XBox 360 VS PC

lol, Janull you're 360 must suck or you stand it vertically.

You don't have to alt+tab :) ( just click in the window) and I run 3 windows at a time with no slow down unless im in whitegate. FFxi is far from taxing on a decent or high end pc. I run my desktop at 1600x1200 and each ffxi-window at 1280x1024.

Also iI use usb ps2 adapter, I only use keyboard for chat.

When I was dual-boxing Antor and Artem while leveling Beastmaster I found it to be a lot easier to not have to switch between two PCs.

This is offtopic, but I'm curious about upping the resolution on the PC. Someone mentioned adding AA as well via a third party application.

How far can you amp the resolution? How much better does it look than the highest FFXI Config allows? What was that, 1024? Also, how tastefully is the third party AA implemented? Is it a legit site that offers the program? >.>

My new setup (I'm just waiting on the motherboard to be replaced. They sent it to me DOA,) will have a 1.8GHz dual core Intel, which I'll probably OC well past 2GHz, 2GB of RAM, and an 8800GT (the 320MB, or lite D:, version,) so I think I can get away with a lot.

First off, be sure to grab some third party drivers, like from guru3d, for your 8800GT for playing FFXI. The Nvidia ones don't seem to play well with FFXI.

As for the app, I use mogtoolz http://themogtoolz.free.fr/. You just use the high profile and set the resolution to whatever you want. I also recommend increasing the amount of max sounds to 40.

I have no problems what-so-ever with an 8800GTS on FFXI with the official NVIDIA drivers.
