I know a thing or two about bard and hitting paladins with ballad while missing the melee, and hitting the ninja with madrigal while missing the rangers. It takes a tiny bit of skill to find that spot, but imagine if all you had to do was hit the paladin and mages with ballad. Would it take skill to find that spot and stand still there repeating your ballad macro?
Apparently for most people who play this game it does.
Jokes aside, doens't it take more skill than before? Range wasn't a factor before, and now it is. Thus it takes skill, if your comparing it to the skill of playing basketball like Micheal Jordan, then ya. NO skill at all.
But we are comparing before and after the update. And Range factors in a skill were it wasn't needed before. Take HNM fights for instance, its gonna take alot of skill now that you have a range and teamwork for the ones that kiting and teamwork on the DD so the mob doesn't sway off course. Skill, Luck, teamwork it all factors in to the complexity and adds to the depth and fun of the game. And when you have a Player that can do all that in a party, nobody calls him lucky, they call him "good", skilled. If any stupid fool could do it, would it be any fun for you?
It sure wouldn't for me, thats why I play REdmage, I know you'd argue it don't take skill to play that, but i'd argue to death with you about that. BEcause I think it does. Takes skill, patience, luck, and most of all high tolerance for assholes. This is why its my first job and still the one I enjoy, cept for the assholes part.
Is this update flawless? Probably not, it probably needs a little more tweaking, but adding complexity is never a bad thing IMO. Maybe an update is required, but maybe you just haven't found the secret to being the "new" ranger yet. Yes you probably will not be the "superheros" you once were, As we all know overpowered jobs get axed or get ignored, but your place is still there.
Good luck to you Rangers regardless, and I hope none of you quit because of this.
