This derail made me laugh out loud.

on topic post: I started playing ffxi in late 2003, I was 13 years old at the time.

I bought gil several times in 2004, played like a crazy asshole, quit in 2005. came back, played like an idiot again until that big fiasco in 2006, finally came back again in late 2007 and have played casually ever since.

the game is not addictive, and not a strain on your life, as long as you don't let it be.

there is nothing in this game that requires you to spend 15 hours a day 7 days a week playing it. if you think there is:

Playing since 2003, and still only have one Lv. 75 job. Have I let this game ruin my life? Hell no. I know of people, though, who play 10 hours minimum a day and although I admire their dedication to becoming 1337 or having that much more 1337sauce, that is just ridiculous.

just replace every "you" to an "I" and then its fine, seriously I agree but I still enjoy this game. Sometimes I am (but shouldn't be) torn between RL and this game. You can't go to a bar and say sup baby, I'm a 75 war and have killed fafnir! .. Yeah that isn't getting anyone anywhere. I mean do we really need to flame someone for quitting? I think psylent should quit and find his life outside of qcdn lol. yeah yeah quote me and tell me how much of a life you have please, we're all waiting for it.

I don't have warrior at 75. Are you talking about yourself now? I keep my RL and gaming life separate and do it very well. What I don't need is a teenage kid that doesn't know how to control himself preaching about how the game is a timesink and everyone who plays is it somehow not getting it. The person who doesn't seem to get it is the one who lets the game take over their life.

On the other hand I don't mind the potshot, I don't post much on this board and don't much care about my reputation. But when you tell me to find my life outside of QCDN after posting abhorring Good Times thread about tanking JoL and then get butthurt when Jamal made fun of you, there's not much room to speak.

urrmm correct me if im wrong.. but isnt that part of being a teenager.. is not having to worry about self control.. or the lack there of? I mean come on he is just a kid.. if he realized that he messed up.. then yay for him.. dont dog him for it.. I know alot of adults that lack self control, and cant admit it. Least he had the ballz to do so.
