I remember my first few hours consisted of learning the controls. It took me like 45 minutes to figure out how to open doors. XD Then I spent a few hours running around talking to every single NPC in Windurst (old habit from RPGs, first thing I do in a town is talk to all the NPCs XD). I didn't wander out of town until like my second or third day of playing, and when I did, I died right after zoning out, cuz someone had zoned a goblin. XD Luckily some level 70 SMN (level 70 being the cap at the time; this was a few months before they introduced the Maat fight) raised me after a minute. ^^ I started fighting stuff, and tried to practice running around the mob during fights cuz I thought when I hit 15 and got Sneak Attack, I'd be able to use it mid-fight if I timed it right. XD When I got to level 3, I went and finished the first mission, since Allakhazam recommended that as the minimum level. I got lucky, though; someone had just run through and killed all the goblins, or else I would've died doing that mission. It was some nice JP guy, and he gave me a Bronze Cap one of the goblins dropped. ^^ I remember thinking how everyone in this game was so friendly, because everywhere I'd go, random people would just cast Protect or Cure on me for no apparent reason. XD And I remember trying so hard to make gil... I remember thinking Silk Thread was a goldmine because it sold to NPCs for 200 gil. >.<;; I had no idea what the Auction House was; I'd didn't even know such a thing existed. XD
