Well, I did my 'test' run. Found out somethings that'll help for the next run. Just wanted to double check on a few things and get some opinions and suggestions from other DRKs who've done this.

Buy (x?) Icarus Wing's
Buy (x?) " " Potions
Buy 4 Sleeping potions.
-
Other then that, should I have Dark Magic capped when I do this? I didn't, and did a Drain II for under 50 HP. So obviously Dark Magic would highly help.

I have "Absorb ACC" and "Absorb TP"
I used "Absorb ACC" as my initiate battle spell. Then went at it. Would of stunned on Fire II but figured I should save it for Asuran Fists. He Drain IIed me for about 150HP. Yada yada, then he used Maat Bash, which I hate...took a couple more hits then died.
-
The way I plan to do my next run is to use the sleep potions and get 100TP. Absorb ACC, attack, Guillotine, Icarus Wing, Guillotine (Or Cross reaper?), hit a few more times and hopefully he'll die.
-
I most likely will get Dark Magic up so in case I can weapon bash and Drain II, maybe Drain I between his attacks.

Should I bio as well? Maybe just after I absorb ACC? (If yes on the Bio, should I use Bio II?)

Any help would be great, thanks.

Icarus wings get you medicated. So you can only eat one.
Other than that, I'm no melee.

I think I did:
sleep to 100 tp
abs-str
last resort, souleater guillotine
bloodweapon
ic wing, drain 2
guillotine
random mess of potions and spells
guillotine to finish him off.

Badasses do it at 66.

That said, good luck, and swing away to your heart's content.

edit: use a Darksteel Scythe. You won't likely need that ACC+ from Vassago's, and the HP- is shit also.

DS Scythe has more top-end, so you'll definitely want that.

edit2: reference this thread to see my strat.

more edit: did i mention the truly badass do it @ lv66, and go 1/1?

You could try getting a blink band to increase your survival rate.

Aim for a Smart Grenade until you get Bomb Core. It's a really easy quest and will work in the meantime. Just don't throw it. If you're going to Bio use II. Take some Pear Au Lait or some other Regen with you, Blink band / SS torque if you're really worried about taking damage.

Want to loan me one? :)

I'll be farming a bit today to get a bomb core, price isn't really an object since most items desired are under 60k and I can farm that fairly fast.

Still curious about the Dark Magic being capped though. :(

I capped mine on Rdm from 60-69 :/ Then again it helps when besieged rolls around to spam spells. I used to solo it up but haven't capped it for 70 yet.

There is *zero* reason you can't have Dark Magic capped every level, along with scythe. Casting between swings is a prime opportunity to do this, and it not only buffs you, but it debuffs the mob as well. Ergo, spells such as ABS-AGI aren't as useless as most might think.

Cap it, do your shit, and stop analyzing it so much.

Cast before engaging. Heck, pull with Stun. No reason it shouldn't be capped.

Hated pulling. I bio between swings, though on Imps, only get one skill up a fight...besieged sounds like a good idea.

it's best to not use bio at all unless asked for it, people usually want dia II to speed up kills.

but like the others said absorb would net a greater return used modestly

Again don't use bio.

You should be using drains and absorbs, especially abs TP :|

I used to solo EM-T Crabs and Bio to my heart's content, Dunno if you want to try that. Bio I is fine either at the very beginning or right at the end of a fight. Any other time is (even more) pointless (than casting the spell usually is).

We're referring to drks and pt=P

Sleep to 100tp, run in, engage, Soul Eater, Blood Weapon, Last Resort, Guillotine, Vile Elixer, Icarus wing, Guillotine, Game.

I cannot stress enough emphasis on the word VERY in "very easy fight".

When it was my turn to do the DRK Maat fight, I read up on lots of different strategies and I found that there were really only two different ways to do the fight:

1. Completely buff up on powerful gear to kill him off very quickly before he has time to kill you.

2. Pile on the defensive gear and try to tank him.

Naturally, I decided to go the whole beat his ass down quickly route. I tried this method three times and died each time. The reasons for dying were either, Maat was too fast, or he did all the right spells, or all his hit's did criticals, or things just overall went crappy.

Then another DRK friend suggested I try the defensive tank route and it worked wonders. I wore two Phalanx Rings, wore my AF helm and AF legs, had on Powder Boots, and ate Steamed Crab. Went in and did the standard melee preperations: sleep myself with potions till I hit 100 tp, and activated Blink Band. Then I ran in and cast Bio II, then engaged and immediately I did Guillotine + Icarus Wing + Guillotine. I chopped him a few more times, then when he did his 2-hour, I activated the Powder Boots and ran around until his 2-hour wore off. Then I put my Thick Boots back on and went back to meleeing him. I used Vile Elixer and Vile Elixer +1 when I was taking lots of damage, also use regular High-Potions instead of X-Potions because they take too long to drink, and you'll just get pummeled while you are standing there trying to drink, and it'll probably get interrupted anyway. Stun him whenever you can, use Drain when you can, and when you have 100 tp again, use Last Resort + Souleater + Blood Weapon + Guillotine to finish him off.

Set all of these actions to a macro palate, that way you don't have to fumble around with menus or anything. It really is much faster and helps more.

Again, a lot of it is luck. Sometimes he'll miss you, sometimes he'll cast dumb spells (like Absorb-CHR), sometimes he's go completely ballistic and punch you to death easily. If the 'buff up and beat his ass' method isn't working for you, consider trying to tank him. There are better spells available now then when I beat him.

Good luck man
