Aion- discuss

cool ^^, I think so far there are atleast 7 former FFXI'ers that are gonna make the jump including you, it'd be cool =D
 
It won't let me downlaod the game D=...maybe gotta wait till friday!

Edit: it's also only one key per I.P address so make sure your brother and you don't live together if ya both want to play XD
 
2 Days is sadly not a lot of time to get anything done in Aion. It has a somewhat long grind. You might be able to ascend to get your wings and choose which class branch you want to take in that time frame, but you won't have long to actually play around beyond that point. If it were a week long thing, I'd be more enthusiastic, but 2 days is really only just enough time to play around with a handful of newbie abilities.

No biggie about the 2 days (for me at least), but I agree that for a beta, this 2 day period is retarded. I actually received my beta key from NCsoft and not that promotion. The beta email stated something about the key being valid for any upcoming beta events which is pretty cool. From what I've read so far, I think the 2 day period would be enough to get a decent feel for the game and that beta events are pretty frequent as well.

On another note, from your experience, did you get ganked a lot in the newb areas? I read that NCsoft isn't doing much about assholes who find fun in farming newbs.
 
I read another thing that the Open beta starts on the 9th for those who pre-ordered and what not so maybe that's a good thing!

I'm not sure anyone can enter the opposing races newbie zone. You start off on an island, with no way to or from the main hub city except by teleportation through NPCs. I got to level 18 on my Asmodian Cleric, and not once came across an Elyos player.

Received my Gamestop pre-order beta key about 2.5 hours ago. Should be sent out if you have one.
 
Thanks for reminding me to pre-order this.. I went and Pre-ordered Batman: Arkam Asylum only to find out it's been pushed back 2 months. >< I should have pre-ordered this at the same time, collectors edition of course.

This. I didn't want to spoil my experience by playing the gimp Chinese/Korean version but I must say I'm enjoying the game so far :)

yeah! I had a blast playing it too! How did you take those screenshots lol.. I forgot to install Fraps and was too busy doing quests on Genna's level 13 Assassin. My brother commandered my Templar to level 15 with some pimp gear. I'm already suffering from Aion withdrawal... that game is f'n bad ass. I'm definitely looking forward to the Asmo beta even though it'll only span 10 levels.

On another note, did you happen to run into that gigantic crab (Pik****something.. I forget) outside of the Verteron Citadel? That thing was destroying anyone it ran into lol. I ended up just flying, smacking it on the ass, then kiting it to the citadel entrance so I could get help in killing that damn thing. I guess I can chalk it up to my first unintentional Aion MPK since it did kill some people who were AFK resting near the entrance before we took it down.

OH OH OH and how the hell do you autorun in Aion??!

Yeah, Although I think I only got to level 12, I met some really cool people, I even killed an NM without knowing it (check first batch of screenies of me casting spell on said mob lol). Screenshots were easy to take, just press the print screen button and it let you XD. Aion withdrawal indeed...the only thing that sucks about this so far is the release date is so close to when next semester starts so I'm gonna have to balance it out very well to keep up my GPA lol.

That crab...I kept 5 people alive killing that thing...it was a fucking whore...someone recognised me as an FFXI player too saying something along the lines of "Only FFXI healers randomly cure people they don't know" made me smile lol. I forgot the name of the crab but yeah, it was huge but we managed to kill it in a pond lol. I am glad I picked chanter as my job...I like playing healer/buffer while adding my own twists into battles...was good ^^.

Asmo beta looks awesome too simply coz it's Asmo lol.

Edit: autorun is by pressing numlock with default key settings...I figured it out while in the deforested area XD.
