They steamrolled today. LOL@ the ACC. Bama who is picked to finish 6th-7th in the SEC beat the hell out of Clemson, picked to finish 1st in the ACC.

Florida, Georgia, LSU, Aubrun all backhanded their opponents.

USC didnt look great. Michigan lost to Utah (lol@Big Ten football)

If a SEC team doesnt make it to the National Championship, its because they'll have 6 top 25 teams all beating up on each other.

On a different note. My team the University of Southern Mississippi with first year head coach Larry Fedora just set a school record with over 630 offensive yards!

Heh, Puttin' Clemson up that high was stupid. It would have still been stupid if the SEC didn't exist.

Usually, openin' day is suppose to be like this. I can't remember a time it wasn't. To be honest, I was actually in a state of "WTF" over the Alabama and Clemson pairin'. However, despite the crappy start off ranks, at about half time I was thinkin', "I see wut u did thar!"

Good teams in weak conferences. The reason why college football's rankings and "system" need to be fixed.

When is this ever NOT the case?? Very, very rarely.

But you believe that the SEC is great. Most Pac-10, Big 10, Big 12, ACC fans are in denial.

Florida's D looked alot better with the front getting a push on an O that was doing quick drop back passes. Demps/Rainey are insane along with the best KR in the land, Brandon James. Beating Hawaii 56-10 without opening our playbook in the least. Should be an excellent year for the Gators!

I'm lookin' forward to the Gators this season as well. I expected them to beat Hawaii but not just outright slaughter them. To me it seemed like they didn't even have to try. Personally, I think the game should have aired on Comedy Central.

I know. I just had to show you some love.

Yeah, I wish Tebow had a better game, but they didn't really need him that game lol.

the SEC is good, but they are not that great. They very rarely travel west of the mississippi or north of the mason-dixon, and when one does venture beyond those boundaries, they usually get stomped. So what if Michigan looked bad EVERYONE knew Michigan was going to be bad, and to be honest they are probably going to be bad for the next two seasons as well. I thought USC looked decent, and considering they were one of the few bigtime programs to take on a real program this weekend, it looks all the better.

Honestly, the two best teams in CFB are Ohio State and USC. I think Oklahoma is getting over looked as well. I know Ohio State got blown out in the title game last year, but it was the title-game after all, and what people fail to remember is that it was a rebuilding year for Ohio State. They are LOADED with returning starters and talent for a run this year. If USC beats OSU in a close game, I would not be surprised to see a rematch in the title game. It sucks too, because those two teams are at the top of my "teams I hate the most" list.

I saw some SEC fans whinning about the new standings today. In the middle of the usual crying and name calling from both sides, one post stood out that had me rolling:

NONE OF YOU TOOLS KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT...

If you have five dollars and USC has five dollars, USC has more money than you.

There is no 'ctrl' button on PETE CARROLL'S computer. PETE is always in control.

Apple pays USC 99 cents every time TheY listen to a song.

THE ENTIRE TEAM can sneeze with their eyes open.

USC players can eat just one Lay's potato chip.

Pete Carroll is suing Myspace for taking the name of what he calls everything around you.

USC destroyed the periodic table, because they only recognized the element of surprise.

Pete Carroll can kill two stones with one bird.

I hope like 4 big name teams go undefeated this year and fuck the BCS in the ass. Still, I'd have to agree with the SEC being the best, and I really dislike most of those teams.

Alanon, I'm sorry our Florida Gators broke your heart last year. That's hardly a reason to make up such ludicrous stuff though.

Huh? I don't where this came from. Dude, I have been a true blue Michigan fan for the last 30+ years. Whooping on the Gators in the bowl was the lone hilight of the season (and probably for the next couple of seasons....).

Crompton's season is starting out the same as Vince Youngs preseason started out... too bad for crompton this isn't the preseason this is the real deal. He doesn't have 4 games against real team to get ready for a game that matters... He lost the opening game of the year, setting the tempo on which we have to move on to the bye week to try and find a new kicker (lolLincoln). The Gators are going to come up on him all too soon, I think it will be interesting to see how Tennessee does against UAB after their 100% let down to their fans against UCLA.

P.S. Giaganta, I only know of one other kicker to miss field goals like that. . .

Sorry, forgot about this thread.

That was more of a conference joke than me insultin' you by callin' you an Ohio fan. All in fun though, I wasn't tryin' to be a douche. Leads me to a decent story though. I was pumpin' gas last week and this guy pulls up in a car with two stickers on it. One says Michigan Blows and the other was in support of Ohio State. I yelled to him, "Michigan sucks!" and he went all stupid frat boy like, "Ahhh, hell yeah man, hell yeah!" and I continued with, "But not near as much as Ohio State" the look on his face was priceless. I had on my Florida Gators shirt (he couldn't see it thought I was behind my truck), despite bein' a true Auburn fan I support LSU, Florida, and Georgia, so he knew what was up when I walked over to him to shake his hand.

michigan doesnt have a chance in hell until at least...at least next season. probably not even then. they have too many new faces to be a threat. myself, i used to be a huge michigan fan until i moved to florida. then i became a noles fan after i saw how much faster they play. UofM tends to play more conservative. on the noles subject, they are looking good so far this season. however, they havent really played anyone. the two they have played, they blew em out. first on was 69-0 and the other i think was 40 somthing to 7. they are in the same boat as michigan. alot of young faces.

I think it will be at least three years before Michigan has a competetive team. The first factor is that they just don't have the players. If Pryor had come, it would be a little different, but not much. The second factor being that it's very obvious that Rich Rod hasn't put in even half his offense yet. Watching the UM-ND game, I was a little dismayed when the rain started to fall and the field was obviously getting slick, and Rich Rod still had his QB in the gun. I commented to a friend on just how dumb I thought that was, and sure enough, the very next snap was fumbled. This is why I am a little skeptical on just how effective a spread offense can be in the north, once the cold rain and snow starts to fly. I do hope that I am wrong.

