Beta testing

Not wanting to break some non disclosure agreement, i cant say i just got a email confirming i got in beta, but i cant say i DIDN'T just get an email confirming i got in beta either ;)
 
Jesus fucking christ I want in to this beta. No email for me.
 
Well if any of you are EU I guess I'll see you around? I think they're sending out invites because less people are even logging on to test it. That and they want to strain the servers some more.
 
Having registered for the PS3 beta, this round does not affect me, but I was hoping one of my few RL friends interested in this game would've gotten into the beta.
Alas, they did not.
 
I dont think its gonna be different servers, i believe its gonna be JP EU and NA all together, just like ffxi.
 
I have heard, so to speak, that the alpha sessions have been scheduled so that only specific groups (NA, EU, JP) can log in at a time.

Nope I've been in the beta since it started. They've all been in different times. EU have a different time to JP and NA. Unless you're speaking about when they open it to everyone? Then I think I read that they are going to join them together.

Have you? Is it really that big of a deal to share info on levels and starting cities on here? I mean is SE really going to find you? I want to know what this "phystical" level and class level means.

Its not that hard to find out what they do; there's been lots of leaked information. Class level is your current class's level. All it do is give you new spells, abilities and the capability to wear better equipment. Physical level are your stats, and are shared among all of your classes. In order to use abilities or spells from another class, your current class must be at least past the level you would need to be on that class to use it. For example, Cure is lvl 3 Conjurer. In order to use Cure on your Thaumaturge, you have to be at least a lvl 3 Thaumaturge to equip it.

This is what makes xiv so interesting, even though the max allowed abilities seems to be 20 of which 10 are locked to your "main" class, it still opens up alot of possible combos.

Remember that a lot might be changed come-release. For all we know Cure II could cost 2 ability points to set, and perhaps you get more ability points at higher levels too.

Atm the alpha cap is 20, and last I heard the planned cap for release is 50. However, I suspect that - unlike FFXI - SE want to raise the level cap, perhaps on a per-expansion basis.

the time thing is for alpha only, oh yeah by the way i'm in the alpha/beta as well. :-) hope to see some of you guys around on this weeks playtimes!

(the timecaps are for the alpha, they've said that they will go away once we hit beta)
 
If anyone from the EU is in the beta can you hit me with a pm or something? Kinda want to try some of the 'harder' guildleves in a team or something.
 
man im so angry with myself right now. I signed up for beta testing with an email i rarely use, the default one my ISP gave me. I used that one since using hotmail wasnt reccomended, so after the initial invites went out and i didnt get in, i forgot about it. Now that talks of the upcoming beta stirred up i decided to check and see if invites for that had gone out yet, only to find that i may have gotten an email of acceptance at the beginning of the month, and the alpha ended yesterday. hate myself hate myself hate myself. But oh well, theres still beta and i dont have to hope for an invite now! :P

I used a hotmail email. Worked fine for me at least, you should be ok.
