Einherjar

Think one of the hardest parts is being prepared for every situation lol. We weren't ready for the sleepga chances, I tried my best to run out of range and curaga my pt after they start casting but with 15 around it wasn't doable. Poison pots would of really helped us out alot. According to some of our members while we were half wiped, kiting works very well with the elementals, as 1 nin was able to kite about half of them for a good while, we just couldn't deal with leftovers as most our mages were dead at that point so sleepga ran rampant.

We ran with 20 people, it seems doable with about as many as we went, just needed a clearer strategy. We saw the bird too, but were wiped and couldn't fight it, last 5mins we tried to zerg boss, but elementals eventually got to us again.

The boss we tried to Zerg above was the buffalo type. I unloaded my full MP pool, used Manafont, was doing 650-700ish/TierIVnuke and up to 800 with AMII (total damage estimate 7,000+ in 2 minutes), never took hate (this was really whacko, it seemed the boss was following someone who had hate with the elementals and wasnt touching me), and we only got it to 96%. After the elementals killed whoever and I finally did get hate, I was able to kite for a long time as a normal speed blm. The buffalo NM was only hitting for about 50-60 damage and was relatively easy to run from [Note: I wear Sorcerer's earring when I am running away from anything, so damage could have been 90-100 to a non prepared blm, I also had forgot my earth staff which goes in my Run away macro, I could have taken another 20% less there :(]

Pretty much this boss is easily kiteable... but we dropped 50kdmg on this thing and only got it down 4% so obviously defeating the elementals was a must in order to weaken his HP pool. He did not Regen either :)

Other groups have reported defeating their bosses without defeating the mobs and getting the armory crate. All I can say is I wanna see pictures, I believe its possible, but not for some average group.

Okay so... there seems to be some speculation that killing the "random mob" that spawns during the run may help to weaken the boss. When we were laying face-down from Chigger rape, we saw a tiger pop and traipse around for a few mins, but once we got raised up and looked for it, it was gone... I'm thinkin this may help to weaken the boss, because.. I hit the manticore with an 800+ thunder IV, and it did <1% hp. =/

Edit: So I guess at least one group got a temp. items chest from the random mob.. theirs was a bird, I think.

If the crate is droping without the killing the little mobs, its a glitch and should be fixed, it clearly states that all enimy must be killed. I'm thinking thay killed that random mob and thay got the chest with hi-pots and whatnot.

I was spaming erase on silf and fran. lol

This looks like alot of fun.

Hmm...that would be hard to get a setup for who sleeps what...but I suppose if you get a smaller amount of mobs (the Jnun for example, seem to come in a group of 6 or so) you could try that...COR could also sleep shot some of them.

anything charmable in there? looks like one pull was all bats...

this looks like a job for those motherflockers...

The tiger and bird etc. that randomly pop drops a temp item chest, and supposedly weakens the other mobs. Once defeated, it gives a message that the monsters lurking in the shadows grow calmer.

Yeah...that's my theory- That it weakens the other mobs...It seems the oddball mob pops around 3-4 mins after someone enters the room. I believe either SE did this on purpose for time for buffing and resting MP before people start fighting, or to trick us into finding out what it does for ourselves. :\

I've been trying to come up with a good setup to take on Einherjar...From all the info I gathered, I think that 6 seperate parties, none in an alliance, each with at least one bard sleeper/buffer and one whm or rdm healer/debuffer and various DD and BLM would be the best idea.

IF it's true the oddball spawns after a certain time, and not after the mobs are engaged, or some other prerequisite, the best option would be waiting until it spawns and killing it.

Then the party would engage the mobs. One person would be the initial puller, bringing all the mobs of one type toward the group, then, each party would pick a mob and start whacking away while each brd spams Lullaby. It would be even be fine for more than one party to attack one mob in this case...After the mobs are dead, the boss can be engaged and killed.

Of course, this is if the mobs are weakened by killing the oddball, and the boss is weakened by killing the mobs...

By letting each party function independently, it would be easier to keep all the mobs at bay. Then of course gathering together at the end to take down the boss.

what if it pop after killing X number of mob .. we dont have time to wait for the nm to pop

It was an IF...

But if it does pop after killing a certain amount of mobs or another prerequisite, designating one party the oddball killer while the other 5 take care of the mobs would be perfectly fine.

We probably won't know any more details until Friday when the people that did it the first day get their second run in.

in another news ....

E LEGS. King Behemoth drop in eniherjar

pic is 3 - 4 post down

Yeah, there's also been a confirmed drop of P abj. Hands http://www.notedls.com/keftenk/wing1.jpg

There's also someone who claimed to have a Dryadic Abj Feet, as well as rumors of m head, n hands, and the new mage feet.

Sadly, these new abjurations are gonna be very, very expensive, at least until we find a good strategy for Einherjar...It takes 10 successful runs worth of ichor just to get an item needed to craft a new cursed piece...Not to mention some of them require some expensive materials.

I'm still gonna try to go at least for the shadow body, it's a great piece...and I'm holding my breath for the Valhalla pieces, though it's rumored they'll drop of Odin in the last room which hasn't been released quite yet (which you'll only be able to do once every 30 days T_T)

I think there is a good chance the amount of ichor obtained goes up as you go through or potentially a big bonus for beating the final room. If not the new cursed gear will be incredibly difficult to craft and will be extremely rare.

The good news though is some land god Adjs have dropped and their cursed gear is already in good supply.

All mobs must be killed to for chest to pop. Too easy if it only took killing the boss.

But if you kill boss first, its safer to train mobs around.

bad part about having those new abjs drop right away.... at 500 points a run, it takes 10 runs to get 5k to get the item youneed to craft the cursed gear! (I'm pritty shur its the items you get from the NPC).

You can have the ingredients of this recipe by talking to the guys in CC guild. It uses Nethercant Chain, which is obtained from the NPC in Nashmau.

Well if it's 500 ichor per person, and you see a new abj once every few runs, and each new abj takes 1 AH sellable 5,000 ichor item to uncurse, being able to have the new cursed gear crafted isn't going to be that big of a deal.

At work atm, so I can't look it up, but I'm somewhat sure SE said you didn't have to beat
every wing again to get access to the last room once you had already beaten them once?

Can someone post that part of the update details please?

1. Key Items
Upon clearing a chamber, all players will receive a key item that signifies they assited in the clearing of the area. There is one for each room, and all nine will be required for entry into the final chamber, Valgrind.

*The key items will vanish at the moment of entry into Valgrind.
*Players who clear the 10th chamber will be awarded a pass that allows them entry to any of the other nine chambers without having to clear each wing in succession.

So, still gonna be pretty lame methinks.

Yeah, the pass will only let you do complete the other 9 chambers again in any order, instead of doing Wing 1, then Wing 2, then Wing 3, then Valgrind.

No matter how you look at it, it's gonna be a 30 day wait each time you want to do the final room, and that's if you do it every 3 days. :(

That sucks =( Hopefully the rewards from Valgrind will be worth the wait...
