Hmm... after about a month of waiting and looking around, I FINALLY got a world pass to another server. I asked a friend of our LS leader who moved over to our server, and she gave me a world pass (after about a week of asking). Thanks to Abbi for giving me the world pass to Caitsith. It's a really kickass server. The economy is a little bit worse over there, but it's worth it. Everyone's friendly and it's opposite of Quetzalcoatl noob-wise. According to almost everyone I've ever asked, it seems like 99% of the server knows how to play the game. That's a hell of a lot compared to Quetzalcoatl. 99% of that is like noobs... PLD that are scared to 'Voke, WHM that can't Cure, SAM that don't know what a skillchain is. And you know? I've actually had lots of patience on this server, but too many good people are leaving, and too many morons are joining.

I'm still going to play on Quetzalcoatl as Thnikkaman, and the odd time with Junefly, but I'm going to try out Caitsith. So just thanks, Abbi. Thanks Yusuke for bringing her over here. Thanks to the people of Caitsith, especially one person, for being friendly to a newcomer over there. I got the name I really wanted too ^^

Welcome to the server :) Some of the items are a little cheeper there though but yes for the most part it's abit more expensive.

You should let people know who you are there so maybe the next time they taking a break from this server and fishing or something they can drop you a line.

Goodluck it may turn out to be your new home.

This is actually what I'm talking about. Everyone on that server welcomes me and some people even gave me a little bit of money. I got into the LS BastoksFinest almost immediately, because they heard I was Rank 5 on this one.

Most things are more expensive, but the ones that are rare, but are still not super amazingly great, are cheaper than on Quetzalcoatl. Their SH's, Astrals, and other items are cheaper. Can't remember what SH is now, but Astrals are like 1.5 mil on there, whereas on Quetzal, they're like 3mil (probably higher by now).

Also, one thing I was chatting with my friend about on there is about subjobs. On Quetzalcoatl, there's basically four subjobs: BLM, WHM, WAR, and NIN. WHM sub BLM. WAR, THF, RNG sub NIN. Everything else subs WAR. All or most of the Mages sub WHM, those who don't sub BLM or SMN...
-On Caitsith, people can play it like a real RPG, and people can wear what they want, and what subjobs they want. I mean, to an extent atleast. Not like on here, where there's "perfect" every equipment and subjobs.

have fun over there, don't come back and don't write! your new forum home is on killing ifrit ^^

I think i speak for the majority when i say....I dont care.

This is "Good Times", and although you are having a "Good Time", you are pretty much flamming every other person on this board by saying "Caitsith is soo much better than you noobs lol"

Find your own little "Caitsith Daily News" site and post on their good times forum. As for the members here, we dont give a shit about the other servers...

P.S. A LS named BastokElite must be reallll elite to accept a character formerly Rank 5. I rarely play and i got rank 5, but i am farrrrr from "elite"

1. Yeah, no one really cares. Yeah, I am flaming everyone on Quetzalcoatl via this "Good Times" thread. But hey, this is like the first time I'm posting my own thread on here, so have atleast a little heart and feel good for me... ass lol

2. I've tried to find a CSDN or any kind of forum... no go. Since I'm still on Quetzal like 33% of the time, I still have rights to post on here.

3. BastoksFinest isn't really that much better than most LS's, but the reason they only invite Lv50+ and Rank5+ is because they don't want any total noobs in their LS. I'm in another, somewhat better LS than that one right now anyway. (I'm in a kickass LS on Quetzal too, BHO 4tw)

To Blackchaoshero:
I hate www.killingifrit.com anyway. So (Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass.)

where is the ignore button on this board. the reason quetz seems like a bunch of jackass noobs is because theyve been around ppl like u for to long. just give ur precious caitsith a month or two pretty soon ur retardation will rub off on them. God, i can feel my IQ dropping just reading ur posts.

So on Caitsith I could get a PT invite on WAR/BLM over a WAR/NIN or WAR/MNK or WAR/THF?

I somehow freakin doubt that.

And if it is the case, I feel SORRY for all the exp parties on Caitsith if they want to rape their own effectiveness with terrible job combos.

DRK/SMN FTW!

Wow, that was so terrible, I think it gave me cancer...

