Announcement Board Changes (April Fools!)

After talking it over with the head honcho we have decided that it's best to take away a few more boards so we can free up some room. So right now we slimmed down the general gaming, the flameboard (since it's just useless shit lately) and the ffxi jobs forum. This will hopefully make some load times quicker! Gaming stuff can be placed into The Lounge from now on.
 
Um... Aren't you a little late for April Fools?
 
Most of the changes I agree with. Like the shitty Flameboard being gone, Jobs and Missions being gone, but not so much with the Gaming section being into the Lounge.
 
This is some serious FUCKING bullshit Miros. Seriously you need to step back down as admin again, it's stupid fucking ideas like this that just annoy the shit out of us. GTFO.

while we're at it, let's remove the multimedia, anime, etc, forums and get rid of old threads and merge the few active into lounge. Hell, art can go too! Oh and Reality Sinks In, it's far inactive compared to the gaming section was. Crafters Corner seems to barely be needed too, let's drop that!

Bad move getting rid of the gaming forums :(

Edit: it has to be a late april fools joke, no one is this stupid to get rid of many useful threads and useful sections.

Why would you get rid of the gaming section? It's one of the most used sections on this board. At least general gaming is.
 
Just checked..GONE. WTF. Where did all the old threads go? They had a PSN update thread...just gone. General Gaming..gone.
 
With the new gamerID tags in the userCP there's no real reason to have those lists...
 
Only thing about geting rid of the flameboard is that it now makes the FFXI general discussion open for people to put their flame..age with a bunch of "I couldn't find flameboard so I'm posting here..." stuff. Imo it's better to keep the non-smoking and smoking sections seperate, if ya know what i mean. :)
 
Whats the fuss about? change? i bet in a few weeks we'll have forgotten why we were mad about the changes in the first place. The flameboard was a empty shadow of its former "barrel of laughs" self. i think we've had about 3 good ones just this year alone. As for the gamer section i would have just lumped everything in to general gaming and lose the individual boards. IDK if that would have had the effect that the mod staff is looking for, and i'm sure they tossed that idea around, but thats what i would have done. The board did seem to have a ton of empty space tho. I wasnt happy when our sports section got 86'd but i lived through it. Dont (/panic) folks. everything will be fine.

But i want my football thread sticky'd when i make it at the start of the next football season :mad:

Yeah I disagree with these changes. If you don't like the forums you can just minimize em, which I have done with most all of them except the (former)Gaming Section, general chat and general XI ones. Would it kill you guys to maybe, IDK throw out a vote thread to see what people think before you just start axing shit? I mean I don't know the entire workings of vbulletin, but I dont see how having several other forums/subforums were breakin the board. I mean shit, i've seen forums with 2-3x the amount of forums/subforums we have here and they seem to be fine.

At the VERY least, you should make a general gaming forum under General Chat. There were a lot of decent threads and it'd be nice not to have to sift through all the Off topic shit, with all the sports thread, just straight off topic threads and everything else in there, to find gamin threads.

Except for say when I get a random add from someone at QCDN and I have no fucking idea who it is. It was nice having a list of who everyone is, and what games they played.
 
I'm still new here, but isn't getting rid of an active gaming section on a board full of gamers... kinda stupid? -- Pteryx
 
Yeah, if it's at least possible, could just one forum be made for Video Games in general? I think just one general video game forum, without being split between sony, microsoft, and nintendo, would be fine. But to remove the entire video game section.. tsk. There were a lot of useful threads in there.
 
Honestly the general gaming forum seemed twice as active as the FFXI general chat forum :/

Oh well, like Zaltana said we'll get over it.
 
Cool, the only section I use on the site is gone now.
