Call of Duty 4 official thread

As much as I am loving CoD4, the lack of a custom game lobby is really crappy. There are times I wish I could get some friends on my list together and place certain maps to learn all the ins and outs, but the lack of custom games makes that impossible. Couple that along with the servers IW provide being utter shit, with finding games sometimes taking forever, even though I know for a fact I am not the only user looking for a game. Might be going back to Resistance if it doesn't get better. At least there, my K/D gets me some ass O.O lol j/k :D
 
Rock Band, I dunno, Fire.. they're sending out limited supplies because of the price tag.

And thats weird, Lanien. 360 version has Private matches.
 
Resistance is in a lot of ways the better game, especially online, but I'm so much better at Call of Duty 4 that it's fun to actually be kicking people's asses. There are so many great players on Resistance online, and the gameplay is so fast it's hard to keep up.

There are private matches Skaw. But it's not really practical to expect to be able to populate an entire match off friend invites, which is the only way to get people in on them. I've gotten like 4 people on my friends list playing with me for a while, but you aren't going to get that many friends online at once, all playing COD4, all wanting to leave what they're doing to do a big match. And you don't get exp at all.

What's nice about resistance is you can make custom matches and random people can enter them if you want.

Most gamestores aren't even filling more than the pre-orders for that. Only the ~8 people that preordered it are getting it from my store.
 
Well, you don't get exp because of what happened with private matches in R6: Vegas. People just unlocked all their weapons doing offline matches.

And for the Rock Band supplies/preorders only, it seems universal.
 
We'll see about that. I've got Walmart, Circuit City, Best Buy, FYE and 2 Gamestops near me, not to mention a mall like 20 minutes away. If I can't get Rock Band at any of them day one, I'll be surprised, but not too depressed over it. As I look at all the other games i want, not so sure i'd pick Rock Band for what i could buy 3 others for. Even some games I wasn't planning on buying... like Time Shift, Medal of Honor, ext... all together probably better than Rock Band. We'll see.
 
A lot of it has to do with stores not wanting to pay out the ass for them, just to have them sit around. On top of Harmonix not wanting to make a whole lot of them for the same reason.

And since Gamestops a bunch of whores who just thrive off trade ins, they aren't going to order more than they need to since the trade in rate for peripherals is extremely low.

I don't know what FYE is, but i would say that Best Buy would be your best bet (pun?). Gamestop is bad for Skaw's reason, and i've never seen Walmart hold anything for longer then a few hours with the way they treat street dates, and i've never even seen circuit city have any video games, but thats probably because there are no Circuit Cities around me.
 
CoD4 was sold out at my gamestop on release day. But i just drove 2 mins to the best buy close by and they had a ton so it was no bigs.
 
FYE is pretty much a store thats similiar to Wal Marts electronics section, and only that.

Atleast, the ones around here are like that. They aren't big warehouse shops like Walmart, Best Buy, or Toys R Us.

Best Buy/Toys R Us are your best bets for finding Rock Band though, since they have a lot more storage than a Gamestop, they're likely going to order more than they have pre-orders for. You still have the problem with the low supply being sent out, however.

326th in kills as of now on xbox. About 1k behind the top 100, maybe ill catch up tomorrow. The top 10 are like 9k ahead of me though D:

I know, i saw, it made me a sad panda :( But then i got assassins creed so i ended up taking a bit of a break too. Still jumped on at the end of the night and owned some kids with the 50 cal though. 32 and 4 in a team hardcore match. Rape.
 
Represented DBAG last night with raidrx going 84-30 again lol... Breaking a little for ACreed also. Still going to jump on for a couple hours a day tho lol.
 
Last night, which was probably more a warning than anything, was my greatest night ever in CoD4. I always do very well but I played spot on for about 8 hours last night. Never went under 18 kills or over 8 deaths. Had three of the best matches of my time. One was 42 and 7 (TDM), 32 and 8 (TDM), and 26 and 3 (TDM).
