I get /tell all the time from people thinking im Reya, hopeing next time some mistakes me and gives me gil ;)
 
There used to be a Lyria, a mithra. I remember partying with him all that time back. He quit a while ago, but we'd always poke eachother or wave when we've passed. I've only gotten misstells for him a few times. I don't know if there's a Lyra or anything.

But there's a Nyana and my mule is Niana. I ran into that person once, and they were a real n00b. Makes me check everytime I send stuff to my mule so I don't accidentally send it to someone else!

It does get annoying though, when someone with a simmilar name is a real jerk, but other than that it can be pretty amusing.
 
Lol, I was in game for about 3 mins the other day just to send a few things to a friend, and I was followed and /checked by Mirwen 4x.
I was about to say "[hello!]" till I realized the name was missing the "e".

I had that issue with Asialamie in the past. People kept pointing to me and /shout'ing "gilseller" etc. etc. /sigh

There is this n00b named "Daryus" in my LS... He's actually a really good guy and player so no need to worry about your mule getting a bad rep.

I was playing one of my alts "Yaka" and decided to solo a little in Konscat Highlands. I started killing some stuff and someone had the nerve to say to me: {Japanese} {Leave} {I want experience points}.

Well I can't really imagine somone being a worse blm than mire...so this really is a good thing, maybe people will think you are the other mirwen...
 
Oddly enough, there are no characters with names close to mine.... Though once a long time ago a friend made a mule named Reasvelg just to screw with people in the LS. :D

I'm kinda shocked i haven't seen anyone with names similar to my own...seems like a popular choice to me (and very unimaginative :P).
 
lol I remembered one day... I was pting as my rdm, we didnt have another whm so leader invited another rdm, he was a person from China. Suddenly, he starts /telling me, asking me for gil. "Give me back gil, you buy sushi, give me back gil" and I say... "What are you talking about? O.o" "Give me my gil" I was very confused, didn't understand anything. Then he started harrasing me "I'm gonna call GM, you are a bad bad person, you won't give me back my gil" and I was like HUH?! then he started shouting bad things about me in jeuno... saying that I was a thief and I don't remember what more shit he said, but anyways, when someone from my pt talked to him to clear things the problem was that... omg, he was confusing me with another player, that didn't pay him back sole sushi or something like that. It was a terrible nighmare. -.- He didn't even apologize. /sigh

One day when I learn to speak squiggle-and-square, I'mma tell em I've been undercover this whole time trying to steal money from friends. Then I'll take their money and rule Vana'diel... no, the world!

i have a character named taruwarru that holds my melee equipment for my 3 characters. well put it this way lol

think i have a clone running around to. Was in qufim couple day ago got tells from 3 diffent people confusing me with someone else. It quite understandable you think of all the name that have been taken in 2 years there bound to be some that are almost alike.
