Hey,

Anyone pick this up yet? If so, what's your name and server?

I'll be playing it tomorrow when the EU servers go live... So, yeh... They did that annoying thing with region servers so I doubt I'll ever be playing with any of you guys.

Edit: Request to move this to general gaming as it's also a PC game. Actually think the majority of it's players are PC users.

I'm holding off on it for a bit, I heard about some of the beta stuff that put me off of buying the game immediately. I'm going to wait and see if the problems that I heard about in the beta are fixed right after launch.

Raa - Virtue and Vice

So apparently I can access the US servers. I just made my character. I made a girl as I really tried, but couldn't make a dude look how I wanted. First time ever playing as a female in a MMO. Don't judge me!

Edit: Oh poop! I've just made her on New Frontier however. Are you guys playing the PS3 or PC version?

I'm personally done with MMOs but the preview for this looked interesting.
Jim Lee may or may not be an added bonus. Loved seeing his artwork though.

I posted it here because I'm on the PS3. I originally thought the servers were connected, but I read that PC players can't play with PS3 players, which is lame.

I'm on The Killing Joke. Hurlacher and Blastwave

Yeh, I was quite annoyed when I heard about this. I made a character last night on the Virtue and Vice server so if anyone has a league for me to join I'd be more than happy :)

I really wish they didn't separate the PS3 players from the PC ones. I did notice that I can pick if I want to be on a EU or NA server however.

villan or hero?

is this game fun honestly? I am debating picking it up.

I enjoy it, it's no FFXI but it's nice to see how creative people are with their characters, and it's awesome to fly around metropolis and do missions given to you by superman lol

I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. Thousands times better than the FFXIV launch (but then again Pong was more fun than playing FFXIV on launch day).

@Tok, You never said if you were a hero or villian!

oh hahah, hero is my main, i just made a villian but i probably won't play it that often

Sounds good. I'mma probably re-roll again anyway as I really want to get this hero right, just been testing everything out for the most part. Have you got a legion or something I might be able to join?

I was playing on a PvP server with a friend earlier tonight and we were having awesome fun. We were just doing quests when what appeared to be a full on hero vs villian fight broke out. The skype chat was hilarious I assure you.

I still believe if anyone is actually enjoying this game they would enjoy Champions Online, a game that's been out for quite some time already and is going free-to-play soon, better. The only thing DCUO has over it, is simply DC characters. Which honestly, when it comes to an MMO of this nature (Super Hero MMO's), doesn't really mean much of anything when you are creating your own character. I'm willing to bet CO has hundreds of more costume options and power set options. You really, really get to completely customize your character. The only thing you can't do in CO yet, is be a villian but with the way it's set up, that's not something you really need. Not to mention, the game style is comic bookish already.

I just can't see the logic in actually getting DCUO compared to CO in the genre, unless of course you're just a huuuuge DC fanboy (which, even most fans of DC that I know aren't even interested in playing this game).

DCUO is great. I am having a blast. Currently on the server Virtue and Vice, hero name, Ayira. I play a nature/staff healer. Leveling is fast, spec's are thought out, mission instances keep things interesting and the dialog is campy comic fun.

I heard the biggest fall of Champions Online was that fact that everyone could be/do anything. So basically you have tanking high DPS mages which makes the game boring. I haven't played, so I can't comment. It was just what I read in a comparison review of the games.

Well, yes, with CO there were ways to exploit and number crunch to maximize damage and be an overpowerful superhero. But if you were just playing for fun to make a hero like you want it, it was perfectly fun. I never played CO with the intent to make the most super badass invincible character allowable. I just played it for fun, make characters with themes and picked powers and talents that seemed like good, fun choices.

fun is what is most important :) when is it going free?
