75 NA BLU on bismarck

Off of the top of my head, only a handful of jobs has AF that all pieces are useful.

I dunno, RDM pants/gloves/feet aren't all that great. And even though I've had a 75MNK for about a year I haven't even finished the legs AF quest yet.

RDM pants are pretty decent for exping in at its level compared to what there is. I can't really think of anything that great around 56 :| at 62-64ish (Druid Slops?) there's those other pair of pants that are nice until Errant pants (or Zenith pants) but those weren't out when I leveled through there

remind me what is your experience as monk to say that?

remember just all monk does not have enough gils to pay SH. When I was 60-75 SH was 14millions (remember those time), ok now it is back to 6millions, but body is not that bad for an AF
Head, for chi blast it is perfect.
Hands for boost chi blast it is perfect
Legs untill you get Shura or byakko they are not bad
feet: Good for Eva when you farm alone.

Monk is one of the JOB that AF is not bad at all for people who do not get gils easily.

Finaly, as we don't know how will be AF for BLU, Cor, or pup we can't say if it will be good or not but to my idea and Vermy cloak or A SH is not an equipement for BLU

Rdm and Whm AF are rather pitiful.. Rdm AF body/chapeau are it.. rest are dead space (you can argue the pants are good for main healing with +healing +enhancing and +3mnd, but I will be happy with my +3int +3mnd pants) boots/gloves suck aside solo.

Whm AF... 100% useless aside maybe the hat and the mitts. Body is cute, Vermy is better if you can spare the omg-enmity which i have yet to see work. Legs? Well for Mithra RSE kills it.. Feet? Mannequin pumps level them.. so yeah... hopefully the new AF is ya know, actually WORTH wearing aside "I'm cute, wear me".

SH is horribly overrated (though it's a godsend when your party goes after Torama), I got through to 75 just fine on AF body. And if you think that Enhanced "Boost" Effect is only good for Chi Blast... I'm not sure why I'm even bothering to talk to you.

it depends on your race. i used sh+1 (yeah yeah no comments) and some other really good gear, but you can really tell a difference with the gear.

unfortunately, i mean, what makes a good monk and a bad monk in a party (outside of someone making dumb mistakes like provoking a mob or not sc'ing right)-- is really, well, their food and gear selection. a good skill player, cant make their player WS higher. cant make them more accurate. cant make them hit harder per fist...

but that was my biggest thing, ACC... im elvaan, and yeah, miss more than a mithra would just off base ACC for example.. but my STR is way better, VIT is better... so SH+1 was a godsend for leveling MNK because when i was parsing for 95% ACC, i was tough to beat with damage.

long story short.... yeah, AF is okay i guess, but there was definitely some better gear here and there to take advantage of.

That, um... was my argument. MNK AF is not anything amazing, but you're not going to be flat-out gimp for not wearing it, unlike most melee jobs and Hauby, or other such. (And enough of the Mithra vs Elvaan accuracy, at level 75, MNK/WAR vs MNK/WAR, there is 10 DEX difference between us, that's 5 accuracy, a single sniper's ring)

There is SH, O-kote, Federation Kyahan, Republic Subligar, and Voyager Sallet available, all much better than AF... but again, unlike most other jobs, AF is still a halfway decent alternative.

There is no discussion that better gear give better damages, just Neo you have 4 jobs 75 and I am not sure Monk was you primary job. It was mine,, and since now I can afford the SH, spectacles, brown belt etc I couldn't before I hit lvl 75. Ok I was surely not the best monk ever but I did always good in XP party.

I hate now to judge people on their equipements, I prefer someone full AF who know his job than someone full of better gear playing the job with no qualities.
I never judged someone to his equipement, If you had time and if you wanted to get the gils for your equipement just consider everyone is not like you.

I didn't have the time to farm for hours and lvl job to 75, so full AF till the end and that was ok.

I just couldn't justify spending another month nonstop farming to afford a SH, which was only +5 accuracy over my current gear, so I just bought another Sniper Ring, and SE was kind enough to introduce Sole Sushi right as I hit Toramas. Already had O-kote, Spartan Cesti, and a couple other things.


And Neo, my point was that 10 DEX can be compensated for with a single peice of equip. Maybe if I had Byakko's Haidate and other DEX+ gear, I could push DEX high enough to where it starts affecting crit rate. But right now, it doesn't, and thus 5 accuracy is the only difference. 10 STR, on the other hand... only single-equip replacement for that is Pallas/Alk's bracelets, and that kills DEX, thus removing any ability to balance Mithra and Elvaan using them. Plus I lose O-kote / B-kote / Melee Gloves in that slot.

Gear and Skill(for lack of a better word) meet halfway. If you're not willing to get above average then you're not a good player, and if you're not willing to understand basic party setups/strategies you're not a good player.

yep! taru rse feet are pretty good for them. nice str piece.

understandable, i used those two.. but i leveled monk much later and had a rajas ring (yeah, some dex) but lost some acc from not using 2 sniper rings, but made that up with the sh+1

well, yeah, it can be made up. but im just saying, theres a huge difference in acc on evasive mobs if i put on my snipers ring, verses my flame ring.

i dont have haidate either, so i cant really say, my acc would probably shoot up a good bit from that alone.... i lost acc+12 but gained dex+10 by going to osode from sh+1, so i lost relatively what, 7 acc there? big difference, believe me. try taking off your spectacles on a VT mob.

Got an assload of beastmen's seals saved up, gonna be trying for a PCC tomorrow.

When going after evasive mobs, I use Sushi just like everybody else. I can't say I like it, but... IT THF-type mobs... I don't think it's even possible to get above 80% hit rate on those without every peice of accuracy available to MNK, or sushi. And in places like Bhaflau Thickets, just I save Focus for when we run out of Puks and somebody pulls a Mamool Ja Lurker or such.

No I didn't Have brown belt untill last week. I had life belt. For the feet it is a long time I have Tarutaru RSE, I Still have them now.

Now I am 75 I had the luck to GET SH, Spect, brown, AF2 hands.

I find it funny the the amount of haters on this thread, I have yet to read anywhere of this guy bragging, or rubbing it in anyone's face. Reminds me of the people who hate the rich people for being rich. I myself lvl very slowly, and have taken this attitude in the past, but I fessed up to what it is, jealousy. Even if you think it takes no life to reach 75 in 3 weeks, so what? Why even state it, unless your express purpose is to insult him. Why insult him when you could LEARN from him on things about the job at higher lvls. Same way some people complain about ingame economy, while others study it and try to adapt.