I used to know almost everyone on Quetzalcoatl. All the good players got bored of the game and decided to either just quit or move over to WoW or another MMORPG. After that happened, lots of newcomers started coming in from people inviting them over, which is a good thing... the only bad thing about all that is that people all managed to speed-level all the way to 60 and ruin it for everyone else. I know like four or five people right off the bat who got to level 60 in about two weeks.

And because of all the noobs, the few remaining decent players on QC decided the game sucked, and they quit. I don't want to quit the game, myself. It's a fun game. I just don't have fun playing with kids all the time.

(By the way, this wasn't intended to be a flame in the first place. But you guys decided to hate me for liking Caitsith better than QC, so... whatever)

Well congratulations on finding your new server...however I think this must be said..

If you run away from your old problems, you're bound to run into new ones.

You complain about people being "noobs" and not being able to party.....

....Weren't we all noobs 'once upon a time' ?

I'm sorry but I disagree about your comment on Quetz. For the parties that I setup, especially at lower levels - of course some people aren't going to do their job 'properly'. Everyone needs to learn, I'm thankfull for the people who were patient with me when I was a 'noob'.

I've had to teach THF's how to use SATA. WHM's how to use Divine Seal. PLD to Cover. BLM how to Magic Burst. DRK how to use Souleater. And about 20+ Skillchains I've had to setup.

Why do you complain about this?

It makes me happy that I've taught someone how a party works. How to make a good presence in party. It's pretty sad that this seems like the main reason that you joined another server.....

We were all noobs, until someone showed us what to do...

Sorry bud, I haven't had any big problems with Quetz..The ones that I have had were easily fixed.

I'm pretty offended about how you say "And because of all the noobs, the few remaining decent players on QC decided the game sucked, and they quit. I don't want to quit the game, myself. It's a fun game. I just don't have fun playing with kids all the time."

Maybe you suck and that's why I've never seen you before ingame.

Rank 5? Pffft.

What part of "to an extent" do you not understand?

In repliance to Dowzer's comment... there's a difference between "noobs" and "newbs". Noobs are just damn morons that can't do sh*t if they tried. I blame it all on the speed-levelers... ie: those people who got power levels in every single pary they were ever in, and never learned. Is it my fault? Hell no. Like I said, I always made sure I didn't power level the same people too much.

Also, there's a huge difference in teaching a Lv30 THF what "SATA" does, and teaching a Lv70 PLD how to use Provoke. Or teaching a Lv55 WHM how to cast Cure. Or replying to a Samurai after him asking the question "what's a skillchain?".

good will u be dieing soon or will we have to wait a few years.

every server is gonna have ppl that u dont get along with and every server is gonna have ppl that dont play the game to ur liking. stop being a whiney bitch about it, just ingnore them and move on. and no one turned this into a flame it always was one and ur failure to realize ppl would take it that way further proves ur stupidity.

Why don't you teach these people how to play properly? Yes it is partly your fault, for not even trying to teach them.
Speed-levelers? Huh? I can gain MORE exp than a party being power leveled. It all depends on your patience when creating a party. People who don't know how to play the game - will invite a job just to fill the spot.
Not me, everyone of those 6 spots is valuable..Hence why I try to have the best gear at any level.

There isn't a very big difference when teaching a Lv30 THF how to SATA and teaching a lv70 PLD to provoke.
Reason being:
#1. Are you even lv70?
#2. Because I've never ran into a PLD who didn't know how/when to provoke. However, I've had to teach a PLD when to Cure himself to gain more hate.

Ultimate Reason:
There is no difference, douche. You must live your life by cliche. Because I have taught many old dogs - new tricks.

Seems to me like you are running away from your problems, because you cannot solve them.

Goodluck with Caitsith. You will run into the same problems there, too.

1% of the server are noobs? Sounds like this server has a low population.

better than our 99% asshats on our server D:

You make it sound like Caitsith is an uber server, but you've probably only been there what, 2 weeks at the most? You wont have had the chance to see HNM/Sky LS drama, play with the more 'l33t' players (since aparently all you care about is whether the person is l33t, aka better than you, or a n00b, aka, worse than you.). Hell, you haven't even had chance to experience much of Quetzal's HNM/Sky scene.

