Anyone getting weird JP /tells from Ren?

Dunno what it means, but me, Nukutasha(while I was on her character), and SEVERAL random people I been doing Nyzul Isle with amoung other things...

Been getting a tell, with along the lines of -~W and some other shit.

Here is just one from me on Nukutasha today, when I made a shout, got an INSTANT tell.

One while I was on friends character(Blurred Name so no problems happen since I use windower)

-Lotta ppl been telling me they sending them it too, whats their problem, or they just some random JP tryn to start trouble? They shout for some LS all the time I think.

They look like random sounds:

we know w is a laugh or lol to the JP and the hyphens extent the syllable that preceeds it

ぶーぶ-w = bu-bu
わーい = Wa-i (wahee, sounds like why)
うつし = Utsushi - directly translates in English to copy or duplicate.

Probably some random Japanese person being stupid.
 
The last one is actually usshi (chisai tsu!).

Which means Cow. (Think like Ushikirimaru).

So this JP is going around sending random NA's tells acting like a pig or cow(or implying we are pigs or cows)...just out of some sort of spite of something?

Never heard of a JP doing that before, normally keep to themselves, let alone harass NA players for no reason beyond their own entertainment purposes.

Next time I get a tell I'll just oink or moo at them. Might give them a laugh. lol
 
I got one the other day from him. I just sent him a tell back saying I dont speak Japanese and he was quiet after that.
 
What level job were you on? Perhaps he was looking for someone to help him with Dhalmels in Buburimu?

Granted that's a bit of a stretch. Probably just some young kid who hates NA.

The funny thing is that this actually makes a bit of sense when you think about it.
But yeah, probably some spiteful JP.
 
So... if i get a tell.. the appropriate response is MOOOOOO!
 
I've seen this jp a couple times and even partyed with them once, have no idea.

They may be trying to ask for help with something and was /sea alling, and the question is just getting lost in translation...

Just based on the fact that they follow each /tell with "w" I'd say they were probably making fun of you. Looking at what they actually said, they were probably calling you a cow. Could be an insult, unless the character's name had something to do with a cow (Miruku? :P).

No idea why some random JP player would do that, but I imagine it'd be the same if you got random tells from an English-speaking player like: "You're a cow lol" "moooo lol"
 
Thought I remember reading in a post somewhere that "w" doesn't always mean laughing. But did all the people in your party have JPN sounding names? If that was the case, he may have assumed that all of you spoke japaneese. Normally, when I get a tell in a differnt language, I auto-translate that I don't speak that language. Just going "?" will make them think you don't understand the question, but not really that you don't speak the language. As far as him making fun of people, he could've been drunk, lol.

He sent alot more people that just me these exact tells. >.> And the fact everyone(Besides Nukutasha) has NA-sounding names anyways.


As for being drunk...doubtful...less he drinks every day, cause these didn't happen on the same days. lol
 
I think this is a guy that sent me a long as tell while I was asleep. NEver screened it though =/
 
Pretty sure he was making fun. He wasn't saying bu-bu- but pu-pu- ("poopoo" probably). I think those are little circles rather than ". And saying cow whilst laughing after everything. Probably just thought it would be fun to bother NA's that don't understand. Either an NA playing with the IME or a bored JP.
 
Maybe the Renrenyanyan(?) person thought Xzerper was Japanese and was asking for help. Because I've seen the character name "Xzerper" seeking with (J) only preference for languages while searching PT member. As for the Renrenyanyan person, I've seen shouting for help often in Whitegate, they seem odd...and very non-typical Japanese player.
