Carrie Prejean is a stupid bitch.

Last I checked, one is allowed to voice their opinion in this country, no matter what it is.

If a Neo-Nazi is allowed to spew is hate-filled rhetoric over a bullhorn in a public forum, a good looking girl from California should be allowed to politely answer a pageant question (asking her opinion mind you) without getting raked over the coals.

Statement put in spoiler for obscenity and offensiveness.

Spoiler:
I'm all for gay marriage. Better a dick going into Perez Hilton's mouth than idiocy coming out.

Last I checked, one is allowed to voice their opinion in this country, no matter what it is.

You're allowed to voice your opinion, but there's no law saying people aren't allowed to think you're a douche for saying it.

Not that I think that really applies to Miss Cali. I think she got slammed for being inarticulate more than anything else, although Hilton certainly disliked the content.

There was a fun shot in Crank: High Voltage where a stripper took a round through the boobs and they started to deflate. I couldn't help but chuckle at the image.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Really, though... who cares what a beauty queen thinks about anything?

I think Hali summed it up on page one. I don't know why this thread is still alive.

Honestly, if people had just yawned and rolled their eyes at her, her 10 mins of fame would have been up 9 minutes ago. The more people get pissed off at her and debate her, the more the far, far, right-wing will keep trotting her out.

I am glad she answered the exact way she did, the other chick was hotter.....

wait so your bashing some one for saying their personal opinion and not lying about how they feel about a certain subject.. im sorry but THAT is a disgrace....

Just because some one was honest about how they feel doesn't give you the right to put them down, i'm not for nor against what she said but the fact that people are bashing her for telling the truth about how she feels is bull shit

She is stupid because she is uninformed about her most dearly held beliefs and cannot seem to express them intelligently. She is a bitch because she has the gall to cling to said beliefs so adamantly without having a clue, for being a hypocrite and for allowing herself to become a puppet of a horrible organisation devoted to hate. I'll give her a break though and assume she had no idea what the National Organization for Marriage was (and probably still doesn't) despite their constant media focus of late.

It's surprising how quickly people from both sides of a contentious issue decide to form a negative opinion of people who disagree with them. It's really sad in a way, as emotion boils over logic, people who preach tolerance as well of people who preach Christian ideals can show themselves to ignore the spirit of all of that.

The fallout of having an unpopular opinion in "touchy issues" as many posters here are displaying is the very reason these issues are touchy. It's also a reason why people keep their views so private and while it appears everyone is oh-so cultured, voters tend to vote against gay marriage.

Removing the emotion and focusing on the logic I feel would better sway opinions, though the objective is rarely to sway anyone's opinion, rather to fire up complacent people who already agree.

The only thing I am intolerant of is intolerance itself - especially if someone wants to make it law. I don't criticise these people for their unpopular views. I criticise them because they want to elevate these divisive views over everyone else's and at the expense of others. That's a no-no in a secular society. If that makes me intolerant of bigots - then so be it.

I want this to happen, and then for her to change her tune. THAT would be fucking glorious, or have to back out of the lime light as she comes to the realization she's fighting for a 'cause' she doesn't agree with anymore. People are too full of false-pride to back peddle most of the time.

I'm just dreaming up the scenario though, I still want so bad for it to happen.

I think we may see her shy away sooner than expected, considering she is now involved in a nude picture scandal. How sacreligious. What was that adage about sinners casting stones?

http://www.popcrunch.com/miss-california-nude-picture-carrie-prejean-naked-photo-scandal/

I had completely forgotten about that passage in the Bible:
"Verily I say unto ye seek after vanity and fake boobs at all costs, for whoring thyself is most holy and the lord doth value such virtues over Love and Compassion. This shalt grant ye passage into the kingdom of heaven."

Exactly. She came across as a complete airhead. She definitely could have phrased it better. As was stated earlier "my country" and "opposite sex"... really?

"Racy" Pictures of Carrie Prejean as a teen show up on the Intarwebs.

/facepalm, because I, like every other Christian, wear a modesty cloth and don't look when having sex with my wife.

With the lights off too amirite?

Although Prejean said the pictures were taken when she was 17, others have alleged that they seem to have been taken after she underwent breast-enhancement surgery six weeks prior to the Miss USA pageant. That surgery was paid for by the Miss California pageant.

You mean... those are fake? IT CAN'T BE TRUE!!

Don't bother. They will continue to rack her over the coals cause most of the people in this thread are hypocrites. Ironically she would not be being bashed is she just LIED and gave some bullshit liberal response. It's so sad you can't state your opinion without getting trashed by "open-minded" liberals.

Was her answer the greatest. No. It's a fucking beauty pageant. She's 21 years old. She's standing in front of a crowd of thousands being watched on tv by millions. God forbid she gets a little nervous when she'd asked such a controversial question. All she did was give her opinion. How the hell does this display all kinds of, "ignorance" and "not knowing what's she's talking about"

Oh yeah because it wasn't the "POLITICALLY CORRECT" answer.

1) "In my country" = It is her fucking country and in her country more people agree with her point of view then don't.

2) "opposite marriage" = she was fucking nervous, get over it. you all sound like that douchebag Perez Hilton when you keep knocking her. Your the ones fueling the fire of her "Traditional Marriage Campaign"

Keep it up....

lol I don't know about you, but I generally take "In My Country" as a statement an immigrant would say to refer to his/her country. Usually, when they're not currently in their country. I don't know, that's just me I guess.

I AM liberal, shit I'm Canadian and female I couldn't get MORE liberal, but that's not to say listening to her response without prejudice didn't make her sound like an idiot. She sounded like an idiot.

