Dumb people in Campaign Battle

wait until I update my gallery...

you should be, I got you doing a table dance=D

So, how many other whms go to Campaign battles and actually help other people along with their party/partner? Only me? Oh, that's sad to hear. ;_;

Yes, I know this can't be true. Not everyone on Questz can be a complete douche bag.

I try to help others when I can especially if one is tanking. People in my party get priority though. I do usually try to raise people if I have mp.

Too many campaigns I spent lying face down whilst mages meleed and didn't raise/cure me. I usually just campaign where there are loads of NPC's now.

Thats the problem with campaign battles. I usually go pld/whm now and use Joyeuse. Thus if I die I have rr up and still do decent damage with the Joyeuse. I really wish the mages would focus on raising and healing tanks. There are a good number that do. But most will melee for more xp. I rather not go as whm to campaign because the xp difference is too great if I don't melee.

Just for the record, I have never gone into Campaign Battles as a mage to skill up.

I have always gone in a pt situation and still helped with others outside my pt where/when I could. As well, when I go solo, my focus is random healing buffing etc.

I just dun like others dictating how ppl should spend their time on their jobs.

It's a trade off. Mages stop curing when tanks stop tanking. Tanks stop tanking when mages stop curing.
If we could find a happy median between people who don't know eachother, we would. But since we can't, I'd rather stick to who's in my party than get hate from some random tank who's too scared to hit their provoke macro.

Go as rdm/whm and tank, it's a lot of fun.

I usually solo and tank limitedly very well just using full buffs and full debuffs on the mob and use blink as ghetto clones, works like a charm.

I haven't really seen a lot of bad whms out there most or anyone that can raise does usually including myself, it's fun though walking and start fighting then step over one body then another...and you see a dogpile of dead people from a bad pull.

On a side note I've been using my smn for exp in campaign and it's sweet only wish I had elemental siphon=/ but I get 500-900ish in a decent fight and with only 7,600 each level it's not so bad.

I fully agree with this. If I get hate because no one wants to voke off of me while I'm curing them and it ends up getting my party killed because the mob comes and aoes me then I'm less likely to cure (or to even be able to cure) said person again.

yeah catch 22, it's bullshit because that arguement will never end.

I solo campaign battles mostly its just a matter of being careful where you go and looking after yourself better. I also like whm sub on my Pld I get not just reraise but stoneskin and Blink and Erase these all help me in the battle.

I cant hit my provoke macro, I dont sub war, I have no problem flashing mobs and trying to attain hate but those campaign mobs are flaky with where they feel like going.

What level Smn? I'd love to try that out sometime but mine's a mere 37 atm.

Happy campaigning everyone, see you on the battlefield. :)

When I go to campaign, I am pld/dnc. First thing I do is head to Meriphitaud Mtns. or West Saruta for my first battle. I get my tags, and then talk to the NPC again and get one of those nifty 30 AN temp items called a scroll of instant reraise. 30 AN is a drop in the bucket compared to what i'm going to get from the battles I can do while it's up. When that wears or is used up I go grab another.

As pld/dnc there aren't too many mobs that are going to kill me except for the NM's or if there is a bad link. I may be just lucky but most of the time when i'm in campaign, and "actually tanking", i get spammed with cures. Once in Meriph. Mtns. I stood toe to toe with Moo Ouzi the Swiftblade for the entire fight(only myself and the blue mage that pulled it) because of 3 or 4 selfless mages that cure bombed me. All of the mages that cured me died at least 3 times each from Mijin Gakure.

At any rate, learn how to take care of yourself and when it's really needed there might be someone there to back you up. If not, tough shit, there's no exp loss and you still get your exp/an even if you are dead at the end of the battle.

Peace,
Shmed

48 smn, but I really wouldn't recommend trying it at lower levels

your exp is pretty much dependent on how much mp you have and how well you use it since bps are never cheap, also you have to toss in some side cures cure 3 is decent but not enough so don't expect cure 2 to cut it. Then you have to consider what buffs to give pending circumstance, if it's npcs whether to blink them or give them ss, or if pcs are taking damage you have to cut the npcs out and cure them with spring water.

It's fun but remember that you can't get smn skill ups so if you plan on taking it all the way you'll need some sort of regular activity to keep it up since SE has and probrably will make more smn skill reliant abilities and commands in the future.

edit: and considering that only a few abilities are available in comparison to higher levels you may find your buffs wearing thin and of course it also depends on what avatars you have, I'm wishing I had diabolos right about now.

Of course it's always fun to watch 16npcs/pcs get hit with hastega, stoneskin, blink, cures, etc.

oh and another edit

the above was not even considering offensive bps soley buffs

That does sound fun, but maybe I'll try partying a bit before dareing Campaign, then again theres always Beseiged I can get skills up there too. Thanks for the info. :)