I think I am adopting the Big12 this year. The fans of the SEC, Big10, and Pac10 are just too fucking annoying. I make the mistake of reading the foxsports message boards and am consistantly amazed at the stupidity. I actually saw an LSU fan ripping on OSU's 'piss-weak' schedule because they were playing Troy this week. I so badly wanted to remind the guy that LSU had scheduled Troy as a warmup before they played that powerhouse from North Texas......

Well no shit LSU and most SEC teams schedule weak out of conference opponents. Have you seen the in-conference schedule? SEC teams have to play 6-7 legitimate programs every year within the conference, and thats still more then PAC-10, ACC, Big 10, Big East, Big 12 teams scheduling 1-2 tough out of conference teams every year have to face. Teams liks OSU and So Cal wouldn't even be considered for the National Championship game if they didn't schedule tough teams out of conference. Hell most of they're ratings come from the out of conference.

Big 12 is the only one that compares to the SEC right now. Kansas, Missouri, Texas and Oklahoma... and guess what? Missouri doesn't even have to play Oklahoma, what A BIG JOKE, and Texas is overrated big time.

The fact that they play 6 or 7 legit teams is all opinion. We just don't know how good the SEC really is because they rarely play anyone other than themselves.

That is because the conference is tough. If they scheduled ranked teams out of conference as well, then they would never make it to the national championship games ever. Hardly no team could go undefeated playing 7 ranked opponents in a season, every season. Btw, they're bowl record in the BSC bowls proves they're legitimate.

Honestly, I would love to see USC, OSU, Missouri, Kansas, play a schedule that looks like this. Playing LSU at LSU, then going straight to Florida in the Swamp the following week. Then getting Alabama, and Auburn the next two weeks or replace one of them with Georgia. Then playing South Carolina which is considered a bottom feeder LOL, a team that would finish 1st or 2nd in the ACC.

Hell, because they don't have to leave their conference to prove anything, unlike teams in other conferences. It may only be an opinion that the SEC is the hardest conference to win out of, but that's the case with anything sports wise really. However, despite it bein' an opinion you don't hear it from EPSN or any sports news source year AFTER year AFTER year because it's a dismissible or a highly incorrect opinion. I thought Anglis was crazy to say people were in denial but I guess he was right.

Let's have some more fun:

USC's 2008 schedule (a "top dawg" team to the r-tards):
8-30-08 Virginia (weak)
9-13-08 Ohio State (weak this year and obviously last year, out of conference, lulz)
9-25-08 Oregon State (weak)
10-4-08 Oregon (ehh, maybe, maybe not but only in their conference)
10-11-08 Arizona State (weak)
10-18-08 Washington State (weak)
10-25-08 Arizona (weak)
11-1-08 Washington (weak)
11-8-08 California (maybe conference wise)
11-15-08 Stanford (weak)
11-29-08 Notre Dame (weak)
12-6-08 UCLA (weeeeeak 59-0 loss to BYU, ouch)

Auburn's 2008 schedule (a middle of the road team)
08/30/08 vs. Louisiana-Monroe (weak)
09/06/08 vs. Southern Miss (weak)
09/13/08 at Mississippi State (weak but usually end up bein' a thorn)
09/20/08 vs. LSU (strong)
09/27/08 vs. Tennessee (decent)
10/04/08 at Vanderbilt (decent)
10/11/08 vs. Arkansas (weak/decent but they'll force close games eventually, no doubt.)
10/23/08 at West Virginia (hard to say, decent last year but so-so, so far)
11/01/08 at Mississippi (weak/decent)
11/08/08 vs. Tennessee-Martin (HC) (weak)
11/15/08 vs. Georgia (solid)
11/29/08 at Alabama (solid)

My decisions of a teams density is not solely based on this year alone, though in some cases, i.e. Arkansas, Tennessee, and Ohio State it is.

Even if I don't label the teams with my opinions, it's clear who has the toughest schedule to anyone with an ounce of sports intelligence to them.

Like Anglis, the next best schedule to the SEC schedule is the Big 12 schedule in which, like he said, Mizzou never plays Oklahoma, lawlz. He's also right about Texas, extremely overrated EXACTLY like Ohio State was. The Big 12 also don't have the reputation for beatin' themselves up either.

Show me a tougher schedule not in the SEC, it's simply not possible.

09/13/08 at Mississippi State (great defense)
09/20/08 vs. LSU (strong)
09/27/08 vs. Tennessee (decent/can still upset easily)
10/04/08 at Vanderbilt (decent/thorn)
10/11/08 vs. Arkansas (weak/decent but they'll force close games eventually, no doubt.)
10/23/08 at West Virginia (so-so, lost to ECU, but still competitve)
11/01/08 at Mississippi (weak/decent, getting better)
11/08/08 vs. Tennessee-Martin (HC) (weak)
11/15/08 vs. Georgia (Strong)
11/29/08 at Alabama (Strong, two years having the top recruiting class)

Thing is, some of those decent teams are only decent in the SEC. Think if they played in other conferences? I think they would be better

Also, Southern Miss, my favorite team and the school I attend aren't pushovers for a small school. They actually compete well and have had 15 straight winning seasons. They're weak compared to a lot of teams in the SEC, but that just proves my point even some of the SEC weak teams could compete in the ACC, Big East, Pac-10. I'd put USM up against anyone from the Big East, ACC, and most teams from the Pac-10.

My favorite team isn't in the SEC, but I still know they're the best. I told you Strid that people in other conference's are just blind homers.

I gave my team some extra loving in the quote LOL.
