Dynamis Antics

Dynamis San d'Oria jacked this evening. Apparently it's not just xarca :/

Blaackmage (yes, 2 a's at the beginning), Chayaa, Gattzu, Gonavan, Karaia, Kored, Lostcauseoni, Megaboss, Naverous, Nedjobean, Nikui, Spectezey, Tsunderecat, Vamprey

And yes, if you knowingly associate with people who commit acts of douchbaggery, then you, by extension, are also a douchebag.

what's the saying? "Birds of a feather flock to vagina" or some such. I agree, if you run with these shells whom do these things, you are the douche bags.

skimmed the last few pages but didnt see anything

has this happened to any other ls recently? as in the past month or two?

My guess since sunday doesnt have as many(or used to lol) shells that run its used as the day of choice? in any case the names were different from the ones in the recent xarc snipe

Dear god... OK, seriously, this is getting nuts.

I've said this countless times... The QCDN dynamis schedule system is awesome. It's a really nice system to have for those shells that choose to use it.

But there are always going to be shells that don't care to use it, and have no interest in going the extra mile to play fair. It's a game, that happens. And I don't want to see anyone blaming the Midgard merge, because I know you had shells that ignored it on your server before the merge too. You just have twice as many shells now, and therefore twice as many shells that will ignore it.

I also appreciate making it public knowledge which shells refuse to use the system. It's good to know if you are going to have competition for a zone from a rogue shell. But when I say "refuse", I mean "their leaders actively told someone that they don't intend to use it." Since I've been on this server, I've heard almost as many stories about an uninformed new or merged Dyna shell getting BITCHED THE FUCK OUT by some asstard screaming about them not using the scheduling system as I have stories about Dyna shells that actively said they think it's stupid and will refuse to use it. And in my opinion, these QCDN vigilantes that run up to a shell and start cursing them out for not using the system before bothering to find out if they shell is even AWARE of the damn system are JUST AS BAD as the shells that blatantly and willing fly against it.

If you people expect other shells to have some common courtesy, you need to start with having some yourself. Assuming that everyone on the server that has even been to a dynamis run knows about QCDN's scheduling system is very presumptuous and egotistical. If, after informing someone of this site and the scheduling system, and getting mocked out by them for it, you want to post their names, and their linkshell names, that's fine. Go for it, that's what the flameboard is for. But as I've said, rattling off the names of every player you've seen in a zone without having ANY idea of whether or not they were even aware that they were doing something that some people might find un-cool, is really douchebagish. I've now seen a couple names of people called out in this thread that I know are NOT the type that would knowingly be jerks to others, yet they have been tagged along with the jerks because they happened to be in the same zone at the same time.

And as for the rogue shells you find, what would actually be more useful than rattling off random names of players, is actually listing the LINKSHELL name that is doing the jacking, which other than once, hasn't been done.

Actually, if memory serves correctly, we didn't have a problem with the Dynamis Scheduling until world transfers opened up. before that it was a pretty big deal any time it happened. course I could be wrong about that it was a long time ago after all. I just seem to remember a more peaceful time on Quetz before all the fucking interlopers.

You make it sound like we, Midgardsormrians, had a choice to come to Quetz. ; ;

Wrong. World transfers opened up way before the Trail of Tears.

I just seem to remember a more peaceful time on Quetz before all the fucking interlopers.

First, I remember reading posts on here when I first joined where people were talking about some of your native JP shells and others that ignored the scheduling system, long before the merge actually happened.

Second:
Main Entry: interloper
Function: noun
a : an illegal or unlicensed trader
b : one that intrudes in a place or sphere of activity

Seriously, go fuck yourself and the horse you rode in on. I'm not getting into this argument again. I'm really starting to wish that SE merged the servers the other way, putting the Quetz people on Midgard. You may not like our way of thinking, but I can guaran-fucking-tee that you wouldn't have caught nearly the same level of shit that we have merging in with you. It's this type of attitude and the afore-mentioned "holier-than-thou" shit some of you have pulled that allow the more rebellious Midgard shells to morally justify telling you to take your scheduling system and shove it.

I'm just going to assume that people like you are the minority on this server, as most everyone I've met on Quetz since the merge has been really cool and welcoming.

Wrong. World transfers opened up way before the Trail of Tears.

Yes, because trying to get all the members of all your linkshells and all your other friends to willing pay $25 to server transfer to some other server before the merge took place was really a viable option.

I'm just going to assume you were joking. Ha ha.

It is fairly evident that you misunderstand the context and tone of my post, Divinius.

World/Server transfers being "opened up" before the server merges, which I've affectionately dubbed the "Trail of Tears" meant that for the large part, pieces of shit were hopping servers as fast as they could provide SE with the $25 so they could continue to dick honest people out of e-items...which clearly have greater value to aforementioned pieces-of-shit than they do to the honest people who are playing FFXI without needing to resort to underhanded maneuvering such as .... dumping $25 every 90 days to hop servers.

Those would be the interlopers we're talking about. By definition, in fact,

b : one that intrudes in a place or sphere of activity

So I think GBB doesn't necessarily need to involve himself with bestiality.

