You know, I'm acquainted with people who are probably much better known than any of the posters here (who would concur with my arguments). But it would be nothing short of weak to use that as an argument on something that shouldn't require much more than an intelligent discussion of the use cases--something which neither uzor nor neophytal has provided.

You can sit here and lol amongst yourselves, but I hope that's not how you try to convince people in meetings and negotiations in real life...

Then why even bring it up? Your belief is that people who have auto-refresh gear rely on it, correct? No one said they rely on auto-refresh gear, just that its nice to have. If someone finds utility in something and you don't, they're automatically "playing their job wrong". Please correct me if I'm wrong.
