Dirge of Cerberus

I'm really enjoying this game. The story, at first, sounded contrived but they weaved it together with the mythos pretty well. I'm not a fan of the controls (I die a lot because of it) but all in all I'm glad I bought it.

Looking forward to the end right now :O

This game actually looks fun, especially the weapon customization (I love customization in any game, usually the most entertaining part for me). Definitely plan to pick up this game asap.

It's a review in the new issue of PSM, October issue(already?), says right on cover First NA Review(2.5months before game releases), 14 page review lol, they gave it a 9.5

I stand corrected. That's probably why I didn't know about it, I haven't received the october issue yet ;_;.

Can't wait till I do though, it'll give me something interesting to read on the can.
 
bah DoC was just labeled this way for fanboy crap. Im so glad i didnt buy it, I only even wanted to play just cause it was an FFgame, but they should stick to traditional rpg's or at least work on making the cameras better and take away the noobie auto target crap.
On the note of FF12, its gonna rock. it feels like an offline FFXI in the way of battle, The Cs' are awesome. The story, what ive followed is pretty cool. The massive war beginning and all.
i only played like 10 hours into it cause i got tired of referncing the translation guide all the time, Ill wait till its in english to finish the game.
But i think its gonna be a great addition to the series. Its certainly got a different feel to it.
and the MP moves pwn!
 
o.O, a little harsh of a review there Chasym, especially if you didn't buy/play the game yet.

Or have you played the game, just not bought it?

I kind of liked DoC, but that's just me <.<;

And is it just me, or does Lucrecia look a lot like Aeris? she even have the same voice Aeris had in AC xD

i download games and try em out, if i dont like em i dont buy em. I have a soft modded ps2 thanks to my HDD and a memory card exploit.
If i like them, i go out and buy them.
I didny say i hated the game, i just think it woulda been better off as its own title, Not FFVII just so fan kids can buy it...its not a great shooter and i didnt really feel for it. The lock on feature made me feel like they couldnt get the idea of a shooter down so they give you kiddie controls and let the game aim for you....it could have been done way better.
the best thing this games got going for it.

A semi fair story.

Well I just started playing...and the story got me wondering about something...

I thought FF7 AC took place in a rebuilt Midgar? But this game said midgar has been ruins since Meteorfall...I'm confused:wacko:

Midgar has been in ruins, and FFVII AC was in a ruined midgar with parts that were still suitable for living :P mostly parts that were once slums since they were under the big plate and only the top plate really got destroyed by meteor (at least, I think so)

The rebuilt sections of Midgar are called "Edge" probably being the edge of midgar. Second level you end up in the square that Bahamut blew up mostly rebuilt, obviously.)

Also in Advent children, during the Bahaumut fight, Cid does jump and stabs him in the face. and yells Jump a few times.


As for DoC.. ( still playing it with Kai ) At first it seemed like some dudes fanfic, but I am glad to see it shaping up. I'm wondering if it will play better if a USB keyboard is used. we haven't tried it yet but it says you can.

As for the camera angle, it is much like XI, cept for the slow turning.

If anything, So far I am enjoying it for the newly rendered FF7 backgrounds. even with the originals being as amazing as they are, it is still nice.
 
Oh yeah, Edge...I havent gotten to the end of the 2nd stage yet >.> Playing slowly

I've not played much DoC nor do I own it yet XD sooo :P
 
Well, apparently all weapons and materias you gather will be transfered over to the Extra Missions, just tried them today... so I guess IF and only IF Ultima Weapon is better then a fully upgraded Cerberus with fully upgraded bottles, then it could be usefull.
 
I'm on chapter 5 and have no idea how I'm gonna be able to lvl up enough or get enough money to upgrade a lot of stuff -_- need a money trick lol
 
I beat the game last night. Let me just say my jaw dropped. The game has a fairly decent twist at the end, and I really liked the more in-depth into Vincent's past & the people that helped shaped him.

I also got all the G-Reports, so special ending HOOOO. That was cool. ;3

But gameplay wise... I think Nomura played a bit too much Metal Gear Solid, or Devil May Cry. XD

Also! Shot games! Take a shot everytime Vincent points his gun at the camera. Or take a shot every time someone says the line: "Vincent Valentine"