I get being nervous, they prepare I imagine, and if you don't know what you're getting into then perhaps it's better to play it safe. Otherwise you may end up a hot topic on QCDN gay vs. nay column.

Also, it IS one thing to have an opinion and share it, there's not a damn thing wrong with that, and I would defend anyone to shares theirs even if it differs from my own. But like someone stated earlier, I think it may have been Linh, you don't then become a spokesperson for a certain 'movement' if you will, without learning some fucking facts on the topic your so set in your ways believing. Sorry, THAT is ignorance.

Just to make this clear, I have opinions and feel pretty strongly about things that I don't have all the facts on, I may debate it here, but there'd be NOWAY I'd be up for making an absolute ass of myself by sharing my narrow minded belief(s) with the world. Wouldn't happen.

You mean the movement that wants to make her their spokesperson? Ther "opposite marriage" movement? SUPPORT OPPOSITE MARRIAGE! That's the most ludicrous thing I've heard, how is it not already supported?

And no, nerves aren't an excuse, you're a beauty contestant who has been "modelling" and in pageants for years now. If you're still nervous about it enough to insult a rather large group of people, then maybe that's not the job for you.

I know that she said (after the fact) that she does not have a problem with gays/lesbians and that she just disagrees with their right not marriage, but being a role model is also part of being "Queen". I don't think it's passing the right message of tolerance and "to each his/her own" to children.

Yes, commendable that she told the truth. I don't think it was a fair question to be asked really, but if she had gotten another question, she would probably have won.

As I said before, there are no laws saying you can't be trashed for stating your opinion. We have freedom of speech, not freedom from repercussion. It's the height of foolishness to think people can say anything they want and never have to answer for it. It's not like she's backing down from her position.

As to the second point... you're right. It's a beauty pageant. They're judged on poise and how well they think on their feet. The question could've been about her opinion of Hostess cupcakes, and she would've lost points if she'd flubbed it the same way because she was nervous.

This.

I'm a pretty darn good public speaker - I did debate and a few other activities that required a lot of talking in front of people. Even with that experience, it's STILL hard for me to answer questions off the cuff when in a high-pressure situation like that.

You've *really* got to pause and get your thoughts in order before talking if you want to both sound good and get across what you're thinking. There's a reason that politicians use delaying tactics such as rephrasing the question or using irrelevancies to buy themselves time to frame what they're going to say.

It's a tall order for a 21 year old who's obviously spent more time primping in a mirror than speaking in front of one to lay down in a flawless sentence in what is perhaps the most important part of her life so far. You can tell from the video that she knows *what* she wants to say, she's just flubbing up the phraseology due to nerves.

I give her credit for having the balls (or in her case, ovaries) to give anything but the pat, politically correct answer. You think she didn't know exactly who Perez Hilton was and what agenda he had with that question? She probably knew, as she was saying it, exactly what she was doing to her chances of winning.

And she did it anyway, because it's what she believed. That's courage.

Honestly, I respect the gay rights movement. I may not agree with all of it, but I know it takes a special kind of courage to go against the conventions of society (you know, kind of like saying something in a crowded theater that you know 90% of the audience disagrees with).

You will win support for your cause by showing the same kind of courage that Miss California showed... NOT by tearing her down and ridiculing her.

Yet she continues to speak her mind interview after interview without having done the research. I don't think that's courage, that's just stupidity.

What is this research your looking for? Should she submit a thesis for your review? What the hell are you talking about?

She said in her initial answer paraphrasing, "how she was brought up". That's all you need to know. OBVIOUSLY she came from a religious family. Its pretty irrelevant which one since I think 99% of them say homosexuality is a sin. So based on her faith she's against it.

If your a Christian, and obviously this person is, you don't need to do research to prescribe to Christian values. Sorry if having these values OFFEND liberals but maybe you should try to be as "open-minded" as you pretend you are and at least respect it.

Even if you, gasp! don't agree. She's entitled to her god damn opinion and her ridiculous opposite marriage campaign.

Of course you would try to have me repeat myself, but I won't. Read back a couple posts.

If no viable reasoning other than 'my pastor said it's a sin and they will burn in hell', then she should say it and shrink back to the shallow career that is pageant life. Of course that's MY opinion, what say you?

If anyone wants to say she's stupid, ignorant, dumb, a bitch, etc. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But damn it attack her looks and YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR. Her hotness is not even debatable.

Change her face, or her face in that picture. She looks like she's had way too much work done to be appealing there.

Well the bible, a book she believes was written by god, tells her its wrong. You already know this. If their was a logical reason to oppose gay marriage then I probably would but we all know their isn't any valid reason to other then for religious reasons. But for people who live their lives by their religion that's all the reason they need.

You CAN'T rationalize religion. That's why its called faith.

Other then her boobs which are fake, and the surgeons did a great job on those knockers, I'm not seeing all this "work". She's freaking 21 how much could she have done? You guys make her sound like she's on par with a Pamela Anderson or something. Now that bitch is pure plastic.

...... what are you talking about? I never mentioned anything about rationalizing her beliefs. Merely, if she ain't got nothing more to say other than "I think its wrong, my daddy, god, pastor, the bible, told me so, it's a sin and they'll burn in hell" , then her deed, or whatever, is done, we got all that when she opened her mouth the first time.

She can shut up and go home now, apparently without more background, that being research to add to her argument she's got nothing more interesting to say but to reiterate a point we already know full well. The whole WORLD knows where her views are, I'm not arguing her views. See where I'm going with this?
