DRK 6-hit setup

If you aren't gonna use food on colibs then dont fucking merit...

Or do what smart people do and don't waste time meriting on lolbirds in the first place...

I'll stick to the mamools whenever possible thanks.

Bolded the key words there.

Unfortunately its not always possible. So you have to be prepared for back up if you need to xp on birds.

Exactly why I used those specific words.... It was no accident I put them there. Sometimes you don't have a choice.

And for the record the only reason I made that comment replying to Icewolf about the OP, to whom it was directed, was that the OP indicated his food of preference was sushi and while popping Meat Kabobs is no big deal. Going through 2 stacks of sole sushi an hour over the course of a 3-4 hour merit pt is not exactly chump change for most people.

I never said I wouldn't use food at a colibri camp, I only meant to imply that if sushi is his food of choice then I hope he's got a few bucks in his pocket.

Ya but I was saying even if his choice is sushi, he can still use meat on colibri.

Anyways, on topic, now theres a great sword that can 6 hit easily too.

even then its only 40-60k max for the party.. that's not much gil at all

plastron? sushi? seriously?

Yeah i dont know what thats about, its not that hard to make ajustments to wear a plastron and use meat at the same time.

And I mean come on they gave drk abs-acc and we had abs-dex, acc should be no problem by now at this point.

Also if you dont have capped combat merits your not ready for a plastron in the first place.

Edit: oh yeah and I havent played since they added abs-acc but come on drk's use your damn spells thats why you have them.

Plastron is stupid, period. Especially if you're using meat. Also, a casting drk is just losing damage.

Besides Absorb TP! (and Absorb Acc on thfs)

How reliable is absorb-TP in a merit? If I could get an average of quite a few casts that'd be cool.

Its awesome. I'd say I average around 50 tp. But you have to watch out on the timing too.

Casting isnt dumb, and if your not casting your not doin your job. Its all about casting at the right time, like before a mob even gets to camp or when a mob is at 1% and there is another one waiting at camp.

Necro go lv drk foo dont necro a drk thread =p

And as for average on abs-tp with 335+ drk magic skill I always got 55-70+ tp back. You just gotta know how much tp the dd's in the pt are pushin on the mob. And also watch how much tp a mob gets like your watch for something important to stun like cerb.

PS. plastron isnt dumb.

Meh nvm..

40-60k isn't a lot alone; however, it is when compared to what you spend on mithkabobs. At max, you spend about 10k for 2-3hr party, so you're litterally spending 6x as much. Plus, I hate when people eat different foods in merits, it messes with BRD songs and one person gets madrigal while eatting sushi or one person gets minuet when they really need madrigal. Since kabobs really are the standard, I'd stick with that.

If there isn't a mob at camp to begin with, your BRD sucks. A DRK casting anything besides absorb-tp in a merit is pretty silly.

PS. losing 16.5 acc for a couple points of str/att isn't dumb? ok.

I agree with necrosis. I would NEVER use Plastron in exp/merits, unless I was using sushi, which I would never do. I do however think Plastron is a situational piece that can be used for other situations.

In EXP/merits, I only use absorb TP. Other situations of course call for different things. But if we are talking about EXP/Merits, I think Necro is right on the money.

I always used Stun like Provoke. If there were adds or a lullabied target, I'd use Bind/Sleep if Stun wasn't ready. It may "waste time for damage opportunity," however, I also made it possible for other DD to damage while I tanked.

I believe Absorb-TP doesn't rely too heavily on accuracy/skill with exp mobs from my experience. Timing is everything.

Uhh ya, stun is pretty essential ;P

To you it might seem dumb but in theory if abs-acc is anything like the other abs spells you should be able to get 20-21acc. So I see no loss, and there is also abs-dex if your acc fails even more.

As for plastron its not just for a "couple of points of str/att" drk isnt an auto att job like war or mnk it also has a magic side thus the need for full time refesh, you dont wanna be full timeing parade gorget.

With a rdm in the pt I have plastron, prade gorget (when i'm not fighting), and santion refresh(not tring to save money on food duration)+ the spell Refresh = 6mp/tick.

W/O that I see many drks who cant even keep up with casting spell thus in the end lowing their over all dmg.
And w/o even a drk magic set up dont expect to even see 90-110+ mp aspirs as well.

what they're saying is the more you cast, the less you swing. If you need 6mp/tick for merit pt you're casting wayyyy too much, also you CAN aspir birds and wyvs >.>

edit: dump plastron and buy a pcc.
