Death Note dub to air 20th October on [adult swim]

Well I live in England and the manga has only just come out this month. I have always been interested to read/watch death note and have read a lot about it so I bought the first book. I was amazed at how good it was so ordered every single one of them through amazon (apart from number 13.....). I think the anime comes out in November for us Brits. I just can't wait for the films they looked amazing in a trailer if anyone knows a way of watching them then please tell me.

Although i generally prefer subs, in dubs all i really want is for characters voices to match there roles like they usually do in the subs, like the brawler-ish guy so sound like he's looking for a fight, the wierd guy to sound a bit funky, and the main character not to sound like the main character of every other fucking dub out there.

and for christs sakes if its a serious anime it would be nice if the voice actors at least sounded serious.
 
Just seen the 2nd episode of the dub! I am convinced! The dub is equally as great as the sub =D

Lucky... I've only seen episode 1 in subs and that was put together horribly on you tube lol
 
I've seen the released Eng. Dubbed episodes of DN and have to admit that they aren't too bad, even for youTube quality. But, having watched the subbed version i'm forever going to think that the voices don't sound quite right for the eng version... :S
Also i've got and read all the mangas (Bar 13) and they're b-e-a-utiful.
I'd recommend DN to anyone, but i usually get the "Weird Look" >_>;
 
Watched both the subbed and dubbed versions of Death Note recently and I must say that it's written brilliantly, whoever came up with such elaborate plots and the such is nothing short of a genius. The VA in the dubbed version wasn't bad at all, I got to see the first ten episodes that way and I thought they did a really good job matching appropriate voices and mannerisms to the characters, I have no complaints about either version whatsoever.
 
Its actually Vegeta's original voice. Brian Drummond stopped being Vegeta like midway through Namek.

"have you ever noticed that Yagami spelled backwards says "I'm a gay"? And isn't it kinda...odd...that he doesn't care at all for any of the women who make their advances on him? XP And he didn't seem to complain a whole lot when L hadcuffed him to himself."

Misa sounded almost perfect, I'm so glad they did her well.
 
ya, they have done a good job with voices for Death Note :P Rem too was pretty cool.
 
Yeah, I like that she actually sounded female in English. I had no idea she was supposed to be a female death god for the longest time until they referred to Rem as she, just because of the voice.
 
hehe, ya. That bothered the hell outta me with the Japanese version.
 
what episode is the english dub up to? I'm interested in seeing what they're going to be doing with the second intro

edit: something about light's voice didnt do it for me, the subbed version voice had a bit more...evil to it. ryuk's voice was fine, rem's was definitely better, misa's was good too.
