Take what pc has and put that to 360 and 360 to pc.
 
I've played on both, and imo xbox > pc. Although my desktop is old as dirt, and the screen color is screwed up...

With the xbox360 you can spread out and relax, not confined to a desk and chair. Also I think the graphics are better on xbox, but you get more freedom with pc, if you like to make your own .dats.
 
xbox 360 . if u got a high resolution TV, or simply a PC screen, u can play with the same resolution as a PC, and way less laggy in dynamis for example.
Now if u wanna use windowercheats..
 
I play on both and one thing I don't like about the PC is the fact that I can't use a controller. I can use one, but I can't configure the buttons the way I want them(i.e. the same as xbox setup). I have my PC connected to my tv, a USB extension for my keyboard, and a wireless mouse, so I can sit on the couch with either setup. I like the SS's on PC better than my xbox too because you can capture text and all that fun stuff.

Playing in 360 will save you if SE decides one day to start banning players unfairly because of windower.
 
can you take screen shots of chat in 360 yet?
thats the only thing PC has over xbox.
well, that and TParty.
 
I run FFXI at 2000x2000 and all max settings. You cannot change this resolution through FF Config, it has to be done through the registry. The resolution on 360 is HORRIBLE and comparable to a very bottomline PC.

With PC I get no choppy lag during Dynamis and HNM, I've yet to see my FPS go below 20 anywhere. With my XBOX360 it lags a fuck load to the point where it's unbearable. Less than 5 FPS in a 100+ Dragon's Aery. PC is absolutly fine, I run max settings in every zone.

Have you seen my screenshots? Damn near crystal clear.

I have a controller for PC, it is setup exactly like the PS2. Works great and I can lay down in bed with the 22" LCD moniter. And it's not big and honky like the 360's controller.
 
I'll agree. I regedit'd FFXI on my pc to run at 1680x1050 and I get "sexceptional" screenshots. I get laggy from time to time, but I think that's a shortcoming with my router and the fact that Stine and I run together on one DSL connection.

I've seen Ps2, and I am unimpressed with the resolution. It's good if you can use a keyboard with it though, the macros appear to work easier with a controller. Unsure about Xbox360.
 
PC is the best option if you have a good display and a decent setup. You can run things like MogToolz to turn on AA and change the resolution.
 
If no reg edit 360 version. If you regedit then the PC version hands down. I maxed my setting out when I had a 6800GT with the reg edit and it ran great except for wind/sand storms. With my 7800GT I never really take a fps hit.
 
That reminds me, I need to bump up my background resolution since I got a new monitor last month.
 
Personaly i have both a high powered PC and a 360 ... but i perfer the PC most of the time.


Reason being My interntet connection has a bad habit of disconnecting and reestablishing that connection is easyer on PC than 360..

Also on the 360 i lag in whitegate due to the inablity to turn off shadows. 360 version also lacks custimazablity options that the PC version has. But also most of them are needed becasue the 360 can handle anything FFXI can throw at it, cept in whitegate.

PC > 360 in terms of higerh resolutions
360 > PC in terms of easy to use real-time chat threw the private chat thingy.

But one thing I really like about the 360 is the ability to play music from the hardrive of another computer on the network, Which you cant do on PC without the windower. Anothe thing is that youu have access to your xboxlive Friends list too. and dont forget FFXI acheivments :P



anther reason i like PC over 360 is my set up:

my pc is using dual monitors, 1 is a 19' flat screen lcd monitor, the other is a 37' Visio LCD HDTV with rgb, and HD inputs. So i play PC FFXI on my 37' TV, while using windower(Due to the fact that FFXI wont run in dual scrren mode without it) and then i have my 2nd monitor to look stuff up on of waste time while seeking

PC wins even without regedit. 360 Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaags.

The only thing I really liked about the 360 is the the headset feature, although a bit laggy/choppy, it still worked well enough to coordinate plans when duoing BCNMs and missions.

However as Claudhert mentioned, you can't play/change music on PC but you can on 360's hard drive...If you have a media based keyboard for PC, you can play, skip, fast-forward, rewind, etc without windower.
 
Sticking with the PC seems to be the best bet for me. I might still get Xbox for back-up. Expect a post later on what I can do for my PC to kick ass even during Besieged. XD My computer can already run pretty well, I actually just need to get better resolution. XD
 
i cant belive no one has mentioned this yet U HAVE TO LEAVE THE DAMN GAME IN THE 360 and you have to listen to that damn ANNOYING HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM of the damn cd drive the whole fucking time piece o shit xbox
