The problem with MGS2 can be summed up in one word: Raiden. The story didn't help much either.

yea, that's the only problem with MGS2^^; had they actually allowed snake thru the whole game, I think it would've been a lot better...

I'm sorry but if the president has to grab your crotch and feel you up to find out whether you're male or female, please please go kill yourself now, and spare us...

But I'll go with option #2. Sam Fisher > Solid Snake and his emo life partner, Otacon. At least in the Otacon/Snake pairing you can tell who's the butch and who's the bitch.

Oh please... Snake puts up a good front, but as soon as they're behind closed doors it's off with the guns and up with the heels.

Raiden didn't bother me too much (he's so pretty!), but the storyline was pretty comprehensible in places. I'm sure if I was infiltrating a terrorist stronghold the last thing I'd need is my girlfriend nattering away asking me if I remembered what special day it was. Raiden should've blown himself up instead of defusing all those bombs just to get away from her.

"Honey, little busy here, okay?"

I still haven't played MGS3. I started holding out when I heard they were releasing a special edition with changes to the cameras and stuff. I'll get there eventually. I'm still not sold on the the card-battle hilarity of MGS Ac!d.

<3 Metal Gear since back in the day, with the is-that-Michael-Biehn artwork. MGS3 was pretty great, and it actually got my girl more interested in games than anything else. It was actually her idea to pre-order the special edition of Subsistence.

Hal, if you preorder, you can get a special bonus disc that's got MG1 and MG2 emulated. The 'special edition' package contains a disc with the 'secret theater' stuff that was posted on Konami.jp a while back. Brilliant stuff.

MGS games are the only games I play outside of WoW and FFXI. I'm not a big gamer but I love the MGS games. T

he 2nd one was my favorite story-wise. I love it when your near the end and the general dude tells you to put down the controller and stop playing.

I wish they could hold my interest after I beat them but they never do. I get bored of games fast except for MMO's. Probably because they are unbeatable.

The Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake old MSX games are on the actual game disc of MGS3: Subsistence itself, the preorder bonus is a Metal Gear Saga volume 1 DVD, Subsistence also has an online mode among various other extras, plus there's also a limited edition of it coming out as well. * Team Death Match Players are divided into teams to play a VS. game in a set time limit. The team with the most remaining life tickets will be declared the winner.

* Capture Mission Players are divided into teams to capture a frog piggy bank and deliver it back to their base. Players will be able to re-spawn as long as there are life tickets remaining.

* Cargo Rescue Teams will be divided into 2 with one side being the defender of ‘cargo piggy bank’ while the other team will try to destroy it. But the preorder bonus is Metal Gear Saga vol 1 dvd, which has Kojima talking about MGS games for 30min? or so

I liked MGS and MGS2, got 3 but still haven't really played it. Acid really sucked...

Simple fact: Metal Gear Solid on the PS1 is the single greatest game. Don't even need to say ever, it's that good.
I have been a huge fan of the series ever since I played the MGS demo that came with my PS1, and I have since gone on to aquire every single Metal Gear game ever released in the United States, including the disavowed Metal Gear 2: Snake's Revenge. I could probably write papers on the MG story lines.

Big fan of all things Metal Gear, I suggest going back and playing the NES copies if you can get your hands on em. However be warned.. if you think the MGS series is hard by any means.. you will end your own suffering before you finish any of those.
