Zelda (opinion) Which one is the best?

Link to the Past and Wind Waker are probably the best, but my favorite is still Link's Awakening because it surprised me they could cram so much Zelda goodness on a Game Boy cartridge.
Good point. It also came out at a time when games like this were few and far between!

all of the zelda games were great, well except for majora's mask.. it made me cry, to lose kid link forevers ;_; (i want him back... nows!)
oh as anyone heard what they are going to call the new zelda... i heard it is darkness and stuffs

Seriously tho, what was good about windwaker?

Did I miss something? Do I need to wipe thedust off the case and play it again?

If someone who liked it could please explain this to me, I would listen.
Mainly because I feel like a bad person for not liking a Zelda game.

I mean, I liked and still own and play Zelda and Link for nintendo.
I own Lttp and still play thru it every once in a while. I have Ocarina of time for GC as well as Master Quest that came with Windwaker when you pre-ordered it. I have a Copy of Majora's mask, don't play it much tho, it was unrealisticly hard, and even I had to use a walkthru.

I even bought a GBA just to see if that opened up some interesting side quest with the little elf guy(I think his name was tinker maybe?).

The only redeeeming quality was the new tools, which you didn't get to use hardly at all in any of the 4 dungeons.

The graphics were awesome, one of the best Storylines in the series, the last boss battle was wow, it felt epic, the personality they put into everyone, the music, the wind waker was cool, the story, the story, the story, clever puzzles, fun bad guys, Hyrule castle.....need I go on?

First and foremost, I dig Link's Awakening above all others, though I, like many of you, am a die-hard fan of all the games. What stuck out for me was the storyline in the game, how it didnt take place in Hyrule, and the whole Windfish idea. If you beat the game, you know what im talking about. If you didnt....Well, go play that game and beat it.

And what was so great about Wind Waker? What -wasnt-? Okay, if you didnt 100% the game, youre missing out on a ton of stuff. The whole Pictobox dealy, all the submarines, finding all the treasures buried at sea, getting all the squares of the map, getting all the heart pieces, finding -All- the fairy fountains, the merchant subquest, the picto subquest, the various odd-jobs you can do around the towns, the spattering of minigames, the 'extra' items you dont need but can still get..

To my knoweldge, theres more than the four dungeons, too. Theres Dragoon Roost Island, Forbidden Woods, Forsaken Fortress, Hall of the Gods, Earth Temple, Wind Temple, Gannons Tower, and theres likely one other i'm missing.

Ontop of all of that, as Sabia pointed out, the story is badass. What remains of the world, 400 years after the events on LoZ:OoT? How is that not cool. The whole legend about Link and everything, magnificent. 'The boy clad in green clothing of the forest who appeared out of nowhere and slew the fiend'.

Anyways. You should really take a second look at the game. But Link's Awakening was a sorrowful story, the ending made me want to tear up if I were capable of that function. Being a man, however, I am not. So I just sniffled and went on about my day.

How is a flooded world not cool?

...ever seen that one movie "Water World"?
and the story sucked.

Another thing that pissed me off was not getting to use my sword in the Forsaken Fortress.

The graphics were too cartoon like.

I did get all the pieces of map and the sunken treasures, got most of the heart containers, did a little of the picto box quest(boring).

Sorry yall, I just can't like that game.

Gotta find a new game to play for when I don't have time to commit to a party online. Just Finished playin Lufia II, Killed the slime at the bottom of the ancient cave and the Egg Dragon in the same day (that's right, I'm the man).

/em goes to download links awakening and an emulator

Did anyone like Oracle of the Ages, or Oracle of the Seasons?

I didnt get these and was wondering if they were any good.

OoT was hands down my favorite zelda game, with MM a close second (I just hate playing as young link when compared to adult link, I am not sure why)

Wind Waker had the potential to be the best, but the lack of dungeons just killed it for me.

The only zelda game I can say that I did not like too much was Zelda 2. But zelda 2 is the best game ever made compared to the HORRIBLE Zelda games made for the CD-i. Now I am curious how many of you played that those 3 piles of garbage.

Ocarina of time...

'nuff said tyvm

Ocarina brought Zelda to another lvl IMO.

I think the best is yet to come.... I'm sure you all have seen the trailer for the new one, right? That will pwn joooooooooooooo!

Original Zelda was great, though im not good enough to play through it on the super hard mode. Gotta love it's old school goodness.

Link's Adventure (zelda II)... I always enjoyed this game. It did unforutnately have a horrible overworld map. But the side scrolling action was fun to me, lots of interesting boss fights in that game, and.. the introduction of Link using real magic. The music wasn't so bad either.

A Link to the Past. Fantastic game, and so much to go and do in that game. Not to mention it looked great, even now considerering the platform. It still is an awesome game. Further launching the Zelda series's popularity. My personal favorite out of the series so far.

Ocarina of Time. Brilliant game, and loads of fun at the time. Though for the life of me.. I just can't replay that game anymore now, don't know what it is. Though I loved it and had so much fun playing it when I first got it.

Majora's Mask... I have nothing good to say about this one. I never played it and never will. End of that.

Windwaker. Absolutely stunning game. If you haven't experienced it, you should and if you did play it and didn't enjoy its utter beauty you are indeed a crazy person. I was even skeptical and unhappy about the game's art design at first, but then I bought the game and gave it a chance and it completely surprised me. Visually the game is fantastic, and gameplay wise it is equally as good. The cartoony graphics just work for this game.

I don't own any of the GameBoy Legend of Zelda titles nor played them so I can't make any comments about them.

The new Zelda has me (and everyone else) drooling with excitement. It may become my new favorite in the series.

/shrug I thought it was unique and challenging. For me, it is a tie with Ocarina because they are so different...though - I do <3 ALL of the Zelda's. Link is so hot ;)
