I see this mistake a lot everywhere on QCDN.
Let's clear this up
.
You're = "You are" 2 words separated by an apostrophe.
Your = Third party possession.
alot = not a word.
a lot = massive quantities, note it is 2 words.
Now, let's briefly study the several uses of these words.
Incorrect usage of 'you're'.
~You're gear sucks.
When expanded as you can see, this sentence makes no Goddamn sense whatsoever:
~You are gear sucks.
Correct usage of 'you're'.
~You're wearing some suck ass gear.
Notice if you expand the sentence you will get:
~You are wearing some suck ass gear.
_______________________________________________
Incorrect usage of 'your'.
~Your wearing some suck ass gear.
Correct usage of 'your'.
~Your gear sucks.

I'm aware there are a lot of other simple grammatical errors that linger on the boards. But I hope this will help most of you out there that do not know the difference between the correct and incorrect uses of these simple homophones.
Have a nice day
