[QUOTEneophytal]dalmatica is same as osode. its situational. most people macro osodes for ws... and in some cases use for tp. thus coming back to the word... macros.. once again......... lol
[/quote] you compare the dalmatica to osode:shok: . odose is used for how many jobs? mnk, brd, sam, war heck any job that can use it wants it, and why not 10 all stats and 30 mp. Only wish rdm could use. Now tell me this for brd would you say that dalmatica is better then osode?

I'd agree with the last 2, which is why I would like a dalmatica as well as crimson. though I think that the af2 hat with af2 body would be better for the first 3. I never said dalmatica sucked I said it waaaaaayyy overrated and would not be even in top 3 of best rdm bodies. Why is it you people always take things to the extreme meaning. I say it overrated, you take it to mean it sucks. I say parser is cheating, you take it to mean it the worse cheat in the world. Every thread same people always jumping to the extremes

As for 2-3 body w body would replace errant body(or whatever you using for enf/nuke), would replace what ever body you using for convert, and what ever body you using for ws when soloing.

edit: for some reason it stuck in italics.

No, it wouldnt replace errant body, beause you STILL need it for HMP5, and -3 Enmity. Honestly, trading 40 MP (The HP is irrelevant) for -3 Enmity is well worth it.

And no, AF2 Body is not better than dalmatica at doing any of the things listed by Courtney. Adding AF2 hat to the mix just makes it that much better.

I cant remember the last time i've seen Elvaankitty using her W.Body for anything but standing around.

Well, tbh, I tend to switch in AF1 hat and AF2 body for haste and refresh to cut down the cast time and recast time on them, thus going through the circle faster, and then switch back to AF2 hat. But it doesn't really make that much of a difference. Its only like 1 sec less recast time or so >.>

actually I said af2 hat but same diffence. you get the healing magic and fast cast of body while still keeping 1 refresh of the hat.

-3 enm you kidding right? 5mp/h well have af1+1 and yegit, but even that dont matter because in merit you have good old convert. Btw if you had dalmatica you be lossing -3enm to.

And -3 enm every time you attempt to debuff an HNM, especialy long fights like wyrms and stuff, -3 adds up. 40 MP means nothing.

First off you would not be using errant for wyrms you be using af1 body. Secoundly even then -3enm do hardly anything when you cast cure with diffent body and gain lots of hate, thirdly think of times between enf, and think of what you have to beat. The tanks, the blms, the rng/sam/mnks, the brds, the whms. Something tell me they going get more hate then little old me casting slow II and bio II. and finally most rdm wear penitent's rope and the serious rdms have tamas.

edit: but while we talking about wyrms -10% breath attacks and 40hp is not bad for living aginst a dragon moves

No, Courtney is correct. It’s the best body piece for all the situations that she listed listed.

Why do you need enhanced fast cast for casting Refresh and Haste? Both spells are usually cast in cycles, and assuming you’re able to stick to this cycle there is no reason to cast these spells any faster or reduce their recast times, when compared to just keeping the Dalmatica on. You also mentioned healing magic; do you even play FFXI?

Crimson Scale Mail does not replace 2-3 body pieces. Many items that RDM uses on this slot are situational; having a Convert piece (for which personally I feel W.body is only suited to Tarutarus) does not mean that it will completely replace other pieces. I’m going to assume you’ll still need whatever body piece you used to convert before, you’ll still need hMP on body whether it is from Errant or Yigit and there are certainly better pieces to solo with. Replacing certain roles and replacing items altogether are different things. If you used AF/AF2/whatever to convert before, you’re probably still going to need those items. Also, while meriting I don’t see how you can think Crimson Scale Mail is better than Dalmatica; there’s no reason at all to take the Dalmatica off.

Lastly, have you even fought wyrms before? Judging by the fact that you seem to think -10% to breath attacks is useful, I’m going to say no. The only reason I see for using AF1 body is to enfeeble, most of the time it’d be ideal to either be wearing AF2 to reduce Stun recast (with DRK sub), or Dalmatica for MP regen. It'd really help if you gave half a thought to your posts in advance, instead of looking at item stats and including them all, useful or not.

Well, breath attack goes for more then just dragons. The Aht Urhgan crawler's fire breath move, crawler's poison breath etc. are also breath attacks.

Although that's a moot point since you don't ever really fight those at 73+... Although I suppose it could be usefull for lolWyverns from Dragoon mobs in Dynamis <.<;

refresh and haste also dont take up much mp so why us dalmatica? If you not you not converting every 10 min you are wasting mp. (downtime not included) As for the 5mp/h i use my af+1. Also yes I have fought wyrms and have been hit by the breath attack. Also been hit by kirin breath attack move, along with raident breath from wyverns. Ive been killed by some these moves to because they done over 900 dmg.

Because the other spells you're casting do take up MP. Tier II enfeebles take up significant MP. Cure III, IV, Curaga II take up significant MP.

Total usable MP in endgame is the amount of MP you can regenerate, and RDMs have to regenerate it on the run. You don't use it every fight. You do use it for hard fights though, fights where your WHMs are tapped, fights where your party really has to work hard to kill a mob. Fights everyone needs to work really hard to win. It's these fights that Dalmatica really shines. For easy fights it doesn't matter so much though.... but then again for easy fights it really doesn't matter so much what you wear.

And choosing an endgame bodypiece to resist Wyrm breath which won't hit you for significant damage unless you don't know where the hell you're supposed to be standing is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard...
