Anybody here gonna give this game a shot? I signed up for the beta along time ago and finally got in.

Also, if any of you guys liked Diablos and Hellgate London, I know a better game by the same developers. Check out Mythos.com. It's a free online game thats outstanding.

Got into Beta awhile back but never tried it. Not really into the whole barbarian themed mmo. Have a buncha old gamer friends who will be playing AoC but I think I'm just going to wait and try Warhammer myself.

Lemme know if it turns out to be awesome and maybe I'll scope it out :P

Few friends of mine are playing Conan beta and asked me to join them, so I'll be playing at release. Probably only gonna play it to pass the time till WAR, but I'll be here if anyone's looking for qcdners. Will post my server when it comes out on the 20th.

Preordered it at gamestop, so I get the early access and in game stuff. I guess I get to download as of may 14th and create my character on the 17th. Cool...

Still not sure why exactly I took the plunge and picked this up since I'm far more interested in WAR, but it does look like a solid game if my PC ends up running it well enough. Anyone else going to be playing at release?

Anaeran me and a bunch of irl friend are waiting this we do have a forum but it is french based. www.requiemguild.ca We will anounce on the 17 wich server we will be on if any one else want to come to the same server you will be welcome

Downloaded the early access client and patched to the latest version. Hyboria exploration starts saturday for early goers-- post your servers/char info :D

After playing the beta, im gonna have to pass on this one. I couldnt stand it personally, though I tried to give it a shot. I see this game being like LOTRO after a few months. People will eventually go back to WoW once they find out that nothing is different in the long run.

Yeah I don't have very high expectations for this one...really just planning on playing until Warhammer: AoR is released in October. Still kinda hoping that AoC is good enough to keep me interested for that time period though.

We'll see.

If I have the internet hooked up by then at the new place I plan on wasting a good portion of my 2 weeks vacation in June on this game. :D

this is my next MMO, i finally got to test it out at a friends and i must say, my jaw was on the floor!

If anyone has any 10 day buddy passes let me know. :D I plan on starting on a PvP server but if the ganking is too bad I may end up on a PvE server.

Ganking was horrible in beta from what I've been told, though it'll obviously lessen once the population is split up on different servers.

Still, I'll be playing mostly for PvE anyways, and I'm sure there's options to pvp at times on the pve servers. Hopefully the PvP in AoC is better than it ended up being in WoW.

Server Choices (American PvE ones only, copied from www.pdguild.org):

Here are the choices for American PvE servers:

• Set
• Dagoth
• Zug
• Omm <- most likely Anaeran & CO. server
• Derketo
• Thog
• Wiccana
• Gwahlur (recommended Oceanic)
• Anu

Friend's Analysis of the server list:

-Tempest of Set is one of the characters, so Set is out of the question for me.
-Dagoth was the most popular vote on the official AoC Forums, so I think it'll be overpopulated.
-Zug sounds retarded.
-Same with Thog
-Anu will just have an 's' tacked on for cross-server disputes.
-Wiccana is leading right now for the "unofficial RP-PVE" server, and I don't feel like brushing up on my middle English.

I've also heard Asura is a German PvE server. The rest I'm not aware of yet.

Today's the day. Early Access starts at 1pm EST today for those who managed to get it before it sold out.

Anyone on Omm server, look me up. Hopefully I'll be playing under the name Anaeran once again.

I should be on Omm too, under the name Taurothar or Raukain most likely. Draug/Draugo are other possibilities.

Server: Omm

lvl 13 so far

smoothest MMO launch ever btw. I am thoroughly impressed.

Already lvl 13? How does it compare so far to FFXI and WoW? My friend from Seattle and I are going to give this baby a whirl in a few weeks. I am buying a tricked out computer to get full use out of it too.

Well there's 80 levels, so the first 20 or so are pretty quick.

Combat is the biggest difference, as it's far more involved than any other MMO system out there. It actually forces you to pay attention, which is kinda nice.

The world so far also has a great feel to it-- really makes you feel like you are your adventurer. It's a little tough on weaker end comps, but I'm consistantly 30+ FPS in the worst areas with my build (1x Geforce 8800 gts 512, duo core e6600 2.4 ghz, standard drive, crappy oldschool 1280x1024 standard LCD monitor, etc)

My big criticisms so far would probably be:

1) the learning curve-- which may or may not drive away casual type players who simply don't want to take the time to learn how to play. It isn't overly complicated, but it does take awhile to feel comfortable with the basic controls.

2) i havent figured out how to involve my g15 or msx gaming mouse in the control situation. the ability to program some macros would be absolutely key in executing combos efficiently. so far I havent figured out how to do it for this game yet.

3) no real /who all function for quick player searching. The menu for this is separate and elaborate and takes awhile to locate people

Other than that, this is by far the most successful MMO launch in history I think. There was a 3 hour patch extension, and then Funcom delivered exactly as they said they would, and I'm sold. If end game/dungeon crawling is as fun as the early stuff is, I may be playing AoC longer than I thought.
