Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time

This is what Ring of Fates should've been. Online play was a must, and the textures look a little better, but it's basically Ring of Fates with online multiplayer. Doesn't really seem to be any changes to the mechanics.
I'll probably get the soundtrack long before I'll get the game, but I love Kumi Tanioka's work.

Was interested... But i am not feeling this games style of multiplayer..

1 Wii player and all others need a DS and the DS game. I just would never be able to get my friends to put up the funds for this type of game. Oh well.

No, the cross-platform function isn't forced. The DS and the Wii versions can both connect to one another, but they don't *have* to. The DS can connect to other DS units as well as WiFi. The Wii version can't connect to other Wiis (not much point) but can connect to the DS version, and of course can also go online.

The WiFi capabilities in this game are pretty robust. You're able to enter friend codes to play with friends, as usual, but you also have the ability to play with random strangers. You can switch the search function between Continental and Worldwide.

I managed to pick it up at the last second yesterday night, and it's a really fun game in its own right. Highly recommended. <- This is coming from someone who didn't bother with the CC series before, with maybe the exception of My Life as a King.

Same here, the game is a lot of fun, even by yourself. I have never felt like playin' my DS while at home like I do my consoles until I picked this up. I normally just use it when I'm out and about or on a plane, but this game just begs to be played like a normal console game and of course I'm happy to oblige. Havin' played this I'm lookin' that much more forward to Phantasy Star 0. I seem to get just a good enough connection off my DS as anything else, wirelessly speakin', though I try not to use wireless unless I have to on my CPU and consoles. I like the fact that you don't have to have friend codes to get a game, I only have one. Since it handles so well I think I'mma get one of those Wi-Fi USB things for my computer so I don't have to break out my wireless router again at the house.

You know, I'm getting pretty pissed off at developers not using the voice chat capabilities of the DS, especially in games where communication plays a pretty large role.

Yeah, no shit. When I'm playin' online I either have to be near my computer, for vent, or use my phone. If I didn't only play with friends I'd be boned.

I bought the DS headset because I figured it's release meant there'd be more games to use voice chat.

I haven't used it once.

I've heard so many good things about this game (the DS version anyway). I'm gonna try and pick it up today.

Might have to get JP and Miros to grab this we could just use Skype for chat. Seems like a cool game to play while seeking a party or something haha.

It's a damn good game. Like I said earlier, I'm anti-handheld but this game is makin' me play it every gamin' opportunity I got. If it was on a console, Wii doesn't count (DS version gone wrong), I'd prolly quit WoW.

Picked this up today, having a blast. Only gripe so far is that NPCs are halfway to retarded when it comes to pathfinding, but at least they're smart enough to chain spells.
If anyone's up for some online play, as of this post I'm Level 14 Selkie using Bow.
