The Adult Swim network in the United States has confirmed on its online message boards that it will premiere the Death Note supernatural suspense anime series on October 20 at 12:00 a.m. The network had previously posted a television schedule with that timeslot's program title blacked out, but also broadly hinted that it would be Death Note. Adult Swim sub-licensed the series from Viz Media, which also releases the original manga series. The Viz Pictures live-action film affiliate will release the two live-action movies separately. I'm really looking forward to seeing how faithful the dub actors are to the original Japanese audio.

0_0 woooooo, awesome! At least if its on Adult Swin, they can leave all the vilolentish parts intact. I wonder how the dubb will be thoguh. In any case, thats pretty good news.

Will they have to edit / leave out the "What's Up People" opening? That song got me into Maximum the Hormone >.>
 
They'll def kill the opening. the "Hey hey fucker, human fucker" won't be good for Adult swim.
 
true its not 4kids, but like myrrh said, they have to get rid of the intro. I dont think the word fuck is allowed on cable still.
 
Meh, i liked Intro1 better anyways.
 
2 things to do with the 2nd intro:

1) Death Note is airing at midnight, so they may allow it.
2) The 2nd intro sounds more like "ah ningen ningen sucker" at times rather than "ah ningen ningen ****er" but thats just how it sounds to me.

Edit: Yes I am aware that is has that line "Hey hey ningen sucker" in it.

Anyway, I seriously hope they don't cut anything out of it, after all it's gonna air at midnight.

They did it with Bleach too i think. NA shows don't like to change Intro's very often.
 
Ok, after watching the dub on YouTube (thank you uploaders =D), I felt... meh.

I'll wait and see how the anime continues, hopefully the Voice actors will get more in tune with they're characters as the series progresses.

Other than that, pretty good, the script almost exactly identical to the Japanese in my honest opinion. And Ryuk was pretty cool.
 
All heart attacks are going to be editted into extreme heartburn or choking on pretzels.

Ryuuk was almost perfectly voiced, and Light sounded pretty good.

anyways, I like the main character :D he's a sociopath.. though the names of characters are lames.. japanese are getting lazy with names :P
 
I watched my fansubbed version a couple nights ago, and then watched it on adult swim on Saturday. The fansub and the dub are almost earily close. Light sounded like a stuck up high school student, Ryuk was insanely close to the original (including the raspy-laugh.) I was pleased.

Now.. the true test will be L.
