"ok you stand here, I stand there, you do this. we all do the hokey pokey..."
screw that.

I didn't mean for this to turn into a hijacked thread.
But I guess I pissed off a bunch of nagging Thieves.
Rones said:I do feel better about your action now that you say you did try it for 10 fights at least. However, the situation doesn't make since. If the hate was jumping as much as you claim and the mages were taking lots of hits (you have more than 1 blm?), then the PL should be doing lots of curing that would solidfy hate. The more hate jumps around, the more secure it is after the PL has cured all that dmg. The only explanation for hate jumping that much is if the PLD wasn't curing all the dmg or was too low of lvl and actually taking moderate dmg causing him to lose hate. Sadly, I'm fairly experienced at PL and never expereinced a problem of hate going off me.![]()
Phraust said:lol What a coincidence... I was asked to join that party as a Tank with the promise of a Poerlevel, I said quite firmly, "No thanks, I want to learn how to do my job."
And to correct you on a couple of things, if coordinated properly, all thew Paladin had to do was hit anyone with a Cure III or Higher and they would hold hate through pretty much the whole fight. For Melee, the Hate generated is based on thier cumulative damage, for healers it's based on thier cumulative Healing. If you do 100 damage to a mob, you will have 100 points of hate. When a Pld comes by and heals you for 200 hp, they aquire 200 points of hate.
And as far as having your Thief practicing hate control, Please keep in mind a thief cannot control hate per se' until level 30 when they can transfer thier hate onto others. On the same note, you were not practicing 'SATA' you were practicing Sneak Attacks.
Its just you. After you reach the upper lvls and their insane exp amounts you no longer care about the noble idea of doing your job right or what is meant to be. You just care about getting that exp to lvl up regardless of the method. I would choose easy exp over playing my job to the fullest anyday if it actually resulted in better time/exp efficieny. However, this isn't to say I go slacking a lot since I'm still concerned about maximizing time efficieny for the exp amounts.I don't know, maybe it's just me, but i like to play my job to it's fullest.
Well if he wasn't a bad PLer (never thought that would come up), then what Alexial said would be spot on advice.Even if it was a bad PLer, that doesn't excuse Alexial telling the tank not to voke at all to try to control things a little.

and if you have to ask this? I have to ask what game have YOU been
playing? WAR is probably the most versatile job ever! Thf only has SATA.
Take that away from them and you got nothing.