You can't make generalised assumptions on a server from leveling from (probably) 1-18~ because you're probably still kissing every high level's ass that passes through the dunes to help you with a magicked skull. They're probably thinking to themselves, "gawd what noobs, I might change to quetzalcoatl, I hear they have their own message boards and everything, a server that cool couldn't possibly have noobs.".

Another rant, stop saying noobs. It's an appalling word really, it sounds horrible to say, and it sounds almost derogatory but also completely stupid. You over use the term, and it frankly makes you sound too stuck up your own ass to even consider anyone with a level lower than your own to have not even a single scrap of skill at this game.

Have fun finding out that basically every server has "noobs", learn to be a little more tolerable or don't come back.

Hope things work out for you as you seem to hate Quetz so much. I have friends on other servers but I still don't play on it as I like the community here too much. People are friendly to me here.....I probably have people that don't like me...but geez, I don't expect the whole world to like me.

Server economies are screwed anywhere you go. It's just part of FFXI now. Even the new servers are going to have messed up servers as you'll see high level people jump ship so they can try to own the HNMs and make a killing but still expect all the newbs to have the money to afford the old server prices. You can probably find people to give you money on this server too if you looked around.

It's all about where you want to call your home. If that's your new home, have fun.

Btw: People would welcome you here too if you didn't make such a big deal over the little things.

So since we suck so much, lucky you, you can finally leave this shitty server th-whatever.

I see WAR/MNK and WAR/THF get invites on our server, too. I got a PT invite on SAM/DRG today. Which leads into...

Like I said, I always made sure I didn't power level the same people too much.

I actually haven't encountered that many people who refuse to listen to suggestions and information that they didn't know yet, and I have several jobs up to Kazham levels now. The few that haven't listened, I've just tried to put up with, ignore, and work around their crappiness. It usually works out fine, either that or the exp is crap and I find an excuse to leave the PT quickly.

And besides anything else, you like to call yourself a power leveler, which means that, regardless of how much you PL people, the very fact that you do helps cause the problems that you whine about so very much. When I went through Valkurm for the first few times (on RDM, WHM to 15, and then WAR and DRG), I never once got power leveled. The first time I ever got power leveled was when I needed to catch up WHM for subbing on DRG (had DRG at like mid 40's by then) and got PL.

The very fact that people like you offer PLing to lower level parties says to the newer players that that kind of assistance is normal, possibly even expected, as you go through all of the lower level areas (up through Kazham - I've had PLs in Yuhtunga bloody Jungle, and not just once, and yes we were fighting Mandragora!).

Also, there's a huge difference in teaching a Lv30 THF what "SATA" does, and teaching a Lv70 PLD how to use Provoke. Or teaching a Lv55 WHM how to cast Cure. Or replying to a Samurai after him asking the question "what's a skillchain?".

I haven't encountered a player that deficient in brain power since level 50, and it was a Dark Knight who didn't have a single point of +Accuracy on his gear, and didn't use Sushi either. However, I am pleased to note that after a few mobs, he commented on how much TP I was getting and how well I was hitting, and I told him to examine me.. he was surprised at all my +Accuracy gear, and I explained how effective it is. That very weekend he did a few BCNMs and earned himself enough money for a pair of Sniper's Rings and a Life Belt.

Sangroso is level 73 now and overall is very well equipped.

I never partied with the PLD 70, but I asked around lots of m LS's about "this one guy" and he apparently partied with a lot of my LS members, who all pretty much said "he's a paladin that can't provoke".

Anyway, this is supposed to be a "Good Times" thread... Thanks, Palum, for not being one of the "99% asshats on our server", as Elemmire helps me point out.

Yes, I am running away from my problems... no, I didn't "not try to fix" them, though. Can't really do much when no one listens in the first place. Yes, I've definately tried. Seems to be a deficiency in people listening nowadays...

First off, WAR/MNK and WAR/THF are good anyway, so that's no big deal. WAR/NIN doesn't get good 'til 24, and doesn't get REALLY good 'til 50 anyway. SAM/DRG is just useless. There's the door! That's actually disgusting, just get out! <Points to the door>
