I really wish people on both sides of this merge drama would come to realize that when it came to merges we were one of the luckier ones and it could of been a hell of a lot worse. This server has been the joke of the FFIX community for a long time and yet, everyone wonders why the midgar people hold such animosity towards being forced to come here.

I've been on Quetz since 2003 and don't know what you mean about it being the joke of the FFXI community. Source? And I think with pot shots like that, it's not wonder why there is merger drama. I'm a strong supporter for the "get over it, a server is a server" but looking at this comment made me wonder what the heck are you talking about?

As if anything else needed to be said about Thatjusthapponed this is what they broke off from.

With that out of the way

I should also note that I love that every time the subject of dynamis and limbus jacking comes up everyone cries for SE to instance them yet, when the subject of botting HNMs is brought up there is no talk of the fact that HNMs are a even more flawed system then dynamis ever was. The double standard is quite amazing.
Animosity towards a group of people(the server natives) that had nothing to to do with said merger is pointless.

The fix to the HNM system was suggested years ago, when the zeni NM system was introduced.

I'm with ya on this one, Zalt. Granted people from Mid are frustrated at name changes, broken linkshells, and lost AH items...but that doesn't give you a free ticket to be shitty to the Quetz natives. We're not the ones who merged the servers, why hate on us? A lot of us welcomed the new arrivals with open arms. SEE: "A lot" not "all", since I know someones gonna pick apart my wording.

Yah, I agree Miru.

Other than the to-be-expected growing pains like more people trying to crowd into the same, uninstanced dynamis zones and such, I've been overjoyed to see new folks who aren't yet acquainted with my awesomeness. Just think . . . a whole server's worth of folks who ain't heard all my corny jokes and "How I soloed X and lived to tell about it" stories! :D

/nods to Zalt, Real, and Miru

I think that's what Div was trying to say, and that's what I'm trying to say as well. Not all midgardians are rude and I was welcomed when I finally was able to log in after that maint. Just because we were dumped here is no excuse for either side to be mean without cause.

I just think at this point there's a lot of shells (Howitzer is not lumped in this; we do use calendar) who are not used to calendar, have very stubborn leads who want to bury their heads in the sand about it and keep choosing their zones last second and without consulting anything, and are prolly expecting people to /random. Also quite a few of them on Midgard (Not all though) used to be back stabbing zone stealers who would not /random for the zone (which was the polite thing to do on midgard).

I think Div would share my sentiment; let's see if we can work this out in a civil fashion if possible. It may not be possible if it was a "rude" midgard shell though.

Palides seems to have just proven that Eli was right in her statement that it wasn't a midgar shell.

Palides, you obviously don't participate in the forum scheduling of dynamis, are aware of it, and have been a long time Quetz member. You're only defense is a lame and very overused internet lingo of "QQ"? You're pretty much just proving yourself to be a moron by even commenting on this flame if you don't have a valid argument.

U mad?

Ad hominems will add nothing to whatever you are trying to say.

All of the arguments have been said relentlessly since Dynamis was created years ago, and they've been repeated in this thread. I trust you can go back a few pages and read them.

Talk to the developers.

I'm appealing to whats right in treating fellow players, not personal bias. Learn to use big words correctly or read. I'm sure if it happened to you, you'd be upset too. The developers may have not of implemented something to avoid scheduled shell events from not happening, but the community in an attempt to please everyone did. You are just one of the few that think you're more important than everyone else.

Nm's stolen, zones stolen, mpk'd, screwed with while kiting Kirin; Yes, it has happened to me. No, I've never made a flame about any of those things. I simply learned to deal with it. Everything about this game is unfortunate and time consuming; you would think that you and others would have figured this out after 8 years instead of complaining every 3 days about someone 'taking' and open zone, and learn to deal with it too.

Even before merges there were shells that didn't use QCDN's scheduling system, the majority of the server doesn't post here as well.

Despite your [and others] objections the fact remains that there, and never will be a way to reserve the zone for your chosen/preferrable time slot.

@Palides: Can you blist someone on QCDN? It was such a good idea in FFXI.

@Elizara, Zalt, Real, Miru, et al: I hope I didn't cause any confusion, I'm not only posting former Midgar peoples' names. Overall I think the server merger was a great idea, and while I do think SE kinda shafted you guys as far as LS names, character names and stuff goes, I think overall the increased population has been great for the game.

I'm also not posting names from shells that were at least polite to us. The first few months we had many zones "taken", which was expected, but people were at least civil about it. By this point, most of them have started using the schedule, or at least aren't deliberately gathering at a zone they know would be entered in less than an hour. The names I'm posting are from shells whose leaders basically tell us to fuck off, whether they are from Quetzy or Midgard or a mixture of both.

Again, I'm posting names. I can start putting asterisks by party leaders if it would help. Maybe people reading this thread don't want to blacklist everyone, but think it would be more productive to get ahold of the shell's leaders and try to convince them. That would be great in my opinion. I'm still going to post all the names though, because A) by this point, you should know, and you are guilty by association, and B) you can't tell from a /sea who a shell's leadership is.

Not a rude word was said by any member of our shell. Members of your shell cursed at us in fact.

Not sure why it keeps repeating my post lmao

Thank you. That puts this in a slightly different light. If they are cussing you out, then they may deserve some slaps. A zone is not worth that, and they ought to realize that.

"So lets just do what we want, think only of ourselves, and laugh at everyone else that isn't as self serving as we are."

Thank you for accurately portraying the mindset that drove the board members to create the scheduling forum n the first place. No there is not a way to reserve a dynamis zone in the time slot you wish. I'm quite sure the originators were awear of that when they made the forum. But instead of using it as an excuse to behave like a spoiled brat and just take what you wish as you wish, their idea provides a way for EVERYONE to enjoy dynamis without stepping on the toes of the thousands of others that play the same game you do.

but yeah, there is no reason what-so-ever to use a system that levels the playing field for everyone, serves as a large drama deterrent(quoted company excluded of course), and still allows people to do what they want. is there naaaaaaah. /sarcasm

There will always be those who use anonymity as an excuse to act like an asshole.

The amusing thing is that those people typically lack to intestinal fortitude to act that way when there is the potential for real consequences.
