We should all just play a game for the monotonous, unenjoyable tasks. We should all play exactly the same, equip the same gear and all be the same because there really only is one best and correct method. We should spend 800 hours obtaining beastmen seals or farm up moat carp for a month to obtain 1 piece of gear. And next month, we should repeat that same task for a SH+1 because anything less is unacceptable from the perfect standard.
It's a game. You realize that, but I don't think you fully understand. Do you play sports with friends? Perhaps golf? Let's say you are out in a round of golf and suddenly your friend pulls out a nine iron instead of a driver(I really don't have the slightest clue about golf, but it's a good example). You ask why and he says his driver broke and he hasn't replaced it. You immediately call him a gimp and tell him he shouldn't be playing golf at all until it's replaced. Would you do that? Or does your elitism only stretch to video games?
If anyone pulled out a 9-iron instead of a driver, they'd never get an invite to play again from that person or any of his friends.
Why did you choose the most-elitist sport of any sport to use as your example...Golf has clubs that are strictly based on your income, you can't even use the course unless you meet the standards of money, fame and power.
Use a different example, like I explained earlier.
If someone is just coasting through class not studying and not doing homework while I bust my ass to get the best education I can to apply later, I'm sure as hell gonna respect others that are putting the same time and effort that I am into the class than those who do just enough to get by.
Can even take this to another level with the PCC comparison.
You know that getting a good grade in this class is pivotal for your success. You are presented with three options, two of which are acceptable in my eyes:
1. Bust your ass working and hire a tutor to help you succeed (ie purchasing the item after farming)
2. Study your ass off to get the grade yourself (ie, getting the pcc from the bc). Some people need to study more than others, just like some will need to attempt the bc more times. Luck and intelligence aren't related I know, but on a broader scale the concept remains the same.
3. Decide for yourself that even though people tell you over and over again that this class is pivotal for your development in said career path, you decide to skip over it for now, not gaining the full enhancement until you're 10 years into your career just barely getting by, and decide that you had better go back to school to make your life easier.
