I myself have recently taken up leveling the new dancer. Now I've leveled quite a few jobs for a little bit, and aside form monk, never took any far, simply because I lost interest after lv 10ish.

Now I was a bit skeptical at first when I did the dancer flag, but after level 5, I was hooked. Dancer is freakin' awesome! :shok:

From the ridiculous infinite hp due to tp based healing magic, to the fact that we are every position in the party at once, tank, DD, healer... Though of course I've heard we can't tank well later on due to weaker armor...

Other than that, I've come to realize that dancer is an overall wicked job to level past 15. But now I've just passed my 20s, and am faced with a horrible predicament...

My ninja and warrior are level 10. My monk is level 38...

Um...

So now I need to know. If I get really good accuracy gear, and have monk subbed for martial arts (increased HTH speed) plus monks HTH acc+, will I be able to sub my monk all the way to 75? Like really, Utsesumi isn't that big of a deal when you think about it. And sure, we have a slightly lower acc...

But is it viable? Will it work?

Second...

Does anyone here have the hand to hand weapon of trials on them? Can dancers learn Asuran Fists? If not I don;t have much of a choice and have to go with /ninja later anywho u.u

I just really want to avoid having to level a second job. and please don't reply your ideas if you don't know much about dnc. Only people that really understand the job and are taking all aspects into perspective please.

Finally. Do you get more TP dual wielding daggers, then using HTH? Just an afterthought =P

Please no super flaming, this is a question, not a statement. I'm not saying dnc/mnk is better than dnc/nin or anything. I just want advice as to whether or not I should take the time to get lv 37 nin. thanks

I think any job that has to melee the enemy needs /nin as an option on the table. Utsusemi is too handy for its own good. I can't touch the rest. I would just say that if you're levelling any frontline job, you needn't ask if you should level /nin. Unless things change, that answer will always be yes. Now, if you're lucky, maybe it won't be your primary sub, but even then, it probably will be.

First off...

MNK at 38, WAR at 10.... right.

Second. Unless for a specified reason, /NIN sub. You are not a DD, you are a support role that gets to hit the mob. Using H2H will result in lower Acc, less TP gain, and reduce the already small amount of dmg you will do. DW Daggers is the best option.

This is not to say other subs aren't viable, but MNK isn't really one of them.

Also, getting NIN to 37 is always a good idea. Since it is a viable, if not the best sub for many jobs at some point. (Including MNK and DNC)

Disclaimer: I have never played DNC, but this is from experience with them and ideas via common sense.

Dancer has a D level skill in H2H. That means at level 75 your capped skill would be 210, far below the Asuran fists requirement, and way too low to even make contact on EXP mobs leading up to that level. I subbed MNK to 24 (7 H2H merits helped alot) and then switched to /nin.

The benefits of subbing Ninja are far more important than you think. I just dinged 39 the other day, and from 30 till now I haven't parsed more than 24% of the parties damage in any of the parties I've been in, and I'd like to think that I have above-average equipment. I've also averaged around 90% accuracy, which is nice.

Subbing ninja gives you Utsusemi which doesn't seem like a big deal, but it helps significantly if you do pull hate. The reason being: If you pull hate as /mnk and start taking damage, sure you can cure yourself with Curing Waltz and CWII, but those abilities also pull a TON of hate. Now you're practically tanking, costing yourself more TP you could be using for steps/sambas, and costing the main healer more MP, which leads to more downtime and slower exp.

You could get away with /mnk until 30 probably, but after that you are going to notice a significant lack of accuracy. In my opinion /nin is by far the best subjob for Dancer, and I would strongly suggest leveling it.

Yeah, you beat me to it :P

Also, I wouldn't really consider this "End-game discussion", but w/e

Have you read the Dancer forums in the Job section of Allakazham? Granted, that site's not all it's cracked up to be, but the job specific forums tend to be handy for getting the gist of a job's expectations before you progress in it. I know I check the Blm area there to see if various updates affect me any. If you browse the dancer forums you should answer most of your questions.

Thanks for the quick feedback. Well looks like I won't be leveling dancer for awhile.