Ok, fine, I suppose I did misinterpret your post, as I know there are lots of people that willingly pay to transfer all over the place because they are jerks trying to screw people or run from their reputations.

But GBB was quite clearly referring to the vast majority of players that were dumped on Quetz against their will when SE decided to move the entirety of Midgard to Quetz. To say that we were "intruding" implies a conscious decision on our part to do so. That did not exist.

actually people like me are the majority, others just seems to care what others think and won't say it, where as people like you don't care what people think of them. I'm so sick of the fucking "It's a game" mentality. It's not just a fucking game, it's a community. One of which those of you who believe "It's just a game" seem to enjoy fucking up royally. If you want to "Just play a game" go play something single player where you actions don't have consequences, and if you refuse to do that don't be surprised when people from this server, seek to make your lives a living hell.

So I think GBB doesn't necessarily need to involve himself with bestiality.

but what if I want to? D=

I agree with that, and at least on my part, and I'm sure on the part of 99.9% of Quetz, we wouldn't consider you in such derogatory terms. I'm still not convinced that was GBB's intention either, and that he was probably ranting about the same group I was.

Indeed. Whole shells were transferring to Quetz and basically making a hash of things on an intermittent basis, long before the server merger ever happened.

Whole shells move all the time, I don't know what rock you were hiding under on Midgardsormr. Here on Quetz we had issues with HNMs shells, heavily investing in botting software, coming in, and basically being complete douchebags (you have to find a new word, by the way, this one is mine) in literally every capacity that they could. Ignoring any form of scheduling, making regular MPK attempts, all that jazz.

Those shells were the majority of the reason why people on Quetz were extremely nervous about the server merger, in fact. Pretty much every other experience with people transferring in in full linkshells had been extremely negative.

I am talking about anyone on this server who chooses consciously or unconsciously to disregard the social norms this sever put in place a long time ago. I don't care why your here, but you are here now in a community that was always very close even if it had it's problems.

You might want to reword your original post then GBB, because I took it as Divinius did as well.

As per the majority/minority example alot of people don't really care about the merger. GBB that attitude is actually the minority of the server now that it has occured. There aren't people that are hesitant to party w/ Midgard people..... HOWEVER, I do remember seeing exp flags up with seacoms "Will only party with midgard server transfers... Will not party w/ Quetz people"

I agree that I don't like the "it's just a game" mentality, but that doesn't change the fact that it IS a game, and some people aren't going to care about the community. I'm not justifying it, I'm just saying it's the way it is. You can choose to accept it and work around it, or you can choose to be a gigantic douchebag in retaliation and hence, come out no better than the people you are complaining about.

Now, before you get on your high-horse and start calling me out personally, let me tell you a little more about myself...

I've never joined an HNM shell because I don't like how they run. I don't like how they all use bots, and I don't like how they all are forced to compete and treat each other like shit due to SE's stupid HNM system.

I've always given people I meet the benefit of the doubt, and assume everyone is inherently good and ethical until they prove otherwise.

If I found myself in a linkshell that was being unfair or unethical to the rest of the community, I would most certainly leave that linkshell. Though given the mechanics of the game, I can't outright fault others that wouldn't be willing to do that.

When I first came on these boards I was a Dynamis leader, and welcomed with open arms the idea of a scheduling system and sincerely hoped that most all other Midgard shells would see it as the great thing that it is.

Since then though, I've seen several instances of ignorant people like you that assume that because of the way SE chose to merge the servers, you have some "right" to have everyone from Midgard play by your rules. Let's get one thing straight: That attitude is horse-shit. Yes, your scheduling system is awesome, and yes, it would be wonderful if everyone WOULD use it. But as it stands now, half of the people on this server have never used one, never needed one, and never had any desire to try to create one. The fact that as many Midgard shells have started using it as they have is a tribute to the community and a sign that QCDN is a great place to reach out to that community. But people like you are the ones that actually threaten that community by unfairly calling out people that "don't play by the rules", when in fact, for half of the server, they are not rules at all.

If the servers had been merged the other way, your scheduling system would have died with your server. And that actually would have been a shame. So thank your lucky stars that we got merged the way we did, and that a majority of the Midgard shells did choose to adopt your system, and stop trying to demand everyone play fair without even taking the time to consider why they might not.

Above post directed at GBB... I somehow blew away the quote... -_-

HOWEVER, I do remember seeing exp flags up with seacoms "Will only party with midgard server transfers... Will not party w/ Quetz people"

Yeah, I heard about that. Not much I can say other than this only proves that Midgard certainly had our share of asshats too. :)

Godwin'd on the 30th post. Not quite a record for QCDN, but it's up there.

Milgram's experiment as an exercize to understand the subsuming of personal morality to to the orders of an authority may have originally been meant to ascertain reason behind the madness of the holocaust, but it has long since been repeated and expanded. I hardly think you can call Godwin or Ad Hitlerum because someone who didn't read the reference I was making - jumped straight into YOU CANT COMPARE DYNAMIS TO THE HOLOCAUST!!!!1!!one mode.
