Um... Newsflash Test didn't have points. And even if we did I dont remember you ever being at anything we did.

Generally, if you go into a shell looking for what you can get, you're not going to get anything. If you go into the shell looking to have a good time with some friends and help some people out you will.
 
You know your argument sounds an awful lot like someone I knew and subsequently can't stomach who felt he was too "leet" to be associated with the members of the awesome sky shell I was in. He felt that since he had *so* many points accumulated (as he had been a sackholder of the shell for some time), even though he went on a tirade basically calling everyone in the ls losers and worse, that he somehow deserved an osode or millions in ls bank funds upon exiting. Nevermind that it was his choice to leave after alienating everyone, we were supposed to "compensate" him.

Well I've got news for you. Fuck that, fuck him, and everyone who thinks like him. First off, if you get booted from a shell it was for a reason and you don't deserve jack shit from them. Second, if a shell breaks or you choose to leave, they don't suddenly owe you for time spent. You go into a situation where you earn points to spend on gear and you know this is the deal. If you don't bid your points for some reason, that's on you. If you get outbid you keep trying. It's no different than lotting tiers in dynamis or salvage or anything else. But if you lose a lot, no one's gonna hand you a mil and say, better luck next time.

The shell I was a part of I loved. I showed up because I loved the people in it and I had more fun with those people than anywhere else in the game. I invested a lot of my time and had earned a lot of gear and points over the course of the shell's run. When the leader decided his time on FF was done, we couldn't imagine replacing him and so we decided to retire the shell. And you know, not one of us were looking for handouts when it happened. I had over 150 points saved toward what I hoped would be osode but I didn't go pissing and moaning about what I was "owed."

Try picking a shell next time that has lotting rules you can live with or one that is long running and not likely to break anytime soon. Or cleaning up your act and not getting kicked for something. But don't piss and moan because you feel you're owed something. The greed you're talking about is the garbage you're spouting. "All I got was Ohat and Rostrums and some relic." Real gear takes time and effort. And by that I don't mean a couple months in one shell, a few in another. Everyone wants the big items, and not everyone can have them at once. If you can't figure that out, then you're going to have a tough time finding any end-game shell.
 
Doing anything in FFXI for the reward isn't worth it. You either have to keep working to keep your character improving or else the sum of all your previous time spent working is for nothing. As in, you can get endgame gear and merits, but they're only useful to get more endgame gear and more merits. So if you're not having fun in the first place, don't bother, because the reward is essentially useless if you don't like the method that it comes from.

Also, when you finally find yourself at that point that you don't want to work anymore and consider yourself, "good enough," then a month later Squaresoft will just make some update making your gear less efficient than some new setup. That's why the only endgame I'll do is Limbus because it's actually fun for me to participate in.
 
When you thinking of joining a Shell, find out about the lotting rules before you make a decision. It's strange, but in the LS Recruiting forum here I've never seen a Recruiting LS post their rules, and I've never seen anyone looking for a Shell ask for them...

I was in Test for a few weeks till ppl left thier wherent any points just spilt drops lol If i rember right i know Ujio wasnt anywhere near capible to keep track of points lol

O and yea after your thread i doubt that whole getting a good shell bi wendsday is gonna happen

I agree. I know several shells that have all that information on their websites though. I guess it just depends on who's looking. I personally would never apply to a shell without having some basic understanding at the very least of what their lotting rules are, whether or not they have introductory member periods, etc. I would hope even if people don't ask in print, they'd ask an officer, but if the OP is any indication maybe some people don't.

I know this was in stryder's post somewhere but it's just much easier to use yours.

Note: Not the case. If your GM's not a douche or not actually entitled to it that's what happens. I know by the time i got burnt out trying to organize my bunch of morons who couldn't lvl a class past 40 without having to roll another alt i took the bank and ran like hell. No one even noticed and if they did they damn sure didn't question me on it.

Ujio was prolly capable, but the shell worked out the way that when we camped something you already knew who was getting most the stuff (i.e. we did Speed Belt for about 30+ days straight for Nomar). And when you went to camp stuff you would know who'd been helping the shell the most. It was a shell where everyone supposedly helped each other and then when someone got a peice of gear the next person was picked by some round-about way and people generally agreed on it.
 
recap to both momoo and psylentcuda. nomar kept track of events and was working on a point system one, two we werent camping speed belt for nomar it was for flamey, three you guys joined after the shell was formed up i was there from the beggining. and lastly personal note to momo, your 15 annoying and dont know shit except to make funny pictures have fun with pers. well see how long ur in there for. i may have been "asked to drop my shell" but you on the other hand got kicked for a bit. Regarding whisp's post i never expected to get an osode anytime soon or anything its just a #'s thing. If you had an amount of points i know a seniority system is in play in 99% of linkshells, i was just stating it as a # reference. And lastely i was drunk yest. when i wrote this original topic. this is my last post to this thread.

So your bitching about being in a LS Xamount of time. Then you getting booted, or the LS disbanding before YOU get anything. Glad to see your prioritys are in order.
 
I didnt mean like Ujio wasnt able just the fact he never showed would of made it hard... lol <,< nothing personal ujio isnt that bad of a guy still talk to him time to time but i know thier was no point system and if u dont beilve me ill ask him so he can laugh at your sry *** lol
 
lol try stepping into my shoes, been playin since u.s. release with some breaks in between to play wow. i got no abj gear 1/3 of blackbelt items and the god gear most linkshells consider trash items genbu + suzy. as ive seen others go into a linkshell and get things out of them why cant i get the same? and teppo im not fox media i dont think its my way or stfu your wrong the nice thing about qcdn is no forum nazis to dictate what you can and cannot say. am i wrong for wanting something for playing so long? i went 1/244 on mee deegi the punisher when others have gotten tons of drops. ierno what else to say. had bad luck, if integral dont take me im gonna take a break from end game, go tell my wow and sb buddies to quit wow and sb and play ff and then make a ls. feel free to insert the omg integral hacks your a noob if you want to go to them comments. i dont care, if i havent seen them hack they dont. if you havent personally seen them hack they dont. I refuse to label others as hackers just because of what others have told me, if i did that i wouldnt have joined numerous shells.
 
and ujio wasnt really the leader of test. flamey and nomar did alot more then ujio did, people said he was having some irl issues ierno but he wasnt runnin test in the slightest.
