Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright are preparing to conclude their "Three-Flavor Cornetto Trilogy" (aka "The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy") with "The World's End," a spoof to accompany their earlier works, "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz." When the Guardian asked the British writing partners if the title referred to some sort of science fiction/doomsday theme, Wright cryptically replied, "It's kind of going in that direction."
Pegg and Wright mentioned that the Cornetto spoof trilogy is itself a larger reference to Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colors Trilogy ("Blue," "White," and "Red" for the colors of the French flag). "Shaun of the Dead" featured a strawberry flavored Cornetto, "Hot Fuzz" showcased the original flavor, and "World's End" will some how work a mint chocolate chip Cornetto into the story.
