Some day someone needs to show me how to add links... I found it rather intresting to see not one but FIVE videos of Acorn supporting illegal activities in each state the videos were shot in. Seems they support human trafficking and Child prostitution as well as cenus and polling data. These people were up to recieve somethign like 50 million in stimula funds, as well as the job of taking the next census survey. Incase I was not clear. One video per state. Each Video acorn offices. In one was a man talking about his connections to sneak underaged girls into the US for prostitution. It was also found prior that Acorn made deals with Citibank to give illegal immigrants home loans.

These are the same people who registered people in multiple states to vote. Were one man was registered 5 times. The dallas cowboys some how were registered to vote in AZ. I find this very disturbing. Please call/write/spam your congressmen and senators. These people need to have the law thrown at them. This type of behavior should not be tolerated. So far they are losing federal money. I feel they should pay back every dime and be fined so harshly that no one would ever think of doing these things. Prosecute these horrible people to the furthest extent of the law.

I am sure there are good people who work for Acorn, but there needs to be a full accounting of everything Acorn has done. All who are guilty NEED to face the law. Those who are innocent should try to put things back together in a way that will help Acorn be what it was meant to be. It is sad to see what is supposed to be an advocate for people as nothing more than a cesspool of vicious human rights crime.

I am sorry if I offended anyone, but I can not tolerate the abuse of children, let alone people using our government funds to do it.

You can just copy&paste the URLs in to your post, which would be very helpful because i have a hard time digesting all the information i'm being slapped with in this post.

Who or what is acorn and why are we mob mentality pitchforking over what they do?

ninja edit: nvm its apparently some kinda outreach company that gets paid to do census and give ppl business advice.

The videos keryan talks about are set-ups where some paid actors (like a white pimp lol) tried at different places to get people to say something that could get acorn in trouble, apparently for political means. Whoop-de do.

I'll go back to ignoring politics now.

I'd like to see said recordings and more background facts before I build an opinion about the whole ordeal. Just because undercover journalists recorded them saying stuff doesn't mean they (the company as a whole) actually support it, nor does it mean the company heads do.

It can be anything from company guidelines saying you can't deny a customer leading to them playing a long, but not actually going through with it after, or the people themselves thinking its so stupid that it can't be real.

The ACORN thing cracks me up. They're community organizers who help poor people negotiate better wages, rent, etc., but the right-wingers have turned them into the modern-day Black Panther movement. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that one of their tasks is voter registration, and poor black people aren't as likely to vote Republican.

Acorn got about 3 million a year in federal funds for their stuff and have zero clout in Washington, D.C., but the right is losing its shit because a few employees humored some "undercover" FOX producers. Meanwhiile, we're still tossing ungodly sums of money at groups like Blackwater and Halliburton and mortgage companies without a peep. Again, it's okay to spend money to kill people and make their lives miserable, but never to make their lives better.

Sometimes I wish the GOP would just start wearing white hoods. They'd feel more relaxed if they didn't try to hide all the race-baiting.

In response to this, really, how likely is it that the questioned employee have several contacts in the country they choose to ask as the best to traffick people out of?

Here's how they were dressed. You can see DJ Jazzy Trevor strutting around in this outfit in one of the videos. I'd probably laugh myself into a fit if he came into the office asking for advice and play to the cameras while looking for Ashton Kutcher.

This came up at a meeting the other day. We get our share of kooks and crazies calling in, and you just try to humor them and send them on their way. The lady confessing to shooting her husband to the "investigator" in the video did no such thing. In any organization, there's always a few employees who shouldn't be allowed to answer the phone and interact with the public. That's hardly a sweeping indictment of the entire group (unless you work for Fox News or have a last name like Limbaugh, Beck, or O'Reilly).

It happened in more than one city.

James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles are FOX producers?! :coco:

They have zero clout in DC? They've been at every DNC since 1980 and have had many members elected as delegates.

There's been plenty of noise over government spending, Halliburton; Blackwater; The entire damned Bailout, all have people angry and making noise.

Honestly, both parties have strayed from what they once were. Our entire government needs to be stripped and rebuilt.

No, but they've given them enough footage playing on an endless loop that they may as well be on the payroll at this point. That joke backfired, and that's my fault.

If ACORN had as much pull as the right seems to think they have, they wouldn't have been cut off at the knees by both sides of the aisle on the funding issue. Nobody, Democrat or Republican, is worried about offending ACORN. They have no power on the national scene.

Last time I checked, Limbaugh and the rest weren't running daily calls for investigations into Bush's spending in Iraq and Afghanistan and demanding that funding be pulled from mercenaries and corporate robber barons getting rich off the Middle East, howling that he sold out our nation.

I recently broke my arm, and I need help moving some stuff in my car, could you come and help me? It's nothing too heavy, I just can't do it with this cast on my arm.

Hmmm... It would seem Acorn supports reporting slavers to the police, those sick, corrupt bastards.

Police: ACORN worker in video reported couple

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (AP) -- Police say a worker with the activist group ACORN who was caught on video giving advice about human smuggling to a couple posing as a pimp and a prostitute had reported the incident to authorities.

National City police said Monday that Juan Carlos Vera contacted his cousin, a police detective, to get advice on what to do with information on possible human smuggling.

Vera was secretly filmed on Aug. 18 as part of a young couple's high-profile expose.

Police say he contacted law enforcement two days later. The detective consulted another police official who served on a federal human smuggling task force, who said he needed more details.

The ACORN employee responded several days later and explained that the information he received was not true and he had been duped.

Vera was fired on Thursday.

LMAO yea ok. ACORN are nothing more then a bunch of race pimps who blackmail financial institutions into giving out millions of dollars to dead beats.

Let me educate the readers on EXACTLY how ACORN works:

1) A bunch of LOSERS in your local urban area (take your pick) with no jobs, no prospects, and horrible credit decide they all want to be homeowners.

2) They cry to ACORN to help them.

3) ACORN stands outside of Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase etc. with signs that say their racists because they won't "help people".

4) Because political correctness has run horribly amuck, against their better judgement, they quickly give in and lend out the money.

5) When the dirt bags, who could never have afforded the $500,000 house on welfare to begin with start to get foreclosed on because they HAVENT MADE A SINGLE PAYMENT they go back to ACORN.

6) ACORN stands outside of Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase etc. with signs that say their racists this time because the "evil banks" gave them loans they couldn't afford.

7) So according to ACORN the racist banks who didn't want to lend to people who could not afford a house are now racists anyway because they lent money to people, under direct pressure from ACORN, whom they knew could never pay it back.

THAT'S ACORN in a nut shell folks. Don't let far left liberals tell you different.

Didn't say they were all blameless, but then again I also don't believe a few hidden camera interviews with people who may well have been playing along with people they perceived as idiots automatically means the entire organization is institutionally rotten to the core and must be destroyed.
