Brett Farve

Look guys, Favre is my favorite NFL player. Hell I live in Hattiesburg, MS and attend Southern Miss. I do wish he would stay retired BUT how can you guys criticize a man that has played this sport his whole life? It's all he knows, and while 37 is old for the NFL, he's still a young man in the work force. Most guys retire at 65, that would leave him 28 years difference between the average working man. This happens ALL the time. He isnt broken like Mcnair. He's still an above average talent QB. If he wants to come back so what?.

Okay well yeah he has earned alot in this league but lets face it, he RETIRED. That is a fact. Yes he may have been pressure to make a decision by the organization, but thats his fault for letting that happen if indeed it did. He RETIRED the team HAS to move on. How can you run a multi million dollar franchise and be wondering if the guy who said hes done, changes his mind. They had to move on and theyre doing the right thing by not letting him waltz in to the starting line up. Aarong Rodgers may not be the answer, but what Brett is doing is fucked up. He shouldve never retired or atleast not made such a hasty decision, he fucked up and thats a fact. No one is bigger than the team, he shouldnt be released nor should he be traded to a division opponent, itd be a stupid thing to do.

How is what he's doing fucked up? People retire then enter back into the work force ALL THE TIME. My grandpa did it 3 damn times. Players do it all the time. It happens. If Greenbay really wants to stick with Rogers then thats fine, Favre has said it was fine. He just wants to be released. Him wanting to be released is them still moving on. Greenbay's problem is, they dont wont to release him. They don't won't him on another team (could go to a rival), and since he's a legend there, they can't see him playing for another team period.

Ill say it again, Favre is ready to move on. Greenbay is the one draggin it out.

The Vikings just filed tampering charges against the Vikings about Favre. As long as Greenbay holds Favre hostage, it's just gonna get worse. To me, it looks like Greenbay isn't ready to move on.

If I was a team manager though dont think I would be willing to just say, oh you changed your mind and want to come back but not here? Ok then lets get this contract thrown out so you can go play for another team Big Boy. I understand why Brett may be pissed about missing out on Moss, but you work with what you have and if you renewed your contract and still had a substantial time frame left on it with the thought you may change your mind, think about it a bit more.

If I was the Packers there is no way I'd release him. I would be looking for trades or bring him back and make him ride pine until Aaron Rodgers proves to be a bust or gets hurt. It is no way in the interest of the Packers to let him go for nothing, trade, draft picks, something.

What happened to loyalty? What happened to routing for YOUR team and giving a big hearty 'fuck you' to all the others? Brett Favre is a Green Bay Packer, end of story. He should be revolted at the idea of playing for any other team and so should all of you. I don't blame Green Bay one bit for not wanting to let him go.

bring him back and make him ride pine until Aaron Rodgers proves to be a bust or gets hurt.

That's what I'd be doin. When Brett said he wanted to retire I would have started to invest all my time and effort into Aaron. Then when Brett says he wants to play again I wouldn't want to waste the investment I just put into Aaron so I'd see how he played out and go from there.

Well the big issue is I believe this is the last year of Aaron Rodgers contract. They need to see what this kid has in a game situation (as a starting QB with all the prep and practice reps a starting QB gets) so they can make an informed decision on if they resign him, how many millions is he worth, or let him go.

Okay well, Brett Farve signed a CONTRACT with the green bay packers that puts him as their employee for the next 3 years. You cant just get out of your contract because you feel like it. He didnt sign a contract that says "Your going to be the starter as long as your here" They are welcomming him back, as a back up. Letting him go and getting NOTHING in return is senseless. Im playing devils advocate here id like to see him play for someone else would be very interesting but anglis, tell me this. If your the Green ba Packers, why would you release him and hurt your salary cap for nothing in return? Why?

I do believe they should trade him and get some value for him, but thats not gonna happen. The problem is, if he shows up for training camp, you pretty much have to PLAY him. So Greenbay not releasing him or trying to seek a trade is pretty much setting Aaron Rogers up to fail. Why? Brett Favre returns because he signed a contract. Ok so he's the backup... making 12 million. Pressure for Aaron Rogers to succeed while a living legend is on the side line. He will constantly have to look over his shoulder, hoping to play perfect for fear of getting benched for Favre. It's gonna be a disaster if Favre show's up but is a backup. Think of the fans chanting for him to start the minute Aaron Rogers screws up? How can a QB become his own with that type of pressure.

No I think Greenbay needs to find a way to get rid of him, or just straight up start him. Favre has stated he would loving nothing more to remain a Packer, but only if he starts. Yet again, how is this different then any other athlete? Of course he wants to start.

Also the window to WIN is always in the now, because you'll never know when it'll close. Favre is here now, with a very talented team who will be even better this year. Favre has a better chance at the Superbowl then Aaron Rogers by far. Hell you dont even know anything about the guy at all. Why pass up at a chance for a superbowl appearance this year, just to hope maybe 3 years later Rogers could possibly maybe get us there? I mean you take the window of opportunity while it's there. Greenbay should absolutely start
Favre.

Edit: Btw Greenbay isnt my favorite team, the Saints are lol. I just grew up watching Brett down here in Hattiesburg. What i think he did was a typical superstar athlete wanting the spot light, I get that, but If he wants to play, then nobody should stop him. I also think Greenbay is handling this wrong.

Lol i think Aaron Rodgers is going to have an enormous amount of pressure if Farve is the backup or goes to another team, or even if he stayed retired. The pressure would be less if he stayed retire and had never done all this but now, either way theyre gonna do Farve chants. I mean lets say they trade or let him go, anytime Rodgers plays like shit the fans are gonna dog the packers for letting him go. Right now it sucks to be Aaron Rodgers but i hope he pulls through and does a good job im rooting for him

He going be the Michael Jordan of football (minus the baseball career.)

Brett is saying he plans to report to training camp. the plot thickens.......

gm said not to

Call it people. Jets or the Bucs. who gets him? :P

Prediction: Packers keep him until final cuts and then release him from his contract so they don't have to pay him. By that time most teams will be too committed to the chemistry they gained in training camp just to pick him up and Brett won't start for anyone until at least week 6.

The plot will take a twist and the Packers will release him and the struggling offense of the Chicago Bears will pick him up and they will win the Superbowl this year.

Oh what a story that would make.

First of all, stfu with that right now.

Secondly, you guys obviously don't know Green Bay fans. I was born and raised in Wisconsin and have been a Packer fan my entire life and I can tell you that if Aaron Rodgers was our starting QB we'd support Aaron Rodgers and nobody else. Packer fans are the most loyal fans on earth and we support the team no matter what.
