Don't worry guys, I don't think this will last. Right now, all the melee are happy that they can "out damage" us, ect. Once they find out it's going to be harder to get their endgame items, take longer on God fights, make them spend more money on sleeping potions for TP Regen, they will be upset. How many HNMs outside of Sky do RNG get abjurations from? Yeah...so I'm glad all you melee are excited about the nerf. I was pretty upset about it at first, then I thought for a while.
"Hey, now I won't have to piggy back all these melee to get their endgame items, sweet!" So it's your turn to work out endgame events the hard way, instead of us doing it for you. A challenge for you, "balance". I'm sure you'll ALL reply "I enjoy a good challenge, it will make the game more fun!" Well, here's your shot to have some fun, good luck.

Btw, difference between DRG nerf and RNG nerf. DRG/SAM nerfnig only effected DRGs, this effects everyone.

End quote.

Shouldnt of posted this.. people are just gonna say "all these rangers think they are the best... im happy they got nerffed LOLOLOL"

Meh, I'm still for the change. You guys got shafted in how much the change was, but the change itself was needed. The same thing happened when the exp change occured. Everyone said it's going to be minor, and then they cut out a huge chunk of exp. Obviously, SE does not believe in small "corrections".

I also don't think that it will really effect those kind of activities, since you tend to stay back anyways; now you just have to stay back a little further. No one has still answered my question of how this would effect those kinds of things. Yes, you can't solo anymore, that really sucks but I doubt that was intentional. In an exp party, if you can't spread out that much, I can see how that would effect your performance, but in most camps you can spread out a bit. I think the same thing would happen in those kinds of fights, you just back up more to get into the "ideal" range.

Way to further prove a point about the nerf. Encounters shouldn't be about stacking one job.

Ahhh... the acceptance stage! Funny thing is... does anyone think that they will un-nerf RNG because it will take longer to do things endgame? hehe! Everything in this game takes a lot of time.

Not at all, like I said before, if anything, this'll make Square retune counters to not require kiting, and make melee damage par with ranged damage against those types of monsters.

The thing is Baj they just didn't make it so we need to stay back. They severly nerfed our DMG from the sweet spot and the ACC of the sweet spot is pretty low. Like I've said a billion times today making us move back is understandable but reducing our ACC and DMG was a little much. You'd think sweet spot would really be a sweet spot where ACC is high and DMG is high but it's not. I still think RNG's will be in the lead for Kirin/kited mobs seeing as they don't have to chase as bad as melee type jobs but it's definatly a great cut in the time it will take to kill them. We'll just have to see.

Well it's true. We DID shine overall. They already are happy we got nerfed as well. It gives them a chance lets just see how they do it. I personally think it'll be more of a "Ok guys lets stack BLM now". I'm not afraid of the retal I may recieve as I full believe his post is 100% on the dot and I stand by my words.

I just tried BCNM 40 Worm's Turn. It took almost twice as long to kill them all with 3 RNGs. You can seriously notice a difference now. It may not be noticable in parties, but elsewhere it is.

i agree with strid on that last bit, this all does seem a bit much, even from a monk standpoint. The dmg nerf on tough mobs was all around from my understanding, compound that with the sweet spot problem it's kinda lame. Why should they have had to sack acc at all?

I had never heard of being further away meant less accuracy before, so that's news to me other than people mentioning it in these threads. Rng gets and insane amount of racc though, so I find it very hard to believe that they'd suffer from horrible accuracy at such a distance.

Also, I didn't see a severe nerf in terms of damage in the thread that was posted about the testing. He suffered a small drop in damage, less than 10 from the sweet spot, that's hardly a reason to say rng's are useless.

Was listening to Neo tell me about their Kirin fight after the rng nerf. 40 mins into the fight and kirin is still at 80%. Yep, things are going to take much much longer now. :x

My God LS just got done with Kirin, we had been killing for about 2-3 hours and he was at like 60 percent still. We had 2 BLM, I think more will be needed later on. The mob level effects dmg now. I was seeing barages for 17-70 DMG, reg ranged attacks for around 40-60 DMG, and Slug Shots and Sidewinders for around 250-300 DMG... IF they hit. And no, these RNG did not have gimp equipment. Hellfire +1, God gear, Trailer Kukris, E-Bows, and Merits in STR and ranged weapons. I didn't think the update would be this bad and the standing back part really isnt that big of a deal, but DMG just cant be produced on level 90 mobs, because their DMG is effected by the mob level. I think that is the problem.

Because they're still used to the old strategy, the change is so sudden. Give it some time and things will definately be smoother 8)

I for one am not happy about the nerf, despite not being a rng of any noteworthy level. Were they overpowered? Hell, yes. But it was to the advantage of the entire party. I had no gripe against rng just because they could outdamage even a blm (my main job). I still felt useful because I still did excellent damage and had utility spells they couldn't match-- Escape, Warp II, etc.

But don't blame the melee jobs in your anger. If you think that SE actually listened to a customer enough to make a change in gameplay, then you really are raving mad right now.

The only way it could be smoother is to toss BLM's at it in the same style. Let the crying about BLM's begin hardcore now.

im gonna be laughing my ass off when everyone starts stacking Blm into the ranger spots for these events. think about it, tell rngs its no big then still get what you want using the exact same strat with a different but equally deadly job.
thats either irony or BS, just depends on what side your on i guess.

I can't believe the arrogance...

Geez, as much as I don't appreciate the amplitude of this change (imo, it will be patched), it's sad to see the reaction of others, especially some rangers.

People in sky get equipment over your back? Really? Who do you think is served first? Who equips about all gods can drop, not to mention a fair number of cursed/abj. items? (hint: you) You don't think it was FAIR that RNG worked a bit more (meaning: has to pay for arrows to do the big numbers cuz otherwise, they spent the same time in sky than others as far as I know) than say a BLM, a BRD or whatever, who is much needed but gets shafted no matter who does the damage??? Sure RNG did 75% of the damage during a god fight but guess what? the RNG group in a sky LS gets 75% of the cool drops and some people who are much needed get 1% and do much more than helping 1%. So stop bitching guyz. That update sucks, the change is too big, but stop saying people leeched equipment over your back. You get what you want out of that too, and usually pretty early on, and it's thanks to team work not just you and your god damn arrows or bolts.

I want to add that the people sitting on the side waiting for full boost to chi-blast, or the thf waiting for the last 5% to come in, or the spirits-within whores, they're not happy about that. They're spending the same time you are GETTING BORED, instead of fighting. And believe me, anyone would rather eat expensive food and kick some gods' ass rather than that. It so happens that SE screwed up how gods can be fought and melees FROM THE START got the biggest shaft ever.
