Arctyrael, Protectorate of the Moronic

This is all getting pretty fucking stupid. The arguement is moot from all points, because Jamal is arguing that he was only posting because of thread derailment, which in turn further derailed the thread even more. Caerloc kept posting more and more arguing the same rehashed points because (yes I saw it too) someone said "RDM can't tank" and then people argued with him for reasons that had nothing to do with the OP.

I keep seeing the same thing said over and over, "take it to End Game Forum". But why should Caerloc do that? If Jamal has the right to post an arguement, continually I might add, to show how someone is wrong for posting in a thread, then why not allow Caerloc to continually post because they think someone else is wrong? You guys are both doing the same exact things for the same goddamn reasons.

I've got nothing against either one of you guys, really I don't. But this bullshit is mindblowing, and neither one of you can win it. Jamal posts some good shit most of the time, and I'd say he knows what he's talking about. Same for Caerloc, I've never seen an uninformed post from him either. But these last few posts are just fucking stupid when you really sit down and read them. It's like... Caerloc yelled, then Jamal yelled at Caerloc for yelling. The right thing to do, would have been to make a new thread for discussion in either the Flameboard, or Endgame, and make your cases there. Both of you. And you fucking know I'm right.




Back to the whole Arctyreal thing. Arc does a alright job from my standpoint, and I'm no whiney bitch with no backbone that has to count on him either. He is a bit more "hands on" than I've seen, but it's kind of a good thing for this forum to be honest. Threads are constantly being derailed, by the same people, for the same reasons over and over, and it gets fucking old, no matter how funny your friends tell you it is. It's insane how many threads get trashed because someone posts, then a person who doesn't like them posts just to goad the other person, then it's all trash from there. On that note, I don't think the Rap Parodies thread should have been moved, it was stated in the beginning to not be taken serisously. But the continual bitching about it is getting stagnant, I just hope it all gets aired out in this thread where it belongs.

I don't think you are stupid Jamal, but I do think you are a megalomaniac who can't stand the thought of making a mistake.

You have every right to disagree with anything I said, and since this is a forum, you are encouraged to do so. I've never once disrespected you, ever. I stated that these recent posts in "The New Tank" were pretty useless, which they were.

I don't give a damn who you think you are. I'm not stupid, and I just totally lost any respect I had for you. And I did have quite a bit until now.
 
I tried following the topic and got kinda lost and stopped caring. On the subject of moderation here, I think there is too much catering to the instigators of the problems. People who get rated down to a red rating are obviously disliked by the community at large. Thus, we let them hide their ratings. That was fail. Then people go and trollbait by posting completely stupid things outside the flameboard. Someone takes the bait then gets in trouble for it. That is also fail. If a topic in general deteriorates to the point where it looks like a flameboard topic... just move the topic to the flameboard. Don't let the baiters whine and moan to get the others in trouble. Just move it and let them reap what they sowed in the first place. Too much pussery (hey I made up a word) allowed here these days and not enough enforcing of the rules that are actually good ones (like the RL flame rule).

When self moderation fails, which is most often does, I believe this would be the proper discourse. But it sucks when you make a decent thread, then two people talking about things that don't even belong in the thread flame each other, then the post gets moved to the FB and it becomes an aimless free for all. You just lost your thread, and you aren't gonna get it back.

Not necessarily. If it's tangential to the initial discussion, another thread can be extrapolated with the extraneous antagonistic postings. See how easy that is?
 
i just going to start a new thread and write it with oil ... about new weapon skill ;p

but ya when i made that thread i wanted to start good thread about tanks and hate control

and about the rdm tanking , ya i think they can tank but not in all endgame event where the mob is just hit hard , fast and have a timer to do it like salvage

Thank could very well work. But it leads to another question. How many moderators are really going to pick through a 10 page or more of a topic sorting the good and bad posts, then making new threads in the proper forum?

I can appreciate that, but you still had to make the mods do it. More often than not, it's more of a "aw darn, there goes my thread" kind of thing, and most people wouldn't persue it, thinking it is a dead topic. But in that light, you can also wonder what the topic *might* have led to if it had not been for the people dueling in it.

This could easily go the way of making it into another arguement for bad forum moderating, and maybe it is. I believe people should be a bit more responsible about what they post and where they post it, instead of having the moderators go through all the threads looking for ways to keep topics alive, but thats just me. I've been guilty of derailing threads, and although I could make the arguement that most of those threads were already crap, it really shouldn't matter. (And if/when I get called for doing something I know is wrong, I'll own it.)
 
Is trolling considered bad when you are right? I actually like when people get put in their place outside the flameboard because sometimes they are too puss enough to step in here when they are spewing ridiculous shit and take the heat like everyone else.

It was an old (and stupid) from a moronic (and stupid) poster, it warranted the reasoning for why it was wrong when it first came up. Now all it warranted was a "shut the fuck up," which it got.

And showing complete disrespect for someone who's done nothing BUT earn disrespect, isn't starting an argument, its giving them their just rewards. Some people just don't deserve respect.
 
There are stupid people everywhere. You see them behind the registers at grocery stores, they share the roads with you whereever you drive, indeed, sometimes it seems that there's no escape. But, that doesn't mean it's right to belittle them, even in forums. Many of the people on the forums suffer from internet bravado. Just because you can take every opportunity to belittle a stupid person, doesn't mean you should. Just ignore them and move on. Arctyrael might be a little overzealous in protecting the board's unpopular members, or maybe he isn't. It really doesn't matter. He shouldn't have to. Does noone have any self control? You'd think half the population here were little better than Pavlov's dogs. They see a stupid post and post a flame subconsciously, without even thinking of it, apparently. Yes, there are a lot of dumb people, but meeting them point for point with a flame just makes you one of them. In summation, Hellstorm needs to gather his people and study grammar, and Skaw needs to gather his people and work on people skills. Then Arctyrael could spend all the rest of his days merging double posts and looking at porn or something.

This thread is here because a moderator DID go through every post in a thread. Rather than taking it one step further and SPLITTING the thread, he took it one step further and cracked his cute e-whip.

I don't hide my PERSONAL opinions behind my cute little e-whip. I did your job for you and created a productive end-game discussion thread. It took me all of two minutes. You 'could' now realize your fault, and move the rest of the red mage discussions from the gen discussion thread INTO that thread, where they should have been started long ago.
You also 'could' unlock the New tank thread so discussion could continue. That might actually be a good chance to be a fucking moderator, instead of pretending to be one by handing out e-parking tickets to people like Skaw and I.