*goes off in search of some ninja gear*

BTW pomp, http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Dancer

<<< my little guide to my dancer. Though because it's so new, we have very little idea what works and what doesn't. So far the top 3 subs are nin, mnk, and thf.

Keep up the feedback =3

Just so you don't get the wrong idea about DNC...it doesn't matter. You'll NEVER be WSing in anything that you're taking stuff seriously in. You'll want to save *ALL* your TP for dances.

loldnc ws. Yeah def /nin. Their skill in all weapons is stupid low, almost to the point of making them worthless at 75 ( oh wait.. they are worthless at 75). daggers are truly the only option, and I tanked a bit as dnc/nin through the jungles, after that the mobs hit too hard to survive very long at all. And for infinite TP, unless you get lucky and somehow save up 300% at the very start of your pt, you will be hurting for TP throughout if you are doing your job.. or if someone else isn't doing theirs.

(oh wait.. they are worthless at 75)

Funny, but true.

I'm no dancer, but anyone with half a brain should know that mnk shouldn't even be considered a sub job past maybe, 20. And you'll never be using a ws, so don't need to worry about if you can use a certain ws. Just change the topic from "Dancer subs?" to "Sub dancer?", because I see no reason to take this job past 37. It's a pretty badass sub for solo/support though =P

Rihanna has a huge head.

edit: Ol, update your sig biotch.

dancer's shouldnt be concerned about how much they parce due to the nature of their job. they are great solo'rs and have healing spells that have instant effect, which makes them a kickass sub for soloing. But if a DNC used a WS they pretty much cripple their ability to heal. i sit happily at 200-300 TP constantly. the thought of WS'ing never crosses my mind.

2 things a dancer should focus on are 1: surviving and 2: gaining TP as quickly as they can. /NIN put you in the right possition to do just that. which is why it the most used. this game has more then enough DD jobs. leave that to them.

one more thing. lvling a 2nd job is "2nd nature" for this game. for any job you get interested in you will likely have to lvl 1 or 2 others to boost its efficiency.

Actually, Dancer is a pretty good job to level past 75. The simple reason they suck in parties right now, is SE never gave us any gear. no artifact, no Relic, nuthing. All 75 dancers have to scrap up together handicapped gear from other jobs.

After the next update dancers should stop sucking so hard. for example, imagine that tank in your party has absolutely no JSE, Artifact, artifact+1, no Relic, just all the really old gear from years ago.

I've seen a dancer solo the Sea Horror while I was fishing. I believe that right there is enough to merit the fact that dancer does not suck, just has gimped stuff to work with.

Then again, SE may very well give us gimped JSE and artifact gear just because they made us so ridiculously overpowered in the update. Who knows?

If they do like for PUP, they won't give them any good melee gear till the super hard to get gear from a new event, if any (hi animator +1 in einherjar and usukane in salvage, check my sig :o, ashu talif # 3 attachements ...). So be glad that you have palhuwan set, it's not that bad and you probably won't get better any time soon.

If anything AF will be like accuracy +5 on body + 1-2 other pieces usefull during a macro or something. Same for Scholar, probably a body with + skill or magic accuracy + some piece to macro in.

well in the same fashion of when ToAU first came out people ran like rabbits to lvl'ed 2 jobs they knew nothing about and wanted to see what they could do. I remember how so many tried to make DNC a new tank class. i rarely see that anymore since most have powered their way to the upper lvls by soloing or PL'ing.

i was in a a 75 party with a dancer. it was pretty decent. will it make it in the super cannons? nope. since dancers dmg isnt enough to keep up (its not a DD class anyway so that follows). we wont have long to wait to see what the AF does. im betting on seeing DNCs in full AF within 12 hours after the update that adds it (excluding any possible time that you have to wait till JP midnight for something). :P thats also not counting the time it takes for the cloud of dust settling from all the thousands of players running around going the quests. :P

yes dnc/nin solos pretty good at 75.. you know what solos better than dnc/nin? nin/dnc.
Edit: I meant in exp pts atm AND all end game events, no one is gonna say hey come dnc and miss miss miss on my hnms or gods.

I don't think dnc sub is very viable in endgame stuff.

More like soloing, skill ups, and stuff of that nature.
