I'm hoping to get DM done, and I am down to the choices of 2 earrings.

Beastly Earring-
CHR 2
Axe skill 5
Evasion 5

Bushinomimi
STR 2
Great Katana 5
Parrying 5

Now my question is, is 2 STr or 5 axe skill better.

I'm a 75 War with 8/8 axe merits so I'm capped at 285, with Beastly I would cap at 290... I'm just looking for people's opinions, any and all are welcome thanks :)

Neither.

Suppanomimi = Enhance Duel Wield.

If you want 2 STR, buy some Triumph earrings and macro them in.

+5 Axe skill is like +5 ACC and +5 attack, but hitting faster seems more worthwhile to me.

Whoopps if what I said was TRue then the game would be broken, NVM

*Edit I said something stupid go figure >.>

Divine Might earrings are irreplaceable, and you can't choose another without making an entirely new character and doing DM on that. Do *not* pick one for the sole sake of saving yourself some cash. (Read: do *not* pick any DM earring based on its stat +2.) DM earrings are rarer than Triumph Earrings (which give STR +2 and are buyable).

So, ignore the Bushinomimi.

I'd suggest Suppanomimi even as an axe-using WAR (to be honest I'd suggest it for anyone who's not a career BLM or *maybe* a career PLD, it really kinda blows away the other options). The dual wield delay reduction will increase your damage output too (not your damage *per hit* mind you, but it *is* like wearing some fairly sizable amount of +haste (recasts notwithstanding) in the ear slot - was it equivalent to 5%?).

Furthermore, the boost to sword skill on the earring, while not directly useful to the double-axe setup you probably use, is potentially helpful if you consider offhanding a Joyeuse, and/or if you do anything Fafnir-related implying the possibility of a Ridill.

It's also worth taking into account that you can merit axe (and have already done so), and same for sword, but you ain't ever meriting yourself a dual wield delay reduction. While stacking with merits is well worth considering, so is getting something that can do what merits *can't*.

Ninja edit:

Skill = +2 Acc and Att last I heard.

1 skill = 1 Att and either 1 Acc or 0.9 Acc depending how high skill we're talking (it's 0.9 at high numbers such as this). However, one *merit upgrade* is 2 skill, which will result in those +2's. That may be the source of your confusion.

Anyone who has a job that dual wields and doesnt get Suppanomimi will regret it.

Unless they nerf Ninja sub, then you'll really regret it. After all, Square's scheming up some way to make the others more appealing to Warrior.

I'd say hold up on choosing until you find out what they're planning.

I forgot about that lol That sounds like a good idea.

Actually, I take it back. Forgot that making the other jobs more appealing would result in using great axe, most likely. Go for Suppanomimi

QFT. 5% Dual Wield increase >> all other choices.

Steel Cyclone is awsome. I really don't get why people would still DW when they have such a WS at their disposal.

What's the point of using Steel cyclone when you'd be working on your second Rampage in the time it'd take you to get enough TP to use it?

Steel Cyclone is awesome at 300%. Or 200% with a 10mil Martial Bhuj.

Steel Cyclone may be good, but I'd rather do 2 or 3 Rampages.

For all /nin Suppa will get you about 6.25% more swings. You lose enough TP/hit with axe/sword delay weapons to balance out the TP gain so all it really adds is 6.25% more melee swings. The +5 Sword is also great if you offhand joyeuse.

The axe skill is better for pure damage, the +STR would mostly mod WS damage.

lolnoob

I chose Bushinomimi way back when I just had samurai leveled, and every time I suit up my ninja (which is 95% of the time) I regret that decision.

Get suppa, nothing else compares.

Suppanomimi

The Enhance Dual Wield stat is not found anywhere else in the game, unless you equip the Sarashi (Level 30 Belt) and sub NIN. Only 2 pieces of equip enhances Dual Wield, not counting the NIN AFs and the Relic AF. One requires NIN sub, and the other you can just equip anyway (but a lot harder to get). The other stats in the other earrings can be merited or upgraded using other equip. What everyone said, basically.

No no no... That thing sucks sucks sucks. It in no way compares to the suppanomi. In fact it is very questionable whether the Sarashi even does anything... I'll let Stouts comment since he borrowed mine.

At the lower levels <37, it was a waste.

Ah, I was under the impression that it works, but only at high levels (when you get Dual Wield II @ Level 50 as sub). I've never read anything about it whether it's effective or not though. Do you mean to say the belt gives less then 5% haste for Dual Wielding then?

i tried that sarashi as my 61 thief, and i think i noticed more of a difference with my 2% haste quick belt.....

so i sold it back to the ah with the quickness...
