Ok I know what I need and I know what it'll take, the thing is what order should I do it in? Currently I've gotten:
4/6 AMII
3/5 Thunder Pot
3/? Elemental Skill

Figure I still need
2 AMII
3 Lightning Pot
5 Ice Pot
Max Elemental Skill
Max INT
Max MP
Not sure about enmity decrease just because I want to level some tank jobs

Potency->Ele.skill->AM2->MP->INT

Unclear on what you did with AM2, did you actually unlock 4, or do 2 burst2 2 freeze2?

Why?
iirc, they're pretty inefficient (compared to am2), and you'll get more benefit if you MB at all doing 3burst 3freeze

edit: meant tier4

yeah. I'd reccomend doing 3 burst 3 freeze too. Doing that you'll be able to MB both dark and light, and it's also the only spells you'll MB with anyway at 75. And your thunder/ice potency contemplates it nice.

As for enmity, personally I refuse to touch it.

So yeah. I'll agree with blabj. Elemental Skill > Potency (5 Thunder, 5 Ice) > AM2 (3 Burst, 3 Freeze) > MP > INT ftw.

Although, for me personally, I'm ding 5 enfeebling 3 elemental due to the fact that my main is RDM. Might do 4/4, not decided yet. Still requires me to lower my enfeebling from 8 to 4 or 5 ; ;

i have this problem too with RDM. oh well. im doing enfeebling 3, elemental 5. a resisted enfeeble wastes alot less mp than a resisted nuke, thats for sure. lol

i also tend to agree with ele skill > potency > am2 > int .. i dont like to put mp in that group.. because i feel that, personally, merits that benefit *all jobs* should be done before individual jobs since they help affect them all :)

Ele skill first IMO.

Like others have mentioned it's probably best to stick with 2x AM2 and max them. The 5 Magic Acc. on each upgrade is huge.

Just curious, how would you guys set up merits if Conserve MP was merittable? Say, +2 per merit?

elemental top first priority. less resists= more mp= better blm.

then potency

Max MP next but not that important for a tarutaru.

INT last i'd guess lol

people debate wether to unlock all AM2 for their weakening propeties,
or maxing 2 of them for +Macc and +Mab on SC.

Thing is, AM2 seem worth mp wise only when used in MB, otherwise they are same dmg/mp than tier2, which sux for {conserve MP}.

on wamoora prince tier 2 and am2 ( thunder, ice) are 5.5dmg/mp, tier3 are 6.5 and tier4 are 7.5 ( with same nuke gear).

I max'd Ele skill, then Ice Pot, then Fire Pot (now changing to Thunder almost done), MP then INT. Got 6/6 AM after they were added just because.

I did...

6 potency
2 enfeebling (i like to solo)
5/5 thunder
5/5 ice
Every AM2 (it actually does have it's uses)
3/5 INT (probably going to do the other two str for my blu)
5mp/3hp
And a bunch of other melle ones

Depending on if your capping them off the bat or not, when I was using blm in PTs especially flans my resists were not very bad. I took Ele to lvl4, then from there wanted to increase my dmg along with when AM2 was released it was something I prioritized.

Now if you plan to be using your blm outside of mount.z which I find myself doing rarely lol and you do somehow happen to use it on High level mobs such as HNMs I'd maybe suggest capping your elemental as a priority. You can always balence your merits out also, I actually thought it was a bit senseless to cap elemental skill off considering I have brd also and thought I might use merits in that category for wind skill.

elemental>potency>AM2>mp

Like I said I somewhat took advantage of the low merit cost for first time upgrades and somewhat had my blm merits balenced out for a while. Then once upgrades began to cost 3+ merits I kinda began focusing on certain things.

For BRD, most shit seems to flat-out resist you 80-100% of the time (sup hydra and sometimes cerby) or be relatively easy to land elegy on (ultima, omega). I don't see wind skill merits helping a whole lot.

Do Blms even get to magic burst anymore? Don't merit for situations that you won't get into. If by some strange twist of fate (perhaps you got warped into an alternate dimension where jobs still work together) you are in a group of people that set up skillchains for you to burst, by all means, forsake versatility for a bigger number, but if all you're gonna be doing is burning stuff, who cares about potency on magic bursts? That's my take. If pumping up individual AMII's gave a straight damage boost, I could see the logic in continuing the Ice and Thunder only thing Blms like to do, but all it affects is bursts and we don't burst. It might as well affect weaponskill damage for all it'll help us.

The only time I get to mb anymore is limbus and Ouryu uncapped.

But on the limbus run I get to mb several times, it actually benefits me most to have ALL of the AM2 as we're MB'ing on the avatars. The only other limbus run we ever MB on is the zone with the big turtle.

is the damage on AM II that much more from lvl 1 and lvl 3? Whould it not be better to merit all AM so you could be ready for any mob and also help with resist with the weakening propertys. Alot mobs are resistant to all type of element except 1, meriting 3/3 ice/thunder seem little limiting.
